    Hi Guys,

Just back from Mullingar and was listening to all80s on 927 AM and 92 FM up as far as Enfield , FM wasn't that strong but the MW was rocking and sounded top.
Got closer to Maynooth and 92.3 / 99.2 & 1395 were all playing all80s.com also.
No RDS on 99.2 audio was a little lower than 92.3 .

Retro 92fm has been on air all weekend - improved signal, improved audio and the abrupt cross fades have been corrected

Late in the evening and I heard a station called Chill FM on 87.6FM. Signal was somewhat better out in the west of the city.

RTE Radio 1 from Ravensdale Park on 87.8, again has no RDS - which means car radios (where available) tune to a weak Kippure.

Chill FM has been around for a while now. It is largely a weekend only station. It cannot be picked up in Ballinteer or Dundrum or the south-east side of Dublin. Sometimes it can just about be picked up around Nutgrove, which is between Ballinteer, Churchtown and Rathfarnham.

Chill is on most days now and has been for a while.
It's transmissions are strongest in Dublin West .
I believe it was originally NLR.

Yes, it's been around years - broadcasts can be sporadic and there were a few weeks there where it wasn't on at all. But lately it's been on air a lot, which is nice addition to the band.

NLR was a reggae-oriented station. I do believe that was the only station of its kind in Ireland, well certainly Dublin anyway. I picked it up a couple of times around Nutgrove. The rebranded Chill, which is around three years now, plays chilled out dance music, if I am not mistaken.

chill is a rebrand of nlr.

    Ri Ra back on 105.2

Yesterday morning before 9am, I did a scan around Dundrum and Ballinteer areas and picked up the following stations on FM all playing music:
    102.5 - 1025Kiss
    88.8 - Easy Radio
    99.5 - Fresh FM
94.3 - Phever ...at least, I think it was on.
At that stage, Energy (Power) AM was not broadcasting on 1395am.

Later in the day, Energy was back on and doing live broadcasts, but all the others on FM were off!

The Vault has replaced The Beach on 105.7 again.

Retro on air today on 92fm.

Connect 93.2/Rte Gold relay 99.3 is off air today.

Chill/Easy/Phever/90s Network /Flash/Kiss/Extreme and Energy am all on air. I have only heard dance on Extreme - no pop

Also noted another station on 105.7 while driving through Sundrive/Kimmage - low modulation

    no .
they couldn't go on there anyway unless they took over the pages of defunked stations, as tunein doesn't take any more stations now and both launched after that came in to force.

Yeah, ridiculous really, TuneIn has so many streams that are no longer active. Surely if a stream is inactive for any more than six months or a year it should be taken down and replaced?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,867 ✭✭✭JDxtra

TuneIn have been battling against the record labels for a while now. Recently the courts in the UK ruled they broke copyright infringement by allowing listeners in the UK access to non-UK stations.

Great platform, but its going to get its hands tied.

+ also in Cork,Limerick,Galway on the usual multi-temp frequencies

I heard it this morning, they had a studio problem with "lopsided-stereo" playout of music (left side was very low) for a long length of time before this was corrected.

So in Dundalk this afternoon picked up Free dab North East, Its on very low power. Interestingly I didn't have to re-tune from Dublin free dab. It just worked on the Dublin frequency. See pic
