Moynihan this week and Dunne in Dunhill links.

Well it will be good to see these guys over the next two weeks. Reasonably good field for the Italian.....I'll be away for the weekend though :(

I too heard on RTE that Paul Dunne had a sponsors' invite to the Italian Open this week, but no sign of him on the entry list......I suspect RTE were wrong.

Are they playing as amateurs or professionals ?

8 consecutive birdies for Colsaerts, ranked outside the top 200 in OWGR currently.

Four bogies and three birdies today. Did well to birdie 16 and 18 to make his round look a bit better. Fair play to him.

Thanks, thought you were talking about qualifying comps

Peter Lawrie going well this morning.

Meanwhile Sky Sports have the Solheim Cup on two channels and the Italian Open on none.

At least none accessible without a Sky Dish and their "red button".

Along with Gary Hurley who is playing stage 1 of tour school currently.

Plenty Irish going well at Kelso but Hurley who was outside the mark after 3 rounds shot 5 under today to comfortably make stage 2.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,556 ✭✭✭Speak Now

7 of the 21 qualifiers from Kelso were Irish, good start to Q school.

McGinley burning it up in Italy so far this morning, starting birdie birdie par birdie!

How come Kevin Phelan has dropped off the race to Dubai rankings after the Italian open is it an error or is it back to Q school for him?

Error, he has dropped out of the top 110 though. Should be 113th assuming the list isn't missing other players as well.

5 weeks left, he's in the field next week but probably not the following 2. Really needs to get past the cut next Friday, has missed the last 3 unfortunately.

Worst case scenario is he will have a slightly better category 17 ranking than this season. Next week is start number 18 this season.

Great to see Langer up in the top 10, designed the course to suit his own eye obviously pacman.gif

Nice to see Hunter Mahan over as well, would have been easy to put the clubs away for the season after missing the Tour Championship for the first time and the Presidents cup after playing the last 4.

Hunter Mahan always strikes me as a dead nice guy - nice to see him in Europe.

Remember seeing him at the start of the year and he was all over the shop off the tee anyway. Completely unlike him. Commentators were saying that he was trying to change his swing in order to hit the ball further. Felt that he needed to do that to really compete with the best in the world.

Damien McGrane has just shot a 67 to give himself a good shot of making the cut on 4 under. Pity he bogeyed the last as 5 under will definitely make it through to the weekend.

Good comeback after dropping 4 shots in 3 holes yesterday.

Absolutely. And he should be safe enough on -4. Needs a couple of good weeks if he's going to hold onto his card.

It's actually looking like quite a struggle for him to retain his card. Great round today - delighted for him.

Great results from 2 of our Walker Cup stars Jack Hume & Paul Dunne at the 1st stage of Q School in Austria.

Both safely through to Stage 2 in November, Hume in 4th place on -11 and Dunne tied for 5th on -10 after the 4 rounds.
