They just happened to be at the scene of an armed robbery?

The name "White hat" is sounding more and more dramatic, I kind of like it...and fell a bit guilty for liking it.

He just admitted on national TV that the cops got lucky! The two bombers were not at all involved in the 7/11 robbery, wrong place, wrong time

This is the part of the story I don't get - what happened between the 7-11 and the MIT officer getting shot? Were they trying to plant more bombs at MIT? Or did they just see a cop and freak out?

So, they've lifted the ban. Do you think they're trying to draw him out or is this a sign they're confident he is no longer in Boston and there is no danger to the public?

It's implied they were there within the same timeframe. It literally could of been 30 mins part tho.

7/11 was robbed by someone else. They just happened to be there getting some fuel.

Could he not have easily killed a SWAT member and disguised himself in the uniform for the last number of hours? He could have gotten some free donuts too.

The white cap would give him away.

They were buying petrol. The next step is unclear but they were either recognised on cctv which alerted the police or the armed robbery drew the police on them. I don't know how they got to shooting the MIT cop in his car. It's hazy.

Getting more of a clear picture from that chief of police.

    > So police chase car with two brothers to Watertown.
    > Firefight ensued.
    > The 26yo brother gets shot and killed while, "white hat guy" (19yo brother) fled "on foot"

So ... how far could he have gone?
Surely not far on foot it would seem. But if he managed to steal another car? he could be anywhere.

Wow. They weren't the ones robbing the convenient store.

That's a serious stroke of luck.

Well... after this, they'll be on the straight and narrow. ;)

But if he managed to steal another car? he could be anywhere.

    That's the bit i don't get...

Cops everywhere. Complete Lockdown of the city.

How could he go anywhere in a car without being seen?

A car would be spotted a mile away, probably heard a fair distance too..

The person(s) that were robbing the 711 may end up getting a royal pardon as they have quite likely saved the US from more causalities.

It seems like he probably got out before the lock down. That's the only thing that makes sense to me.

I know he's a mass murderer but no one deserves that.

    It's hazy alright.
But when did the lockdown happen? after the brother got killed? ... if he got a car, he could get well away before the lockdown went into effect.

The officers that were part of the fire fight would not have approached the car for quite a while until they knew 100% it was safe to do so..going the white hat guy plenty of time to escape! He could have gone anywhere, literally..who knows if he's still there and hasn't fled to another state :/

Judging from the fact that he isnt in Watertown. He is definitely help up somwhere. Could be even the woods :pac:

He either has somewhere to hide out (friends house) or is laying low somewhere offside by himself.

Missed the last hour of this thread and action decided to fool myself into believing i have a life outside of this thread. I do not.

Switched on the news to the revelation he fled the scene on foot. So a 19 year old kid does a runner (literally) and vanishes into thin air with 9,000 policemen chasing him?!

I watch enough dodgy UK reality Cop shows to know they always catch them when they start jumping over fences into gardens and that they are usually in the Wheely Bins or Shed hiding.

But then he robbed another car.
First car was early this morning in Boston, he got out of the housing estate, something Park. That was a Grey Honda CRV.

Then later he got a Honda Civic (Green) and escaped again in that..

I can't figure it out. Or if we're getting correct reports.

I'm beginning to think he was caught ages ago and the FBI or powers that be don't want anyone to know yet until they can get him safely away from the media, or something more extravagant.
