Any one know what (approx) time Conor is fighting at on August 17th? Also can we expect to see the weigh-ins live?

Doubt Aldo would come over here to fight him. Brazil's market is 100x bigger than here.

Aldo might be a Lightweight by then. His plan was to move up to LW if he beat Pettis, a fight that didn't happen. There could be a vacant title fight with Connor being one of the participants ;)

That was some interview probably one of the best I've heard and thats come from me Connor doubter!

Fly Steve Collins out Boston corner Connor, Steve calling out Roy Jones "I'll fight him MMA"

    FCUK!!!!! that was something else

Only annoying bit was Steve and Connor talking over each other:D

RTE are doing a fly on the type documentary on Connor, thats huge imo fair dues to RTE for getting behind Connor where most of the country think its human "cock fighting"

IF all goes to plan we could be seeing a McGregor title fight in Dublin next year some time, now wouldn't that be the dogs bollox :D

We would all love it, but there is no way will he get a title shot that quickly, there are too many other guys in line before him.

Yeah that was gas, I thought fighters get advised not to perform moves on mere mortals. Didn't Chuck get in trouble for putting a fan in a choke hold on request and then the guy sued?

Yes, no chance of a title fight in Dublin I would think, doubt that the UFC or Aldo would agree to it. Has there ever been any title fight held in Europe? I can't remember one.

    • BJ Penn vs. Joe Stevenson
    • Rampage Jackson vs. Dan Henderson
    • Matt Hughes vs. Carlos Newton

I saw IC beside Barao's name and automatically thought Intercontinental. Sorry I meant European championship;)

Like who? Aldo has beaten everyone. The only options left are probably Swanson & Mendes... again.

http://www.mmafighting.com/2013/8/9/4602928/the-mma-beat-on-rampage-vs-tito-mcgregor-overeem-fox-sports-1? they have a segment on him on the mma beat about 10 min long....Looks like alot of people buying into the hype. Nice to see in a way but scary as hell aswell! Cant wait for saturday now.....

On a sidenote they have a full media day just for him next tuesday, pretty ****ing huge!

The whole mma world is really getting behind him. Everyone is excited to see him fight next.
Hopefully he can keep the momentum going and get a few solid wins behind him. He could be a superstar within the next year.
I remember John Kavanagh on here about a year ago saying he predicts Conor will be a UFC champ by the end of 2014. If things keep moving at this pace, he could well be right.

If he loses next week it'll be such a kick in the gut. Would seriously put a halt to the hype train.

You think they'll be delaying showing his fight on BT Sport to air it as an extra main card fight? Should be fighting live around 7pm ET (Prelims start 6pm ET) which is 12am here. Be a bit of a balls since twitter and the likes will have all the results and reactions immediately.

    1. How many title fights will occur before then? Max 4.
    2. Ahead would have to be: Swanson, Mendes, Lamas, Possible re-match with the Zombie, Then you have Frankie Edgar.
So there will not be enough title fights before then for it to be possible.

Hope he gets one, but it is not realistic at this stage.

He needs to impress vs holloway and then beat 2 or 3 more. Maybe Guida, Porier and Siver/ any on the list above that I put ahead of him.

Just managing expectations based on the timeframe.

That would be annoying. Hopefully they won't do that. For UFC 163 BT just seemed to take the UFC feed and didn't add anything to it (except the ads) or take anything from it. I'm open to correction on that though as it was late and I might have nodded off a few times :p

If they do go butchering the broadcast, there's always ufc.tv which shows the prelims live.

Who deserves a shot and who gets a shot are 2 entirely different things when it comes to Zuffa/Dana White

Did Dan Hardy deserve a shot at Georgie? Did he hell, he got the shot cos he was the flavour of the month, a young fighter, British, Red Mohawk and the girls loved him. He got the shot IMO purely because of his marketability for Zuffa.

Conor is in this same boat, 99% of Americans claim to be of Irish Descent, everyone loves the Irish, that's why i think it's totally feasable to see Conor getting a shot very early next year if he wins his next 2 fights
