Conor will stop his takedowns and beat him to the punch... he's so fu%ked !

England v Ireland in Bwoston sounds fun : )

They're really bedding Conor in slowly, was expecting a bit of a higher profile name.
My guess is they want him on a 2-3 fight win streak and will want him to co-headline a Dublin event against a contendor

    ah ffs

were you expecting aldo or edgar???

you dont get to fight a top 10 opponent until to earn it and one UFC win
    is not enough.

Nice one. Ogle is exactly the kind of opponent McGregor should be fighting at the moment. No rush, fight the tough guys in the mid to bottom of the pile and work your way up should be the order of the day.

Ogle is as tough as they come. Maybe he's not World Champ material but he's very very tough and has so much heart! Also, he'd be 2-0 had he not lost a razor thin Split Decision to Akira.

Also, he'll give Connor a great scrap! Really looking forward to it!

Work your way up was yesterday. Today your wasting McGregors mofo time!.

I like Ogle showed great heart especially the last twice. Ah shur get it on then.

You honestly believe that Connor, at 1-0 in the UFC against an unranked opponent, is above working his way through the ranks?

Throwing him in against the big guys after just a couple of minutes in the UFC does nothing but set him up for failure!

Personally would love to see Conor win at a few events against lesser opponents and make a few quid on the way. In fairness if he can't beat Ogle he might as well pack it in, Al Iaquinta destroyed him on the feet (although he seems to have improved since) so Conor should do the same.

If he gets a shot at a leading contender too early and loses it could really set his career back. Slow and steady to the top is best :-)

    Not this sh1t again!!
It's getting embarrassing to see all the Irish replies on twitter etc like this one as though he is Anderson Silva and Ogle has no chance.
Also very disrespectful to ogle who is a very tough opponent and does no favours to Conor to run down his opponent so that if he beats him its not seen as as big a deal as it should.

In my opinion there was nothing razor thin about that decision against Corrisani. Ogle was robbed.

Ogle is the right level of opponent for McGregor at this early stage of his UFC journey. A decent enough all-rounder, he will be a respectable scalp.

In terms of the rank of opponent, this is a perfectly good fit. As others have said, Conor has 1 win in the UFC. It's the blind patriotism here that has people fast tracking him to a title shot. He may well have the potential to be at the top, but he's only in the door!

My only disappointment is that I think Ogle is a decent rising prospect too. He was blatently robbed against Corassani and looked superb against Grispi. I'm just surprised that the UFC have chucked him and Conor together at this stage of their career whereby one of them has to lose and get knocked down a peg or 2.

I think if Ogle loses, his UFC future will rest heavily on his next fight after McGregor.

Absolutely, he was robbed against Corrisani but i'm quite certain he will be waking up on the morning of the 18th of August with a 1-2 record in the UFC and he will very much feel like his future as a UFC fighter is in danger.

can't wait to see odds on it or rather how short
    conor will be priced up

he takes ogle without too many problems imo

Good match-up for Conor but one he'll be very much expected to win.

Can't see Ogle winning this fight anywhere and I think Conor will easily keep it standing.

After that, he'll pick him apart in short order and we should have more UFC highlight reel stuff and an even greater escalation in hype. The fight after should be a proper test.

Having said that, everyone from here on in knows that should they beat him, their stock will go through the roof.

he trying to Rampage the irish Helwani?

He's coming across as a ass in that interview he seems totally fine in the other interviews.

Uncalled for tough love about the interviewers appearance, equipment and professionalism. I'm sure thats mostly just the way he chides and Andrew took it that way in the main but it was a bit much. Im sure the interviewer and website is doing that work on a shoe string budget if there even is a budget and its not like someone is paying for his wardrobe!. Its also not as if theres a hundred guys queuing up to take his place.

He and Andrew are friends. They know each other & have trained together. He called it "Probably my favorite interview I've done".

I would think that 1/3 McGregor v 9/4 Ogle is probably about right.

All the more reason for Connor to respect him during the interview and not mock him and not giving the reporter his full attention "alrite ladies" telling some fella to pass in front of camera if he wanted.

Aaaaand welcome to the spotlight, Conor!

He was only buzzing off him and not been nasty, and telling the lad to walk past was because it was the only way you could go by-Did you expect the lad to wait for the interview to end when it was done in a hall?!

I dont have a strong opinion on it but it was the same kinda way Skinner and Baddiel used to get statto. Punch bag friend, and they would consider statto a friend but it still doesnt make it right!.
