I have made plans for my evening should the rest of the day be smooth sailing at work. I think I am going to put together the skirt I've had drawn up for ages. I just need to figure out how I do one part of it.

Energy levels are waaay down recently! I'm waking up feeling not exactly tired but definitely not rested. Really need to start going to bed earlier!

Ugggh, internet problems are the bane of my life. We're switching from Eircom to Sky broadband, Sky arranged for our Eircom connection to be cut off but haven't delivered our router for their connection yet because our house is too hard to find. Being internet-less plus working from home equals pain in the arse. And the delivery driver who has our router isn't answering his phone so we can arrange to get it off him  On the plus side, I have an oreo cupcake that's the size of my head.

The red bit on the yoke is what I'm have difficulty with. It's a much softer material than the black so I don't think I can just sew them together and have the red support everything else. I've been doing a little looking around online and I think I need to applique the material on with some fusible material to hold it flat on it, but I'm not sure.

    Head is fried.

At this point I'm losing the will to live :p

Then I have friends asking me stupid questions about stuff thats not even on the course anymore!

So many proofs to learn, think if I sleep with them under my pillow I'll wake up tomorrow and know them?

What you need is called "fusible interfacing". Get a good quality one, it doesn't matter what colour as it will be completely invisible when sewed into the waistband. It's required for the waistband anyway and I see that there are two fabrics in the waistband.

I'd sew them together as normal first, then when you have the 4 large pieces, apply the interfacing before pinning and sewing the yoke.

I want to do Who wants to be a millionaire (LC Economics edition) with my students but can't think of how to do an "Ask the audience" in a one on one session :/

    Any ideas?

Ask the other students? Or are you doing absolutely private one on ones?
You might just have to do without it and give them another option instead like a second 50:50

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,016 ✭✭✭lilmissprincess

Yeah its private one on ones. For the Phone a friend I was going to have three answers with two having the right answer and one with the wrong one on cards, the second 50:50 may be a viable choice... Thanks :)

You could write up cards with the stats for Ask the Audience, so a card saying 45% picked A, 22% B, etc. For Phone a Friend I'd imagine you could just roleplay, or write out a script of what a theoretical friend would say.

That's an even better idea

Im strongly considering taking up a long distance Cloud Computing course. It will help me out so much in the three masters i want to do. The only problem is that it does take up a chunk of my savings. I dont want to take anything out of my savings because the masters i want is really expensive. It starts in 8 days. I have a few days to apply. what to do, what to do.

Will it help you in the future with careers and such? It could be worth it, if so. "You have to spend money to make money" and all that. It could be worth a few sacrifices in the long run... I wish I even knew what cloud computing is..

Boyfriend got himself a new job today. So proud. :D

In a nut shell, cloud computing is sharing stuff over a network, usually the internet, from one source to another like phone to a computer. i dont know if you have apple or android, i have android but apple released a programme called icloud, where you have a network that is linked to whatever apple products you have. If you have something on your iphone, you can send it to your ipad or mac through this network. Next time you turn on your mac/ipad whatever you sent will be there stored on it.

Similar thing is in IT. I think it will benefit greatly. One of the masters i want to do covers it. But id already have a diploma in it, if i did it so one less thing to worry about ya know?

    congrats for the bf :)

All of a sudden I can't stop eating crap. Even when I feel sick I'm still eating it! And I have felt sick pretty much constantly for the last few days. What on earth is wrong with me?!

Why can't things ever just be normal for me?!
