I meet up with two friends from college for lunch every Thursday, and we usually go to the same O'Briens... as soon as they see us come in it's pretty much instantly "pulled pork roll, white tripledecker, brown tripledecker, americano, latte, coke"! Convenient if a little embarrassing...

It's the same in my local coffee shop
"Hi, regular americano, toasted italian chicken wrap, yes?"

    I'm so predictable.

Me and my sister used to go to this chinese a lot. Our number would pop up on screen and when we started to talk they would just say "The usual? 10 minutes" :o

My last guy was 17 odd and he was a big bugger. At 15 he was eating the couch. :D That's the figure to beat and no doubt she will :) A childhood mate of mine's dog a terrier made it all the way to 21. Their vet suggested she be put to sleep when she was 14 as she was "getting on and it wouldn't be fair". As it turned out she outlived him.

Familiarity in cafes, shops, bars, restaurants is great. It makes you feel so welcome. Like when a restaurant asks you to taste a new dish they're doing, or a bar asks you to try a new beer all because they know you've reliable taste.

Hopefully, wibbs!! She's getting very slow the past few weeks. I don't know what I'll do when her time comes :/

My guys are 11 and the 'little one' is nearly 8. They still seem young and bouncy and playful, but it can change so quickly. I don't want them to leave me. :(

George Hook's granny could dance better than that.

(That is not me indicating I watched it. The only George Hook I'll watch is when his mouth collapses in on itself like a black hole.)

Mmm, cookies! I love how the book says they last in a container for 7 days...not happening Mary Berry, I ate my share before they were even fully cool :D 15 mins from starting to eating, om nom. That's my quota of baking for eating for the next 6 months!

I was so wrecked this evening. Had a wee nap so now I'm WIDE awake. I'm only on a four day week, imagine if I had to do all five days!?

Our Chinese is the same too. As soon as she hears my voice she has the order in the system! And she gets worried if I don't mention someone's order or forget a bit.

    Frickin zombies!

Watched Paranorman with the small man about 2 months ago and for a night or two he had bad dreams about a zombie in his room eating his daddy (there's no zombies eating people in the film, they basically just walk around, it's PG).

All was grand until last weekend and every night he wakes up with this same nightmare. The poor little lad! He came in to me at 5 so I brought him in to our bed and he went to sleep, with his knee jammed into my back.

So hello, I've been awake for 4 hours! How's everyone else?

    Aw the poor thing :(

Jamie informed me that he watched the Grudge last week in his friends house. He's only turning 11 on Paddys day FFS. Not impressed.

Now in saying that, i had watch pretty scary stuff at his age and had to sleep with my dog in my bedroom for months thinking Freddie was under my bed.

There was a mix up at the video shop for my sixth birthday and instead of watching some film about Bingo the dog, we ended up watching Critturs. Now I know it's a skit of horror films but at that age my sense of irony had not developed. Frightened the life out of me, I used to take a running jump into the bed every night for months after that, in case a crittur would pull me under the bed!

Probably not quite as tired, but I've got a woken up during the night story too :)

The wee doggie usually has to get up in the middle of the night to be let out the back and go to the toilet. That's alright, I get up and let her out and get back to sleep usually. The catch is, she's a total princess and won't go out if it's raining. So I got up and went to let her out the back, but she gives me that "Nope, I don't think I'll go out after all" look and we go back up to bed. Then she does the same thing again, it doesn't feel like I've had a chance to go back to sleep. Then again at 6, it's bright out now and the rain's stopped so she finally goes out to do her business! At this point, I'm hoping I can get another hour of sleep.

So annoying, but what can I say to her? :p

I was telling my sister-in-law about Jimbo's dreams and she thought I was saying he watched Paranormal Activity! :pac:

When I was 6 my brothers showed me Jaws. After that trauma I thought I was unscarable. Then I watched the original Ring film alone in our dark shack when I was 21. Definitely scarable!

I should have read the parental guide on imdb. Paranorman should be higher rated IMO. Our fella deals grand with Doctor Who, but this was on a different plane for him.

How does he manage with Doctor Who? Sometimes even I get a bit scared with it :o

Oh, and the original Ring freaked the hell out of me too.

I did actually read your post as Paranormal Activity first :)

After i watched the grudge i had to get one of the lads to walk me up to my door. It's a 30sec walk around the corner ffs. Then Jamie started telling me about parts he thought were funny and he was scaring the shíte out of me all over again.

He's grand because he knows the Doctor will save the day. He doesn't like the monsters (Silence especially) but once they're offscreen he's doesn't remember them (lol).

We were near the end of that film and I could feel him going rigid under my arm and I looked down at the look of horror on his face. Poor guy. We turned it off but maybe we should have let him see the end because he was telling me this morning that the zombies were "still alive." :(

Awwwwww the poor little thing. Does telling him that they're not real and only pretend not work?

Nope. He "knows" they're real so it upsets him more when we tell him that. We've been telling him that we'll kill any zombie that comes anywhere near our house and they won't get in.

In fairness me and his Dad know a lot about surviving a zombie attack. We've done extensive research!

My brother watched it at his friend's house when he was about 15. One of the lads got up to get something out of the kitchen, and when he didn't come back he went to check and was confronted with this:

His friend had really committed to the prank, staying pressed up against the wall in the dark for ages to get the reaction he wanted :D

Fridayyyyy! So excited. Took Monday as a bank holiday even though you get extra time in lieu for working it, but I wanted a long weekend.

So happy to be visiting home. My mammy is way too excited. I feel bad living away from her, and she's been sick and out of work all year.

My nephew was traumatised for WEEKS by...

    ...wait for it....

Wallace & Gromit Curse of the Wererabbit.

Ok, he was 6, but still - it's a giant, fluffy, vegetarian rabbit. He had to sleep with the light on for weeks afterwards. I even had to buy him a dreamcatcher to keep the nightmares away.*

*I'm aware that dreamcatchers are up there with angel statues and crystal balls, but we were desperate even for a placebo effect at that stage.

I can KINDA see how a six year old would be scared by that! (Love that film!)
