A lot to ask, but I swear he has blown a big lead before - about 2 years ago from memory

5 shots or so I thought

    WGC

    Scott 12/1 win only
    Sergio 28/1 ew
    Speith 33/1 ew
    Moore 55/1ew
    Henley 200/1 ew

    Barracuda
    Brenden Steele 28/1 ew
    Scott Langley 30/1 ew
    Patrick Rodgers 50/1 ew
    Kyle Stanley 50/1 ew

Not time for write up but hope to get back to winning ways. Have had great first 6 months, but July I did have 0 success so hopefully changes this weekend.

Only small stakes in Barracuda for me. Normal in WGC.

    Ah Sergio!! and Steele!

    Mad loss after that.

    Roll on this week.

Wasn't too bad, Keegan before the tournament with 5 places at 20/1, only got half the amoutn due to a tie and Rory last night at 7/4!

WGC Bridgestone Invitational @ Firestone Country Club

First even of two big weeks in the US, should be a great couple weeks of golf. Can't see Tiger win this week even though he has an immaculate record here.

Martin Kaymer @ 33/1 He will have settled down a bit after his US Open win. 33/1 looks like value to me in a small field.

Brandt Snedeker @ 66/1 His game looks to have returned after a few bad months, does not have a great record here but I like his price.

My next 2 picks are woefully out of form but definitely have the ability to do well here and are overpriced imo again for an event with a small field.

    Jonas Blixt @ 200/1
    Russell Henley @ 200/1

My last pick for now is a European Tour player having a brilliant season, 300/1 just looks too big to resist imo.

    Fabrizio Zanotti @ 300/1

Might add 1 or 2 more before it starts, PP refunding losing outright bets with a free bet if Rory or Tiger win.

    Good luck everyone.

Added Garcia @25/1 and Gonzo @125/1.

Broke even with Garcia placing. Happy to see Snedeker playing well again too, will be backing him this week. Zanotti stuck in there too, definitely has a big win in him some time.

Not as excited as Kew is about this week though.

I'm giving Kuchar one last chance at 25/1 this week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 176 ✭✭charlieharper

Looking at the betting list you wouldn't go wrong with the top 4:

    Rory @ 5/1 outright
Scott, Garcia & Rose worth an E/W punt.

Then I don't fancy anyone E/W again until you reach Rickie Fowler @ 25/1

As for an outsider I'd tip Shane Lowry @ 100/1 outright but maybe a safer bet to back him to finish as top 20.

Also Robert Karlson @ 125/1 , showing good form lately.

    European Amateur Championship

Gavin Moynihan @ 20/1 Really top class player, ranked number 10 in the World Amateur rankings and definitely in with a great chance this week.

    Going with 3 this week.

    Rose
    Fowler
    Kuchar

    All each way.

Hopefully a cracking few days golf ahead!

    Edit: Replaced Kuchar with Bubba.

Where did you get that price or was it got before last week?

Rory could walk away with it if he is out of the blocks quick this week but I'm hoping this Major is a close one after the one horse shows in the Open and esp the US Open!

    I've gone for..
Scott 12/1 -- Super consistent and think he will be there or thereabouts.
Stenson 30/1 -- Backed him for the Open were he flopped but good tournament last week and still has bags of talent.
Watson 35/1 -- Blows hot and cold but the set up thsi week might suit him.
GMac 40/1 -- Always a decent shout and three top tens and a win in his last four starts bodes well.

One my own probably but £2 on Woods at 52/1 seems reasonable - can easily lay out if he performs

do you bet mate?,did you ever do an e/w double on a horse race?no

an each way double must be two different events and the reason they give you for not allowing you to do it is they call them 'related events'

I don't think you can even do for eg a Man u e/w double on the champions league and the premiership, they're related events.

I understand all that but its the reasoning for it I'm after. Doesn't matter dont want to derail the thread. Cheers.

are you messing mate???they can't both win the same tourney can they???????

best you could do is ask a bookie (independent probably) what odds they'll give you on Rors and Garcia finishing in the top6

I understand that. I was looking to do a double on both of them placing in the top 6 but that isn't possible either. I'm looking for the bookies reasoning for this.

well you didn't explain yourself very well tbh,an e/w double has 2 parts,a win and a place, you actually should have said place double.
