Squatting before lunch is wrong on so many levels!

So you had already squatted 170kg 20 times before going for the set of 10?

4x5 doesn't really count as 20. But yeah, guess so.

Good thing about morning squats is that nothing can beat ya the rest of the day.

Just finished an OH, back and front squat session with an ass to the grass 4 rep FS @ 100kg.

Speaking of squats... The Pig squatted 130kg at 78kg before we went away last week.

My first daily achievement... Meeting a fitness instructor at the gym, being shown the different exercises and getting a program together.

My arms feel like jelly. Hopefully the first of many!

    Sumo deadlift: 180kg x12

Absolutely muck numbers but if anyone knows my thoughts and past history with sumos (stupidest exercise ever!) you'll know why I'm pretty happy with this set

    140kg Deadlift x 5 @ 70Kg. A personal best! :)

Read every post in the HFLC thread and my brain didn't explode.

I've done some good deadlifting in the last week and a half. Up until Tuesday last week my (sumo) PR was 280 kg done about a year ago and not matched since.

So I got 285 kg @ 77 kg on Tuesday last week
Then 280 kg after squatting and benching on Tuesday this week
    Then a 3 inch block deadlift of 310 kg yesterday (10 kg PR) plus 280 x 5.

No belt for any of this, double overhand grip with straps for the lifts off blocks, mixed grip for the lifts off the floor.

I hope that I can push on now to a 300 kg sumo deadlift and my strategy is to do one deadlift variation everyday

    Sumo floor deads
    Sumo block deads
    Sumo deficit deads
    Conventional floor deads
Conventional block deads with shrugs at the top

87.5kg press for me today. And it was pretty.

That's a very good number for me because I suck overhead.

135x7. That's one more rep than last week. Gonna drop the reps to 5 and keep pushing on to 137.5 next week.

Have been trying to do chinz for god knows how long. Was training them yesterday and couldn't do them without a band. For some reason today I had a burst of energy and was able to get 2.

    Baby steps :)

Dicking about today in the Elite Fitness & Performance Academy after showing the PT students some power training and weightlifting basics.

    100kg complex;
    -power clean
    -push press
    -back squat
    -push press
    -pendlay row
    -deadlift

...was supposed to be a front squat after the power clean but I forgetted :(

    Went 60, 80, 90 first.

Gonna start adding these in somewhere cos they're great craic.

First solo run at the gym today. Definitely self-conscious in the weights section but hopefully I can keep it up. Was probably way off form-wise with a few exercises so I'm going to do some YouTube research before my next session on Wednesday.

EDIT: Daily Fail is going for a big sloppy burrito right afterwards. Very Minor Extra Daily Achievement was opting for a bottle of water and not a large coke with it. As someone said above, baby steps...

    flat bench 5x5 @ 115kg (pb)

    Decline bench 1x10 @ 120kg (pb)
    1x2 @ 140kg (pb)

My last 5x5 flat bench pb was 105kg and 140kg was very close to my 1 rm on decline bench.

What's with the constant stream of bench PBs? what is your secret ? Cake? 2 Cakes????

He must have tiny T-Rex range of motion? :pac:

Very impressive bench though! My squat and DL PBs are within 15kg of his but his bench is nearly double mine :o

Ran 11km. The 10km split was a little slower than my 10km a couple of weeks ago but pleased to just get it done.

onto week 9 of Madcow & still no failed reps. 5 rep squat max up to 140kg @70kg.Also Deadlifts are easy at 165x5 so should get 177.5 x5 in 3 weeks time.

about 2 years. started doing atg squats a year ago but had to stop doing them for 6 months due to patellar tendonitis.Maintained strength well though due the Ed Coan Deadlift program & use to have a 182kg 1 rep max @ 70kg.Gettin back to that level now though.
