Wonder why we are back to repeats this week.
No idea why today's #Pointless is a repeat. First weekday repeat all year though. Will find out if its just a one-off.
The Radio Times says #Pointless repeats all week. Won't last too long I'm sure. We're busy filming as many as we can.

I think the only contestant I like is the one who went to Ireland :pac: The questions are dire too so far. The improvements have been vast in 2 years or so

It will be repeated into next week too.

Noooo! I hate the repeats. Only 3 subjects to pick from in the final, and the first 2 rounds aren't as good a format as the new ones.
But that blonde student was easy on the eye
Funny when they played a clip of yer mans band, Elliot Minor

Love the show - hate repeats! Although it's easy to get one up on my husband who has only started watching recently.

Repeats up to and including next Monday http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b015fbdt

While we were enjoying the day off - the boys were busy working.
Filming 4 episodes on this sunny Bank Holiday. Pointless never sleeps.

    Richards twitter update

It was also some kind of sick joke having the football managers question on Wednesday considering my whole world was crumbling due to Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement. I thought I could take my mind off it for a few minutes but no :(

And new episodes starting again on the 27th I think.

You can all put your money where your mouth is by voting Pointless as the Best Daytime Entertainment Show.

Richard Osman tweeted this a few hours ago:
We tried out a new endgame for #Pointless today. It was GREAT! Wouldn't be on screen for a while though. But very exciting.

Should the endgame be changed? The current one has worked well enough for over 300 episodes now...

    Today Richard tweeted
The 500th episode of #Pointless is on soon too. And after that, our 'slighty different' endgame #slightlydifferentendgame

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,672 ✭✭✭brian_t

Going by wikipedia I reckon they have shown 453 normal episodes to date leaving 47 more to get to 500. (That's 9.4 weeks worth)

If you include the 36 celeb episodes then they have shown 489 episodes leaving 11 more to get to 500. (That's 2 weeks and 1 day)

My calculations may be wrong of course.

I wonder what this slightly tweaked endgame is? I remember seeing that tweet ages ago alright. I'm slightly scared that it could be terrible, although having seen some of the repeats these past few weeks it's clear how much better the show has become. As long as Richard's there everything will be grand I guess.

Maybe you get slightly more of a hint at what the categories are? The jackpot seems to stay low more often than not, so I don't think it's a major problem.

New Pointless today :D It's been too long since I've had some fresh cutting-edge Richard Osman in my life :pac:

Yaaaayyyyyy, great to have new episodes back again.

Bit Klingon-esque the perfectly nice first contestant

The endgame change could be good. Looking at the older episode repeats, the new version is way better. Round one is far better now, and the picture round is great.

Read on another forum that when you choose from the main categories you then get a choice of three further sub-categories.

This would sound fair to me. At the moment I think the categories are just too broad.

That would be interesting alright but it would really limit the jackpot rising. I enjoy seeing it build as it makes it even sweeter when Central African Republic wins you £15k :pac:

Still no guarantee the sub-group would make it easier I suppose.

My old man loves pointless, I dont know how they manage to broadcast 5 days a week for most of the year and survey people for pointless answers.

    They outsource this.

They record 3 episodes in a day and last Tuesday they just completed a run of 123 episodes.

If that is indeed the change, then it's certainly not as radical as almost everyone feared - which is A Good Thing. :)

Agree with every word there. :)

I wonder what effect the change will have on the likelihood of Funky Music being chosen? :D;)

The couple in the final today really really really annoyed me. Probably more than anyone else before them. Nice to have it back though.

Ya they were annoying alright, glad they didn't win. It's amazing how after the first round on each show, I know who I want to win and more importantly, who I definitely don't want to win.

Ya they were annoying as hell. Trying to play themselves as some sort of quirky double act didn't really work tbh. I found it amusing that when they did their stupid rock paper scissors schtick to decide their topic in the final, there were no laughs or reaction from either the audience or Richard and Alexander
