Also olives are up there with nuts for bulking, and they provide things nuts don't so you can mix the two up. Unfortunately for me I thought olives were a lower calorie alternative to nuts until a dietician pointed out the error of my ways and no amount of, "But they're green!! :(" would work on her.

Aw crap! Nuts, olives, hard cheese and beer are my favourite holiday evening time snack...

I love all of those. I think one of the best nights out I had over the past year was when myself and two friends went to a wine bar and splurged on two huge meat, cheese and bread platters and loadsa wine.

The biggest issue in the mens jacks is people who piss all over the fcukin floor.

Indeed, jeans I wear on nights out to busy pubs go straight into the washing basket when I get home, you dunno what you'd be trailing around on the ends of your jean legs.

This comment really jumped out at me. Why is it assumed that slim people find it effortless to be so and have never had any experience of food issues?
That was taken out of context. I never implied that! I was implying that slim (as the person in question was slim) people can't judge.

I have decided that if Sylvie shouts at me today, or tries to undermine me in any way, I'm going to give her a piece of my mind.

Watch me in about 3 hours, skulking out of the class with my tail between my legs :pac:

Ended up crying in class, but not in a bad way! Got 15/20 in my essay, the best result in a class full of people who are almost fluent in French. I got an actual compliment from Sylvie, I'll have welts on my arm from pinching myself! :pac: Suddenly feel motivated and back in gear again so I'm going to try to do my final essay really well and make sure I'm adequately prepared for my presentation next week. Deeeelighted! This almost makes up for last week's failure :pac:

I think you just re-phrased what you said but said the exact same thing.

So what if the person is slim? Maybe they work very hard at being slim?

*Just to point out that I think the person shouldn't have said what they said.

I still don't know quite what you mean though - they can't as in they'll never understand it, which is something you don't know about every slim person, or can't as in they shouldn't be "allowed"? It's a very sweeping statement to make in either context.

I meant it's none of their business why someone else is not as slim. I am well aware that being slim is not easy.

I cannot put on weight, no matter what I do. I eat chocolate, crisps etc pretty much every day. I drink fizzy drinks and beer. I take protein shakes at night.

Just be careful of your salt & sat fat intake. Being skinny doesn't automatically mean healthy. A guy I used to work with was in the same boat, never put on an ounce no matter what he ate, so he ate whatever the hell he wanted. Got a serious, serious fright when he got his cholesterol tested in work and it was over 9. He just assumed that because he wasn't getting fat, his crap diet wasn't affecting his health at all.

Not saying your diet is crap, by the way, your comment just struck a chord with me.

My brother is a beanpole and drowns his food in salt and now has to take tablets for cholesterol.

You're totally right. My dad has always been skinny and toned, always assumed he was healthy. But he smoked and ate loads of salt. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, blocked arteries.

I bought a soft ball and was kicking it around yesterday, knee was really sore this morning. Been kind of inspired again, having a decent enough week, after a sh*te start - spent three hours on the phone home about things last night, load of things going on with a lot of people, but we're ready for the fight!

Best friend is coming over in two weeks time, I'm going home in a week, yabbadabadoo! The biggest thing is that I have to stop bottling things up and not talking, still havent found anyone at work to talk to really. Still finding it weird not meeting people often, and being on my own, but things are looking up!

Does anyone have any suggestions for good interesting healthy food I can eat? My diet is generally very good, salads and all that good stuff but it's kind of boring. Anyone have any suggestions or even decent food websites?
