As I said earlier, everyone at this stage has a friend or family member in England, the phones a text & a bank transfer away for anyone that wants it.

Stop talking out your hole, please!

Sorry, you're right, that was harsh! :)

But what you're saying is just not true.
Everyone in this thread who's trying to buy this phone, would have used that option, if it'd been available.
I know it would have saved me a ton of trouble if I'd had the option ;)

Yeah, apologies too. I see a lot of frustration reading thru this thread, I followed my own advice this morn & have someone getting me one. He commutes between London, Las Vegas & the Rock so he will try & get the best deal for me.
I'm not sure if everyone has tried this though, sometimes the simplest answers are the hardest to think of

Might be easier to get it back from UK over the States, without incurring custom charges, but you'll be grand!

Would be so much easier if they sold these things in shops :)

Yeah, but that would give us nothing to do on here if that was the case ;)

    1. Accessing the Play Store
Since the Play Store isn't available in Ireland yet, you're going to need to order from the UK store. That's your first problem - They don't access Irish IP addresses. You have a few options here but the easiest one I found was to use Tunnel Bear. (http://www.tunnelbear.com/). Basically this allows you to act like you have a UK IP so you can access the store.

    2. Gmail account
I used my own personal Gmail address that I've been using for years. In my account settings (https://wallet.google.com/manage/settings) I have my own personal address and phone number listed in there, and my real name.

    3. Parcel Motel
Parcel Motel (http://www.parcelmotel.com) is the service I used to have the phone delivered to me. Register on their website and you get two free stays with them. Register with them and understand how it works using their delivery address.

    4. Payment
You're going to want to add a new payment method to your Google Wallet. Click 'Add debit or Credit card' under payment methods. You need to register this as a UK card using the Parcel Motel Belfast address and post code.

On the final section of payment both my shipping and billing address were set to the Parcel Motel address.

Also note, I paid with a credit card.

    5. Your bank
Not sure how important this step is but I rang my bank to ask them to add the Parcel Motel address to my list of allowed billing addresses. I've seen some peoples orders getting through without doing this - but I felt I was better safe than sorry.

I've followed the above steps but when I go to purchase it's asks me to sign into my account which I do but then it tells me 'not available in your country' I'm using tunnelbear. Is there something else I'm missing?

So I ordered mine on the 9th and its still pending. I mailed Google the other day and got that automated response saying my order was received and it will ship around the time mentioned on my order which said 1-2 weeks. Just seems weird some people ordered after me but got their phones already!!

I just tried buying an app and wouldn't go through. I then received an email to say the app order was cancelled and I would not be charged. I went into wallet and clicked on cancelled order and it said account on hold. What do you guys suggest!!

Since I was successful the first time around, I'm going to try again via my Ulster Bank Visa Debit + my PM address.

I got my "Google Play Order Receipt from Feb 16, 2013". I guess this means nothing in that there is no guarantee the phone will be shipped/that the payment has gone thru ok?

Used a N Ireland billing/shipping address for a credit card with actual billing address in ROI. So not overly optimistic.

Was going to pay via Entropay but they charge 4% I think to put funds on the card. Ringing your bank and adding the address is definitely the better option. I didnt change my billing address - just added the PM one to the account. Took a few minutes over the phone

"I didnt change my billing address - just added the PM one to the account" . Could you please elaborate what that means ? I have BOI CC and would like to know what exactly to tell the people in the bank or the phone help ? Change Billing or just add another address? I would want that address from PM removed after the transaction is done ! Thanks

Login to your google wallet and it'll tell you there.
you have to send them a picture of some form of ID and proof of address.
This happened to me and it took them 10 days to re-activate my account, pain in the arse

Did you change your billing address to Parcel Motel in the bank?

    No, didn't bother.
I used my normal gmail with previous play store purchases, Parcel motel as billing and shipping address.

Seriously? Someone sold one on eBay for cost? The seller would incur a fair hit in listing charges.

I think the poster was slightly exasperated & meant the cost of a sim free model, full list price as opposed to cost

Yep, I've seen auctions of sealed 16GB ended up @ GBP285.
Got mine @ GBP295. Should be with me tomorrow.

Really? Nice job! Mine cost that by the time I got it. I had a friend in the UK get it for me.

Seller had it listed for £280 plus £8.75 postage. It was opened and he said he used it for 2 weeks but it looks pretty much mint condition.

    Here it is: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200897127212?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Well I want one, but haven't actually ordered yet due to massive delays which sound very frustrating. So if you're stuck.... :)

My order is pending. I ordered last week using parcel motel. Google said shipping would be less than one week. Well tomorrow is one week and no sign of anything happening. I'm afraid to contact them in case anything fecks up. I shouldn't be getting worked up over a phone.
