What the heck are LG / Google doing if this is true!?! - http://bgr.com/2013/01/11/nexus-4-successor-rumor-289453/
Its only a rumour and the first one of its kind. You really have to take it with a pinch of salt at this stage.

LG surely have ruined their chances of making the next Nexus phone anyhow, or hopefully anyhow. Samsung please, although I think Motorola might well be in with a shout, although Google have not said anything about it yet.

Complete disaster of a launch, being unable to keep up with demand, forcing Google into a public apology. I doubt it went down too well in the boardroom.

That doesn't make it LG's fault though. Is the shortage due to Google ordering too few or LG not being able to produce what Google ordered? Given that Nexus devices haven't been huge sellers I imagine that Google underestimated demand and ordered too few.

If Google communicated with its customers as to what's happening it wouldn't be as bad. Google's silence and treatment of customers is unforgivable.

I would make a guess that it will arrive around the summer. June to September. But even then we pushing to nearly a year since it was launched. How long was the Galaxy Nexus out before the N4s announcement?

Hey guys, hoping to follow the steps I've learned here to get a 32gb Nexus 10 (if they ever come back in stock).

Have tunnelbear to access the UK play store, am setting up a parcel motel account too.

Question - I've seen some people have the order cancel at the billing stage and want to avoid this. I have used Google wallet once before from my account, and linked it with my Irish credit card.

Should I use a different google account and/or set up a virtual credit card via entropay, using the parcel motel address as the billing address?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I set up a new account initially and used Irish CC with parcel motel address. Google cancelled the order and froze the account looking for proof of address. In the end I just ordered through my own account with parcel motel postcode and own address (as billing address). Order was cancelled and account frozen again but I just sent them proof of address and account was unfrozen. I then reordered again and its all been fine so far.

I'm not sure if there's a way around them looking for proof of address on the CC so it might be easiest just to face it head on (like I did the second time). On the other hand they might not be as tight on checking it now after the initial rush is over. You could try some kind of work around but it might just delay things in the long run. That's what happened to me :)

My first order was cancelled too. I had home address as billing address and added parcelmotel as delivery. My account was frozen. I had to send proof of address and the account was reactivated. I reordered the phone and I'm waiting like everyone else since.

just out of interest, who's got a phone shipped recently? and when was it ordered?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 725 ✭✭✭talking_walnut

Nothing solid but the info on my Play account has been updated to give the shipping estimate as Jan 30th. I ordered on the 10 Dec so this would be just inside my original estimate.

To check your one, login to Google Play and select "My Orders & Settings" down the bottom. It'll be on the page somewhere.

XDA shows updates for a good number of people who'd ordered on the 5th Dec :-)

Ya. Hopefully it means there's a shipment coming in in the next week or 2. I'm pretty sure my old SGS1 has been getting worse ever since I ordered the N4 :D

Yeah same here. Going to be away the first 2 weeks of February so hopefully I can get someone to pick mine up from parcel motel for me!

I ordered mine on the 5th December and on the 2nd January the status changed to estimated delivery date 16th.
Still no money taken from my card though :/

Anyone know the likelihood of delivery being attempted today?

Today my shipping estimate on Play has changed to January 5th. Still pending on Google Wallet. Ordered on December 4th with a 4-5 week shipping time.

So as of today, the estimated ship date is 11 days ago. Fantastic.

Is it shipping estimate or delivery estimate?

Pretty poor all the same being in the past!

Shipping estimate. My 'date' (whatever that is) changed from December 4th or 5th (can't remember) to January 2nd a few weeks ago. Think the 'status' just said 'pre-order'. Then today they come up with January 5th as a shipping estimate.

Meanwhile, Google Wallet still says Google Commerce Ltd. received my order on December 5th, with no changes since then.

A hold was put on the money in my account twice, but it's all back in there now.

You know, lately I've come to the conclusion that there's nothing wrong with my Galaxy S2. Maybe I should just cancel.

How much did you pay for it and where did you get it do you mind me asking?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,719 ✭✭✭Bluefoam

It was a grey import, I bought it in the Middle East, but it originated in South East Asia.

I noticed you never mentioned how much it set you back? Also when you say your ordered it on Monday and received it on Monday how many weeks were in between those 2 Monday's and if you don't mind me asking where did you order it from?

It cost just less than €500. I ordered it last Monday just before lunch, the phone was delivered to my office about two hours later. No delivery charge. Ordered from mygsm.me, I negotiated the price over the phone & it was cash on delivery.

Ah... but the most crucial point you're leaving out here is that you're in the middle east and so is that site, so if someone here in Ireland, it would take a number of days / weeks.
