I think when referring to TRR, it's always important to put the words 'self proclaimed' before any attribute referring to him;).

It was actually my mammy who told me I was a handsome divil :D Great run marthastew but you didn't need a pacer today, in fact everybody who was in that group looked really strong. Great stuff from the hubby, he really dug in those last few miles

I have to say a big thanks to the 1:45 pacers at the Meath Spring Marathon - I stayed with them till the last big hill (little hill) then fell about 50 metres behind them but they came back for me and dragged me over the line as last of their Group in 1:44:58. I just need a bit of a recovery now ( Double big thanks to the pacers)

    It definitely felt like it!

Big thanks to the 1:45 lads from me too. Just held on up that little big hill and pushed on towards the end for 1:44:46.

    Great event organised by Bohermeen.

    Hi Jim,

You are very welcome. We had a great day pacing and are delighted we were able to help. Best of luck in Barcelona.

    Chris (1.45 pacer)

Perfect pacing but think I need to learn to flog myself rather than running to my predicted boards time

Perfect conditions and enjoyable race. Felt the course may have run slightly long. Running with Meno was like running with a metronome.

    Well done everybody.

Yes it was a great event but did anybody else think the car parking situation was a bit all over the shop? Now I need to stress that I was late going down so was partially my own fault. Having said that they did deal with it quite well in the end although it was responsible for the half starting ~10 minutes too late. Will definitely try to race this one next year, a decent course and great value at 20 odd quid. Decent prize structure as well I heard although don't ask CL as she is a coy as a German bond holder.

Running with Meno was like running with a metronome.

    For 7 miles anyway

Some great times today - I got my own PB at 1h32m56 (also managed PB at 5k,5m,10k and 10m according to the Garmin, but then again faded badly after mile 7). Also congrats to Bohermeen AC - great organisation (even the weather, don't know how you did it!)

Concur!! super race and atmosphere!! but thats 2nd year that race was delayed.... and second year i clocked 13.2 on my garmin! thats a bit much for me!! reckon its at least 100mts short!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,759 ✭✭✭belcarra

Looking back afterwards a really enjoyable race, even if it felt otherwise during it!
My report is here for anyone that may be interested.

    Well done Bohermeen!
(@TRR - I was in the same boat as yourself regarding the parking/arriving later than planned. Only negative really was having to run a mile just to make the race start but it served as a good warm-up anyways!)

My time was just a few secs ahead of yours...we must have been side-by-side at some stage!

I passed a couple of people with red tops in the last mile straight...were you wearing glasses?
I was in a blue top.

Sorry! long i ment to say....

13.2 is what I'd expect on the Garmin, it's never bang on and you always run longer. Whatever about the delay at the start the course was spot on.

Super run from you Ian, sets you up nicely for London. Wonder if you can bear that auld fellah Abhainn's time from last year, pint in it for you if you can :)

Yes I was and I think I remember you overtaking me near the end alright - I didn't have much left at that stage

Gosh, I can't place you Tattycoram - there was so many wearing black! If there are photos from the race, I'll probably recognise you then :)

I developed a nice black middle toe, it made my kids scream! Should be ok in a couple of days - don't worry, I won't post a photo of it!

Great race, and a nice course, if a bit smelly in places with the silage...

Great to finally say hello to Raycun (on the start line) and TRR fixing his pacers balloon just before the off...

Finished in 1:30:59, probably 2 minutes faster that i expected, with a 6:30 last mile up the hill... Happy with that...

Hats off to Bohermeen for a really great race, a credit to all involved in organising the event.

The course, marshalling, after race refreshments and overall atmosphere were top notch and great value.

You can see that this is a "runners first" event organised by people that love running.

Yes the small delay at the start was a slight pain but difficult to see what the organisers could have done to avoid it - blame the late comers.

    Lex
