Over a month since I started this thread and I finally have tickets! :) Thanks to everyone for all the feedback, ye have all been more than helpful and I really appreciate it! Roll on Sunday! By the way, I have an option between a ticket for the Upper Cusack or Terrace (Nally/Hill) Really unsure on what to do. Seems half of Galway is up the Hill and it's sounding like its going to be great craic altogether, then again a seated ticket is a seated ticket. Any opinions guys? Thanks!

    Congrats.

Depends where on the Upper Cusack. I was in 701 for the Kilkenny Tipperary game, second row back, right along the square in front of the Hill. For analysing the game it was perfect. But if you're there for the craic you'd be better on the Hill I'd say.

Thank you! 707, row W shock is 23 rows back, too far back I wonder? True, I'd imagine the craic in the Hill will be brilliant! Haven't been there since the '05 final and it was the '01 semi-final before that! Hard to recall the view! Any advice or opinions on views from the Hill anyone?

Personally, I'm not a Hill man myself. I don't really like standing behind the goals at hurling matches, too much that you miss at the far end. That said, if you get near the back of the Hill, you've a good vantage point for most of the field. Once your eyesight is up to scratch you'll see most of the play. But you might find yourself looking at the big screen a lot (which is a second or two behind play).

True that! Row W being 23 rows back too, bit of a nuisance maybe?! Eye sight is perfect :) Leaning towards the Hill at the moment. Front of the Hill wound be close to the action but only at one goal I suppose?! Hmmmmmmm?

To be fair, he just said he hasn't been on the Hill since then, not that he hasn't been at a match.

Oh you silly, silly person :) Have a read through this thread, please! You'll also see that I'm the OP and you'll better understand my situation. I've been to every Galway game possible since I started going to them at a young age. I haven't been in the Hill since '01 and '05, THE HILL, not a Galway game, THE HILL! The effort genuine fans like myself and others go through to get tickets for days like Sunday having been to all the other games in difficult enough without having to put up with comments like yours! I really hope you don't have a ticket instead of a genuine fan who will miss out on Sunday because he/she couldn't get connected.

Why don't people like you just get a season ticket??

Finally managed to get some!! thankfully!! They're Davin stand...good view from there? Looks to be behind goalposts so not betting on it...

In my opinion and from past experiences there are no bad seats in Croke Park, just some are better than others obviously. As you'll see above I'm stuck between what ticket to take. All in all I'm delighted I'll be there and I really can't wait for Sunday, win or lose!

I've ended up with two spare tickets for the hurling this Sunday, being a Donegal man I'd love to swap them for tickets to the football rather than sell them.

    Any takers?!

Question for all the swappers: Did ye buy hurling final tickets with the intention of going or did ye buy with the intention of swapping for football tickets? I ask because I never really talk to complete neutrals who go to finals without a senior/minor team involved. Wonder what percentage of people would be complete neutrals at the match?

I bought for myself, my other half and her family (from Galway). I've ended up with two spare as a source that I had asked and who said they wouldn't have any has come up with a pair this morning.

That said I have been at the last two hurling finals as a neutral and was at the football final 2 years ago as a neutral as well. I'd also regularly go to the football QF double headers as a neutral as they are great value.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,117 ✭✭✭✭MrJoeSoap

I'm heading to the 7's on Saturday and heading in early to Drumcondra on Sunday in search of four tickets (not necessarily together), so if anyone can help out it would be greatly appreciated.

AI day is the biggest neutral day of the year, hurling even more so than football.

I don't have football tickets but I am in desperate need of 2 tickets??

I think it's pretty obvious by this point that very few people will be willing to trade football tickets for hurling tickets, especially when the football final contains such a unique pairing. Hurling tickets are desirable, football tickets are gold dust.

I have 2 tickets for the hurling final, one in Cusack Lower 307 row U, and the other in the Cusack Upper (can't remember the section).

I have one ticket for the upper Cusack if it's anywhere near your ticket for the upper section. It's section 707. Apart from that I only have two together in the Nally Tereace?!

I find that there are loads of people at the hurling finals who are complete neutrals. Last year I was sitting beside a few people from west Cork!

I was at the Hurling final last year and looking to go again this year, wasn't quite a neutral last year as I was cheering on the Dubs in the minor game, but I'd go every year if it was possible. Dublin in the minors again this year, so same again on Sunday hopefully.

Same with the Munster Final, I'd go every year if I could. Though the search for tickets tends to be slightly easier in Munster. :)

In the big tree or the likes before the game, advertise swapping the lower for an upper. You'll get loads of offers. Then when in the stadium, ask someone on his own who's near your child would he mind swapping seats with you. When a child's involved you'll find people very accommodating
