They are cheaper. 45 for the hill and 80
for the stand is what I am hearing. Not sure if they go to other counties or not. Whenever Dublin play they usually take up residence there.

That's what I'm reffering to, Dublin always seem to have the hill filled whenever they play, and fair play to them on that point, but I was just wondering how they manage to do that, not sure how else to word it but do they get first preferance as such to the hill tickets?

No the other county get their fair share of te hill tickets also.

What tends to happen is they get swapped for stand tickets by Dubs who prefer to be on the hill.

Last year Kerry only asked for a very small number of Hill tickets (300-500). They wanted most of their allocation as stand tickets.

The majority of supporters outside Dublin would prefer to pay extra to sit in the stands.
This majority increases significantly when Dublin are playing, because not many supporters want to be in a zone which is almost completely taken up by the opposition.

My ticket for the 1992 final came from Boston, might have to chase up some old numbers & try my luck this time!

I got 2 from Pittsburg last year.

Every GAA club gets 6. Including those outside of Ireland.

Every GAA club gets 2. You might get more if your county is in the minor, and your allocation (in Dublin anyway) is also affected by how big your club is, the size of the juvenile section, etc. Our club only got 2 last year for the hurling, even though Dublin were in the minor (fair enough, our club has no minor section).

The tickets for the final last year for the Hill were 40 euro as for the Dubs getting so many tickets for the Hill this could also be down to a lot of them having a Parnell pass,My father managed to get an extra ticket for one of the lads that goes to all the games(non Parnell pass holder) from a mate of his whose brother is a member of a GAA club down the country.

i keep telling people to get the season ticket, it's great value especially if you are from a strong county, us carlow people don't have much use for it though:(

What kind of prices could someone expect to pay for a ticket from a tout outside the stadium?

    170e i paid last year for Hill16

At the early bird 75 Euro price it's still great value even if your county only has three or four home games in the league and two championship games (it's a fiver off all championship games after the first which is inclusive). You get to attend any NFL match you want to attend, league semi-final and final and the club hurling and football finals, senior, intermediate and junior. I think any even mostly-attending supporters should be able to get great value from the season tickets, even removed from the preferential seating. It really is a very good initative and more would purchase them if they knew just how generous a package it is.

yeah it's a great deal, i would get one myself only i get a season ticket through club carlow, that covers home league games and county finals, it's not as good of a deal but the money goes towards the teams

nothing new about that or the figures quoted.
What is the story with allocations. According to this article in last years Indo approx 59k tickets are allocated amongst the county boards (including the competing teams).
    http://www.independent.ie/sport/gaelic-football/allireland-final-ticket-allocation-2874226.html

If its 12k per senior team, thats less than 50% of the allocation. I hears somewhere its 2 tickets per club nationwide, but sure thats only another 5k. Would love to know what the formula is out of curiosity

Should ask the sellers for the exact seat numbers. Then report these seat numbers to the GAA with a link to the tickets. They'll be able to see which club or organisation these tickets were allocated to and make sure they don't get any more in future.

Still no luck, hearing of more and more people getting tickets and others selling them for crazy prices?! Disheartening after being to one of the two opening fixtures, the Leinster Final and Semi-Final. The search continues... most of my contacts won't have anything until nearer the day if anything at all so I remain optimistic :)

Why are you willing to pay over face value?

If people were not willing to pay > face value, then there would be no touts and usually the most genuine fans would end up with the tickets....

Back in 2006 i walked around croker holding a sign sayin "tickets wanted" for both the dublin and kerry match. It paid off and i got to see mayo play. This time round it would be nice not have to do that.

I am lookin for two tickets, one for me and one for my dad. Can anyone help me out?

    Sean,

I hear there's plenty going round at some clubs. At €80 for stand tickets, they are not cheap in these recessionary times.

Football tickets will be another matter. The GAA could fill a 100,000 seater stadium with Donegal and Mayo fans this year.
