Sons of Struth alluding that they have proof of Ashley being involved with Whyte as early as 2011.

    And the SFA ?

Looks like Ashley has just done the checkmate move

If there is no EGM called soon then I fear so...

RST are seeking legal advice to try and stop Ashley.

Does that mean that the new firm semi is now the old firm semi, with the previous old firm now becoming the new firm?

The "New Firm" tag has already been used. It was coined for Dundee United v Aberdeen in the '80's when they were top dogs in Scotland for a spell. They'll have to come up with some other label.

I dont follow these things closely enough but I keep up with the news, I take it the impression here is Ashley is trying to screw you guys and is stripping the assets?

I know I am an Aberdeen fan. It was an in no way serious comment about the 2 semis, but never mind

I forgot United v Aberdeen is the other semi. The media do like their labels though, I think they have missed "The Old Firm" more than anyone.

Snow showers in Glasgow tonight although it looks as if the Rangers - Hearts game is still on. Maybe they will play with an orange ball :pac:

Brutal game for the players. Surface is stopping the ball moving properly and it looks dangerous. Madden already had a word with the managers about calling it off, giving it another few minutes.

And it's off. Should never have been on really.

With their cashflow problems, they cant afford to see too many matches called off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,081 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

With the amount of snow since 4pm, the game should have been off before it started

What happened to the undersoil heating at Ibrox?

What happened to the undersoil heating at Ibrox?

According to the spokesman it has been on all day but hey ho believe it if you want

On the table but not in the accounts.

    Celtic Park tonight

Undersoil heating on aswell as the artificial lights, no match on.

If Ibrox staff did their job right instead of counting pennies, the pitch would have been playable

Really don't talk pish the board say don't switch it on they don't. The thing with the money being there is important but well we will have to see what happens

Thats some tripe you are spouting now.

A match on TV and they dont put on undersoil heating for enough time with the current weather forecasts? They cut a corner and were exposed like the lack of crowd control outside the stadium afterwards, Hearts buses being wrecked as we speak

Scottish Football was summed up well tonight as it descended into a bunch of old men whining about wanting clarification over some snow, Celtic fans claiming some sort of one upman over Rangers because their undersoil heating was better and journalists prayed to whatever god they felt would lead to the Rangers support causing some sort of trouble as they protested against Ashley.

    Pretty grim to be honest.

A picture of another pitch in Glasgow thats fit for purpose despite the weather is getting the one up alright!

Its not a case of having a better undersoil heating, its a case of having it on for a proper amount of time. Has Ibrox fallen to the level of Fir Park or something??

How do you protest Ashley by vandalising away supporters buses and kicking people on the ground?

Really you are surprised this board did this. They believe it makes there point for following Ashley money. I wonder why there is a lack of security and that he spivs are happy to see these morons act like this. And let's be straight here they can make sure there's no trouble at other games. Once again I wonder why. Wel I don't really

Tell me do you not find it strange this happened tonight when it has not happened for years and years

Of course I'm not surprised. Its been clear in every post I made this evening. The match was pushed ahead this evening for cashflow. I assumed undersoil was on but looking at pictures of another stadium in the same city, i.e. Celtic Park, its clear that it wasnt on for the required length of time if on at all. Its not petty one up man ship, its looking at something that can be reasonably compared and seeing spivs and chancers at their finest and calling it for what it is.

Also, hard to see money going from on table offers into accounts when a battle for control is slowly underway.

But we know there is money there if for no other reason it makes it very difficult for the spivs to put us I to admin. As for the morons who attacked the Hearts busses I would love to see them all jailed for a very long time but it won't happen as the courts are to soft

There isnt that much money, hence all the people offering loans and what not for equity/controlling shares. Potential loans dont sort out cash flow problems, its just buying time. I'm not suggesting they are trying to put you into admin at the moment, I'm saying their cost cutting backfired spectacularly. Playing staff is the biggest cost and thats where they should be starting.

The game being cancelled was a farce, should probably never have been played in the first place if there is no money for the undersoil heating.

As for the protest: No more red cards or some songs, but actual protest where fans came pretty close to breaking through the police cordon and towards the director's box.

The so called riot was nothing more than some handbags near the away end, stewards did their job.
