    Get a life.

    edit:
Btw, the idiot at Livingston wasn't fired, he resigned without being forced to do so.
The guy's twitter is full of bigotry, so no real loss.

To be fair, that is what football fans do alot, there is always slagging of previously successful clubs who have fallen by the wayside. Liverpool fans got dogs abuse under Hodgson, Man United got it last year, I would continually slag Cork/Derry fans about their brief period of not existing (similar to Rangers really), why should Rangers be any different?

A long standing culture of entitlement has bred them to think like this. I'm not trying to have a dig there either - it genuinely explains why the backlash is always so aggressive and over the top whenever they are actually brought to task and have the rules applied to them.

There is slagging between fans of all clubs (god knows I've taken part in it :pac: ), and then there is just outright pathetic behaviour by a small part of fans (no doubt there's Rangers fans out there who partake in it too).

Some of the Celtic fans in this thread definitely fall under the second category, talk about 'being bred into a culture' and all that.

It comes across as pretty unhealthy behaviour.

I don't completely disagree, but I don't think a dig by the Livingston program writer comes into that category.

Given his comments on social media I beg to differ, he seems to have a pretty strong hatred towards Rangers that goes further than just football rivalry.

I agree he obviously does hate Rangers, although your hope that it goes beyond football seems completely unfounded from what I've seen (maybe you have evidence idk). Let's not forget that your club, be it old or current, cheated Scottish football on a monumental scale. There are plenty of reasons to despise your club that do not resort to unsavoury nonsense like religion.

Still no reason for the witch hunt. What about the numerous Rangers men that have historically filled positions in the SFA etc? Surely more important than some lower league match program writer.

Easy to know people have a point when Jelle tries to deflect the conversation onto a red herring.

so are the the the rangers fans here confident they can be promoted this year?? and if so do you reckon you can compete with hamilton celtic next season? I reckon you will be a mid league side for at least a few years if you do get promoted..

If McCoist is still in charge we will be very lucky to go up and I agree mid table is the best we can expect unless there are massive changes at the club

Probably, but it won't be by finishing first.

As BBE said: A lot depends on whether McCoist stays or not.

As in, he'll help or hinder their chances?

No one has asked you to pretend anything so stop being silly. Disagreeing with you is not spitting the dummy lets face it in the grand scheme of things what you say or do or believe is of no consequence to any Rangers fan.

You know your sheer audacity that you think you matter really makes me laugh

You are 100% right. What he/me/any fan of any other club does or believes is of no consequence to fans of the rangers.

The facts on the other hand...........

    Hinder.

He might get us promoted, but that's to be expected. But the issue will be to get back to the top, teams like Aberdeen have improved a lot of and they're all better managed than Rangers imo.

Today's protest actions were a farce. Like something you'd see on a terrible hidden camera show.

To be honest with you it was a terrible idea for a protest the only ones who would have been pissed off were ordinary workers trying to earn a bob or two

I'll tell the people involved you think so.

The Daily Mail ran a story about it so it had the desired effect.

It had absolutely no effect. Take it from someone who's bills get paid by Mike Ashley.

Bunch of grown men acting like idiots and disrupting ordinary people's lives.

The desired effect is to show Ashley he is not wanted.

By getting the attention that message was put across clearly.

Is Ashley worse that what you currently have?

Newcastle are a basketcase no matter who's in charge of the club. Mike Ashley doesnt have £2bn in his back pocket by being a bad businessman. Several people on your board that need to be put out to pasture.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

    They're not mutually exclusive.

The people behind the protest are the same that have arranged protests during matches against the current board.

The reason for this is that Ashley is not in it for the good of the club, he is merely taking advantage of the misery at Rangers.

He's no better than the current owners as far as I'm concerned.
The fact he seems quite friendly with Sandy Easdale is reason enough not to want him anywhere near the club.

Who would be investing for the "good of the club"?

Any investor you get, or most clubs for that matter, will be looking for a return in the medium term. These days, only elite clubs will have investors sinking money without prospect of return.

Most investors are looking to improve the 'good of the club' so that they can make money from that.

Rangers for a few years now have been different in that they've been a prime opportunity for people to make a quick buck while worsening the fortunes of the club so I can somewhat understand the Rangers fans suspicion over someone who has a bad reputation as a football club owner.

I don't know if Ashley falls into that category though. I don't think asset stripping has ever been anything like an issue at Newcastle though.

That right there is an admission of the pointlessness of it. Ashley knows he is hated by Newcastle, but cares not a jot.

Do you think Rangers fans hatred of him will give him any sleepless nights? Make him think twice about acquiring the badge and trademarks of the club?

Ashley does what he wants and doesn't care what anyone thinks. If he thinks he can make money he'll do what he wants to make it. Offering E1 to teenagers on minimum wage is ridiculous, pointless and childish and will have no affect on Ashley.

Although I did find it funny to see. Looking forward to seeing stages 2 and 3 too.

At the very most, yesterdays stunt cost Mike Ashley £1000, I'm sure the guy is terrified of what is to follow.
