    Munster out to +4 now.

Personally I think the best bet is Connacht +3. I like the little extra security of the +3 given how many times Connacht lost marginally last season, think they got 7/8 losing bonus points. Also London Irish +8 against Saracens looks decent, LI pummeled Munster last weekend and have Shaun Edwards on board this season as defence coach. I'd say they are a good bet for at least a LBP.

So I stuck on a little accum:

    Connacht +3
    Ulster to win
    London Irish +8

    €5.73 paid out on a €1 stake.

    Munster now out to +5.

    Scarlets down to -3pts.

Its always happening with rugby betting. You see some good odds and you only have a day or half a day to get on.

I believe "The early bird catches the worm" applies to opening round of Pro12 anyhow

Not sure about London Irish Thomond. Tagi isnt a 12, Yarde isnt the greatest defender, and O 'Leary has alot improvement to make. good weather, and if Sarries get a lead they could really open them up with Hodgson running that backline instead of Farrell. Not much creedence being given to Sarries backline with the apparent beauty of Irish's.

Connacht, Ulster and Edinburgh treble (scratch) returns 6.24. Worth €20, I think given the teams that have been named thus far.

Bookies got smarter. Come in to 4.71 now. Not as enticing but still not a bad price.

I'd agree, DKR. Sarries are half underrated, half vilified by many. They've a really solid side with decent players throughout and no particularly weak area. They've made few enough signings this summer but two of them are players that will slot straight into the first team in Hargreaves and Ashton. Can't see LI living with them tomorrow. Saracens have the better side and depth off the bench.

Incidentally, Eoin Sheriff, former Leinster player, is on the bench for them tomorrow.

Just looking at Saracens last season. At home they finished with a points difference of +69. At home, Leicester finished with +150. Signing the likes of Ashton is a step in the right direction.

If you're willing to take a chance and guess what the teams will be you might have a slight edge.

    Munster getting into value territory.

thanks Ducky. I've always a rugby punter but due to work the past year ive only been able to maintain a medium intersest with a few bets here and there. Circumstances have changed though and two of us suddenly have piles of time on our hands now!

Personally I like reading as many opinions as possible hence why im here and not solely on our forum. I didn't know there was a decent bit of betting chat on here and it's good to see. To be honest we only started the site for one aim- somewhere to have live chat during matchdays without having to refresh like you do on most forums ( we would have been on rugbynetwork alot living in england, and you couldnt have a yap- twomint used to be good on justin tv but he's long gone it seems). The rest just of the site kind of just blossomed out when we realised there's no real go-to place online for casual/semi-serious rugby punters.... bar this place of course :D

Good call, they're getting hockeyed. :(

Done the Scarlets, Edinburgh double. Oh well if it loses theres some compensation but I fancy those teams to win.

Just need Scarlets and Edinburgh to pick up LBP's at worst for a tasty 12 fold to come in

Bad day at the office - again! :(

More than 16.5 in total in 1st Half (13)

    Connacht -3

    The Draw

Ospreys and Edinburgh double for me at 2.99 with PP

if you're going to get it wrong, you may as well get it wrong with two results that are emotionally if not financially easy to take!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,881 ✭✭✭PhatPiggins

yup, they will open, but I don't think they'll drift at all.

Cough, cough. Leinster out to 2.5 (from 2.2) Munster in to 4 (from 6.5) and the Ospreys the same on 5.

I'll have to rework the maths

from 1.23 to 1.17 (cough told ya - Munster getting beat would've opened them to 7 maybe though)

    47% Lei
    30% Mun
    23% Osp

Nearly not worth it now, bit of an over reaction to Munster beating Edinburgh.

For next weekend, PP are offering Grenoble -11 at home to Mont-de-Marsan. This is a huge game for both sides, particularly for MdM who badly need points in this fixture since their next game is a write off (home to Clermont).

Previous Results: Grenoble (8th position, 8 points)

Week 1: Won at Bordeaux Begles 28-29
Week 2: Lost at Castres 30-13
Week 3: Won at home to SF 26-12

    Previous Results: Mont-de-Marsan (14th position, 0 points)

Week 1: Lost at Biarritz 35-10
Week 2: Lost at Toulouse 37-22 (They were winning in the second half and threw it away)
Week 3: Lost at home to Toulon 15-29

As I said above, Mont de Marsan will target a return from this game, so there's always a danger of MdM playing tight and the score remaining low. On the flip side, Grenoble will be desperate both to win and deny MdM a LBP.

My view is if Grenoble can beat Stade Francais by 14 at home, then they are likely to win by more than 11 at home to Mont de Marsan. They have a bit of momentum from their 2/3 wins and will look to build on that.

decent banker bet offering up on dkr, anyone gamey? ie, anyone see any major flaws?

    Clermont 1/7 (home v bordeaux)
    Toulouse 1/50 (home v Agen)
    Saracens 1/2 (away v Sale)
    Leicester 1/16 (home v Worcester)
New Zealand 1/80 (home v Argentina)
Harlequins 1/25 (home v London Welsh)
    Toulon 1/50 (home v bordeaux)

Only danger I can see is Sarries

New Zealand -25 v Argentina. That seem ok?

Same odds but different bet, -11 at halftime.

Dan Carter is out injured but Aaron Cruden is an able replacement but I think the halftime bet is the safer one.
