God, that's tough, makes this pregnancy even more special for you so!! It'll be lovely when you can share the good news.. We're gonna keep the news to ourselves for a while, as hard as it is!! My symptoms come and go, but I know it's a good sign when I have them!!! It's great hearing others have the same symptoms, shows I'm not alone :)

Hi, just found out I'm pregnant, was so shocked that I took SIX tests!!! Very unexpected but delighted! I'm due 4th of April apparently, I'm really nervous and hope everything is ok. I have dragging pains across my stomach like something is being stretched inside and i keep having to pee and I feel a little sick, not to mention the sore boobs!

Great to find others who are in the same boat. I went to the doc yesterday, hopefully all will be well!

My belly is so bloated it's twice the size! Feeling a bit ill and my smell is all weird and I'm wrecked tired oh and heartburn.

Really scared and hope that everything goes ok it's such early days.....

Congrats sara and digs!! Exciting times for ye both!! I think we're all a bag of nerves!! Can't wait for 12 weeks so we can start telling people. Booked an early scan for the end of the month, really looking forward to it.

The cramps are annoying but you forget them after a few days.. Got a small bit of sickness at the weekend but fine ever since, kind of wishing it would come back so I can feel pregnant!! Might regret those words :)

Thanks Corkgirl and congrats to you too!! Congrats Digs!

I booked an early scan too for the 22 of August, I'll be 8 weeks then, I just want to make sure everything is ok! The nerves are driving me mad! roll on the 12 week mark!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

I know I am even nervous writing it all down but am determined to enjoy every minute of it.

I was diagnosed with PCOS 8years ago so was always worried this day wouldn't come, luckily enough we didn't have too much trouble conceiving :):)

Am trying my hardest to stop my hubby from telling everyone, poor fella is bursting to tell someone :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6 sara317

Ha ha Digs, my boyfriend is the same, he'd have it all over facebook if i didn't stop him!! You're about a week behind me and I had PMS cramps up until this week, convinced I was getting my period that's why I didn't think I was preggers, it's all normal apparently, I'm like you just wishing the next 7 weeks would just hurry up so I can feel a bit less worried!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 174 ✭✭corkgirl17

It's so hard keeping it to yourself, I'm in the uk at the moment so keeping it a secret is a little easier cos my family is in Ireland but if I was at home, they'd know straight away!! As soon as I refused a glass of wine the cat would be out of the bag!!! My brother is visiting at the end I the month so he'll be the first person we'll tell and he'll be sworn to secrecy!!!

I'm trying not to talk about babies too much, don't want to jinx anything but can't help looking at clothes and buggies online!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

I am going away for the weekend with family, don't know what I'll do, my mum will know, the anti biotics routine won't wash with her!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6 sara317

I couldn't help but tell my mother and my sister, god forbid if anything bad happened then at least they would know and be there for me. Also I couldn't help it I was bursting to tell people! That and the fact they would know immediately cos I smoke and have come off them and not having a drink...I'd be busted straight away!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 174 ✭✭corkgirl17

Ooh that's gonna be hard at a family weekend, If you don't do rounds you might be able to pretend your drinking, buying drinks that could be alcoholic!!

Fair play Sara for giving up the cigarettes!! You must be going mad giving up all your vices... I miss wine, especially now on a Friday, usually enjoy a couple of glasses to wind down after the week at work.. Will have to be happy with shloer!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Well done on the smokes Sara, will be worth it in the end! I am with you on the wine corkgirl, would murder a glass!!

Think I am going to have to tell my mum and dad, was toying with the idea anyway, would be good to have their support if something went wrong. It would be an impossible weekend otherwise, we are staying in the same accomodation and my dad is a divil for insisting on buying drinks so would be so obvious....

Would love to tell my sister but she's ten years younger than me and as excited as she would be I'd hate to dissapoint her if something did go wrong...My brother is getting married soon so will keep it as an wedding present for him :p:rolleyes:

Thanks all re the smokes! it's not easy especially in work because it's stressful enough in there at the moment but I couldn't smoke I'd be too guilty if anything happened, I'm the same, nothing beats a glass of wine on a Friday, oh well, a cup of tea will have to do!!

Congrats Sarah C11, u certainly will have your hands full!!!!

Hope everything went ok at the family thing Digs.

Are any of ye really really bloated? I look fairly big already!Gone up a cup size already in my boobs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 174 ✭✭corkgirl17

hi girls, how are you all feeling?I'm not too bad,i get the slump in the middle of the day and try to grab an hour if i can.I have started the dissapearing belly thing,i remember it with my 1st pregnancy, flat tummy in morn and big bloated belly looking like 3-4 months in the evening and don't get me started on the gas:)It was 15 weeks before I truly showed with me little girl,i think I will show sooner this time please god because my stomach musels are not at tight as they were then:)1st doc appt in the morn.Have any of you had yours yet?what should I expect.I haven't had a pregnancy in Ireland so it's all new:)

Had a lovely weekend thanks corkgirl and congrats sarahc!

Meggysmom I'll be interested to hear how you get on tomo. I am making my doc apt tomo for hopefully wed or thurs as my endocrinologist told me to get my thyroid checked asap incase my medication needs to be changed!

I am feeling good, still crampy but learning to ignore it! Have a path worn to the bathroom and am pretty tired, it's a funny kind of tiredness too like none I've felt before!! I amn't too bloated thank god. My boobs get sorer at different times of the day, I'm dd as it is, terrified to think how big they'll get haha!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 300 ✭✭meggysmom

hi digs, feeling pretty similar to that, boob pain worsens as the day goes on with odd sharp pain in them and yes the bathroom trips are getting more frequent, bring it all on i say:)we've waited so long for this I feel that the more symptoms the more relaxed I am.I will keep you posted on my appointment tomorrow.EDD is april 9th:)

Good luck today meggysmom, I have made my apt for Thursday!

Girls just a quick question for those of you that had some cramping. While it is certainly not severe or keeping me up at night the odd twinge or tug I am feeling I am more aware of it on my left side. Thinking of it when I get my period or ovulate etc I notice discomfort more on my left side so maybe I am more sensitive in that area...

An going to ask the doctor anyway but just thought I'd check with ye!

    Hope ye are all well...

Hey digs, I'm sure it's nothing, just like you said you're more sensitive in that area.
My cramping comes and goes, very dull pain.. Had a bit of spotting over the past few days, freaked me out a small bit but staying calm.. Seems normal enough from what I read online.

Lucky you having your appointment so soon. Mines not for another 2 1/2 weeks, meeting with a midwife!! Annoying that I have to make up the time in work for the appointment as they don't know im pregnant.

Hope meggysmom got on ok today!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Thanks corkgirl, I think I am just hyper sensitive, it comes and goes and is more of a tug or pull than an actual cramp...have an early scan booked for 24th August but will say it to the doc and if she thinks there's anything in it might try get one earlier so I can rule out ectopic pregnancy for my own peace of mind (the mind would convince you of anything!!) My husband has banned me from google....

I hope you are feeling good yourself? I have heard spotting is so so common, a friend of mine spotted the whole way through her pregnancy and has a very healthy 5month old boy now :)

I just booked my gp apoointment to confirm the pregnancy and get my bloods done, have no idea if it's the norm or not?

Thank god for the early scans!! Mines a week after yours.. Hopefully it'll put your mind at rest!!

I know what you mean about google, sometimes too much information is dangerous!!!

I rang my doctors and they just booked me in with the midwife. Although they may do things differently here in the uk.. Appointment takes an hour apparently and you get referred to your hospital of choice and they book your 12 week scan..

Ah I forgot you were in the UK, that makes sense that things are different, my gp will hopefully point me in the right direction of what to do next!

My breast tenderness literally dissapeared after lunch... They weren't too sore to begin with but it's worrying none the less..never thought I'd be wishing for sore boobs!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 300 ✭✭meggysmom

hey girls,so appointment went well today, not much went on really,my gp was thrilled of course as she was the one who referred me for my laproscopy and had a feeling I had endometreosis, anyway she filled out the form for my hospital(cavan) and said to come back at 12 weeks to see her, also I will hear from the hospital to see them at 12 weeks where they will scan and do bloods and that. She asked about early symptoms and confirmed with her own test.I booked an early scan for 1st september.I fly to portugal on the 10th,my gp was not mad about this but said as long as there is no severe cramping or spotting of any kind I could still go so fingers crossed.
These next few weeks are so nerve racking,i'm trying my best to stay calm and relax, which is hard with no vino and ciggies:)i'm finding new ways like taking time to go upstairs shut the door and read a good book.

Hey meggysmom, delighted things see going well for you. Reading your symptoms I think im much the same as you. I feel off at times but haven't been sick yet. 10 weeks this week so scan is fast approaching. I'm intrigued by your doc not bring happy with you going to Portugal. I'm going to new York when I'm about 16 weeks pregnant, had thought it would be ok?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Lovely to hear everything went well meggysmom, first step done! Am looking forward to my apt tomo.

Am v jealous of your holidays girls, would love to be jetting off somewhere!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 300 ✭✭meggysmom

hey yellowhen, well it seems that from week 5 to 12 is not advised if there is a high risk pregnancy or history of misscarriage and I think from week 35 or 36 it a no no.I have googled it and although flying itself does not pose a risk to pregnancy,it's more about something happening on a plane or in another country. It's my decision so I will see how things are going,I flew across America at 8 weeks on my last pregnancy so I'm not too worried about it really:)I'm jealous-New York is one of my favourite places......10 weeks,so glad all is looking good for you, keep us posted on the 12 week visit-how long and what it entails!
Digs good luck with your appointment this week:)

Doc apt went great thanks girls.

She took blood to check my thyroid as it is underactive. Asked me about my symptoms etc and told me everything was normal haha! They are faxing a letter to Holles Street (Dublin) where I am hoping to have baba and just went through the combined care procedure etc... She wants to see me back in 4 weeks :)

Glad to have it ticked off the list :) hope ye are all feelin good?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 300 ✭✭meggysmom

that's great digs, roll on the next 6 weeks or so I say,I really want to sit back and enjoy this pregnancy without to much stress. We have decided on 2 children so it will probably be my last pregnancy so once the 12 weeks are up I can hopefully lap it all up:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Oh I agree! Would love to go to bed for the next six weeks!

You have a tougher job with a little one to run around after and with a holiday to look forward to hopefully the time will fly by :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 174 ✭✭corkgirl17

Glad the appointments went well for everyone.. We're all counting down the next 6 weeks!!!

Anyone feeling really hungry all the time?? Gonna have to start bringing more food to work with me.. Was so hungry when I got home from work last night, we went out to eat and I ate so fast I'd say I felt sick and couldn't finish it!!

Bit anxious as I don't want to put on too much weight!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 300 ✭✭meggysmom

I go from starving to no appetite, feeling nauseous 1st thing in the morning which is not too bad, with other pregnancy it was all day but early days i guess-god don't no if it's the warm weather today but I am soooo bloated, had a t-shirt on and had to change it as was paranoid I looked pregnant:)i'm sure it wll disappear again in the morning!!

I'm the opposite actually, find I am having to remind myself to eat, I lost a bit of weight before conceiving so maybe it's a psyhcological thing? Like you corkgirl I am nervous about putting on a bit though....

I am so tired and headachey. Straight to bed after work, even though I don't sleep I just need to lie down! Am suffering with a tooth abcess too and unable to take painkillers which is a pain literally, going to the dentist on Saturday who also happens to be my cousin so will have to tell her I'm pregnant :o Hope she can take it out!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 174 ✭✭corkgirl17

I'm with you meggysmom on the bloatedness!! Cannot suck in my stomach any more..

Hope you got your tooth sorted out digs, mustn't be very nice if you can't take anything for the pain.

Have ye all got sensitive gums now? Mine are bleeding when I brush my teeth. Bought my husband one of those water flossers recently and used it the other night and oh my god, a mouth full of blood, was unreal!! Never again!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

I got the tooth out! Big relief but am in a good bit of pain now, no painkillers allowed or antibiotics so have to keep an eye on it big time for infections! She said to me I might notice my gums becoming more sensitive so it seems to be par for the course with pregnancy corkgirl! Hope they aren't hurting you or anything?

Any of you suffering from night sweats? I woke up absolutely drenched the last two nights, my husband didn't know what was going on

Hope the pain doesn't last long!!! Poor thing.. No, my gums aren't sore, just inflamed.. Might go to the dentist myself!

Finding it very warm during the night as well, my hair is curly every morning from sweating during the night..

Hi girls, how are you all feeling?Well week 6 has hit me with a bang, with total exhaustion and 3-4 times a night trips to the bathroom,Nauseous on and off mostly in the morning,it helps to eat.I'm usually a 3 meal a day person so I will have to get used to this snacking again,It's strange I feel comforted by the symptoms but it's still hard going, also I will be going bra shopping at the weekend!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

I hear ya meggsymom, I am just pooped, cannot muster the energy for anything. I will be lucky to have a job by the time please god I get to tell them I'm pregnant as I just yawned my way through another meeting....:(

My boobs are killer aswell, more so than before. Nausea made an entrance the last two days, was fairly ropey this morning but wore off by about 12. I agree about the comfort of the symptoms, at least it reassures us are beans are doing well :)

    Hope everyone else is well?

    Hi Ladies

I hope you don't mind me joining in. I am 5 1/2 - 6 weeks and nervous as hell. I have one daughter who is nearly 11 but had her when i was very young and i suppose all the scariness of pregnancy didn't hit me at all then - but boy am i making up for it now. I had a missed miscarriage last summer which probably explains it.

I work in a clinic so I had a scan yesterday which dated me at 5 1/2 weeks but from my last period i had myself around the 6 week mark, but i am hoping that is ok. I have another scan next week so I cant wait till then to hopefully see the heartbeat. My nerves are gone completely. I am booked into see my consultant on the 30th so i should be 7 1/2 or 8 weeks then.

    Sorry for rabbiting on :)

Welcome Claireie and congrats!! You are in good company here I think we are all a bag of nerves....well I am anyway :) I have my first scan next week so like you hoping I can hear babas heartbeat, very nervous but excited too!

Hope all goes smoothly for you!

welcome claireie and congrats on your bfp:)I think we can all understand your nervousness here, the 1st 12 weeks are hard,I wouldn't worry to much about the measurements and dating at the mo,it's so early and you may have ovulated a little later in the cycle,i'm sure things will become more clearer in the next couple of weeks, keep us posted:)
