I wonder if Nintendo will break tradition of charging 50% more in the US and then shafting Europe with a $1 = 1 euro price.

Surely highly unlikely? After all, $=€

I've a Megadrive 2 & Mega-CD 2 {Both CIB & Mint} that I'm half contemplating selling on. Is there any point in keeping them in storage & likely never going to be used?

I've got rid of loads of duplicates at this stage, what are they worth?

A NTSC copy of Superman 64 I'd say, something I just so happen to have.

Add to them a boxed SF2 Turbo Snes thats 60Hz & Region modded if I really wanna clear out doubles...

I wouldn't mind trading them tbh, I like reinvesting rather than just spending the money

What's most likely going to happen so that you'll need a replacement? The caps I'd say. And it's within your power to replace them.

So trade them all, make some space and then use the monies to buy stuff you don't already own ;)

    What games are they?

Super Sidekicks 2, Last Soldier (Korean Last Blade) and King of Fighters '99. Seems everyone with a MVS has them :)

Does that Last Soldier cart have it's original label? I wouldnt mind swapping something for it if it does - what though, I haven't a clue :D

By the way, you really should swap something for Ciderdude's Shock Troopers cart. By far one of the best games on the system.

Yeah Retr0, you really should, but Retr0 Night Of Passion vouchers are not accepted so it'll have to be something else!

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 53,321 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

Yes it has the original stick intact, slight crease in the centre since it was opened to check the boards.

I could trade with Ciderman but all I have to trade is GTA on the PSP and these 3 MVS carts I have, which I bought off ciderman :)

    Which GTA on the PSP?
    Chinatown?
    Or the ones that suck?

The game sits here, there's a Beers here in a couple of weeks, see if we can't some to an arrangement by then, you can take it home with you!

Unfulfilled male struggles with mindless consumerism, concludes retro-gaming is at fault*. I won't quote as it's quite lengthy:

After about a paragraph of reading, I did a TLDR scan through the rest. What utter balls.

Yup it was. So the games we are buying are only good in our minds due to nostalgia? How come then I only buy the games and systems I missed out on and find them usually as good as if not better than todays games?

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 34,757 CMod ✭✭✭✭CiDeRmAn

    Oh dear....
You'd get more sense from Atavan at 4am and after a bottle of gin and some drain cleaner chasers.

Some tosser who thinks that gaming is an evolutionary climb from simplicity to the sophistication of today and getting that and everything else wrong.

    So what does he recommend?
Does he throw out Deus Ex simply because the 360 version is out?
Did System Shock 2 bite the bullet because Bioshock came into his life?
Does he prefer Jungle Beat to Donkey Kong and assume those who prefer the reverse are sad losers?

    Seems so.

    What a fool.

I'd lump myself in on the 'what I missed out on' boat as well, and I know a lot of those I know who're of similar tastes would too, but the mindset that's mentioned in the article, however blanket, misguided, shoddily reasoned and outright-useless it may be, does exist, and is depressingly prevalent in some circles. A few glances at retrogamer.net's forums, or even RAGE's FB comment-boxes, confirm this.

I think the author's mistake was assuming it the majority behaviour, when even the most rudimentary of research, such as quick-glances at Racketboy, HG101 and whatnot, would confirm it's essentially the ugly minority of the lifestyle/hobby.

I'm looking forward to the WiiU, hopefully this year.

I should only have a half dozen games to finish on the 360 by then.....

    Too much to play!!!
