Is that a 3-in-1 button from gremlin solutions on your front panel by any chance? They're very handy for mame cabs, for the handful of extra admin options you need. You can use them to get five or six extra functions if your encoder's got a shifted keys feature, and there's only one standard sized extra hole to drill.

It is yeah,The hole was there already.
I have the top two buttons for coin P1 P2 and the bottom one for shift.
works well and keeps the panel clean.

Does anyone know where in the series SS2 the new challengers falls?
Its the one I've been practicing at.(still s hite)

Most mame cabs would use would of the *pac solutions though, & with those once you press & hold start - every button has a shifted function. I don't really see the need for any additional buttons, except if your not using a PAC product I suppose

Yeah. I guess it's just personal preference. I like to have dedicated buttons to press for all the important in-game functions, but i also like to keep the control panel free of button clutter, just for aesthetic reasons.

Those 3-in-1's are a perfect solution. You can stick one in your front panel, and you've got your dedicated admin buttons (as well as 3 extra hidden functions courtesy of your *pac) but in a nice unobtrusive layout that doesn't look out of place on most cabs or need the drilling of a lot of extra holes.

That way, when drunk folks are trying to negotiate the cab it's nice and easy to remember. Credits are the green button, pause is the yellow one, escape is the red one, and "start" launches the games. Simples.

It's the fourth SF2 title, from 1993, and the first one that was on the CPS2 board. It wasn't much good and was a bit of a flop commercially due to it's slower speed compared to it's predecessor.

Super street fighter 2 turbo came out in 1994, directly after it, and is one of the best versions and still played widely today, but it is beeeyatch hard, and really only good for 2 player mode, cos the AI is super cheap.

Street Fighter 2 Hyper fighting came before it, and it and the Champion edition from the previous year is old school street fighter 2 at it's best. Still one of my most played games on my cab.

Edit. Feck, beaten to it by enternow. D'oh!

That is very cool. $135 donation gets a console, so does that mean that it can be expected to RRP around €100 or so?

If it worked well and covered a lot of emulators that'd be a fair price for a lot of retro fun on the go, but there are other options for the same thing. A cracked PSP being the most obvious one.

I'd be very wary of any handheld open source console. You won't be getting premium parts so that LCD screen will be more Game Gear screen than PS Vita OLED screen.

I've a psp, psp go and a ds lite doing emu duties of retro games of all types, I get less use of them as time goes on though.
The idea of spending money on a Linux handheld is not attractive, I'd rather take a chance on a tablet that will run a bluetooth controller, or some Chinese effort for bugger all from oriental knock offs.com or similar website!

It emulates up to the PS1? Though I don't know about its capacity for PC games, I'll stick to the Xperia Play ;)

    That's absolutely awful.

Here's a silver lining though - at least you didn't buy it in HMV.

It looks alright but it's seems really short sighted not to have an arm processor. It could have taken advantage of ports from pandora emulators if it had. It's like that because because it came out of the dingoo community but I have my doubt if they'll ever get a decent psx emulator running on it. I might get one down the road if the kickstarters successful . My caanoo broke a few months ago so I've been using my xperia play for emulation and it's not that comfortable for long periods.

Speaking of emulation on handhelds looks like Exophase is developing a ds emulator for ARM devices. It looks pretty amazing.

It's certainly no Akihabara by any stretch of the imagination, but Yongsan in Seoul, S.Korea is certainly a nerd mecha. Took some snaps this weekend, might write a blogpost soon. Certainly going back this weekend simply to walk around and stare at all this beauty again.

I was out tech and retro shopping in South Korea and then went up to North Korea on a trip of Pyongyang and a few other places (with an official group as its the only real way).

Was trying to order a few small items from a well-established online store in the States. 5 items altogether, total less than twenty euro and very light too. Could probably all fit in a medium padded envelope without much bother.

    Automated US Mail shipping estimates:

The shipping rates from USPS are atrocious... similar thing happened to me with a Christmas gift I ordered from US Amazon.

My mate in the states ended up having to regift it as it was going to cost $80 to send over here... what a joke.
