That's not the point. It was easier for a reason. I'll say no more but this.... Make sure you try and read all the text. My decision to save the ag centre first was for a good reason...I love this game :)

    But it also had consequences....

I guess Ill have too suffer the consequences so :D

Have made 4 characters which had me stuck for about 2 days. Have one melee guy, are they not worth it?

Press space bar or click the top button on far left bottom corner of the screen which switches it to individual control allowing you to move the characters seperately. Leave one behind and drag a box over the others to move them as a group.

you can also go back to ranger citadel after your first mission and leave one of your recruits behind until you decide to take him/her again - just not the first four you picked

I just installed this coz i wanted a break from divinity: original sin but it looks like this is very similar gameplay. ah well, it looks good, reminds me of fallout tactics.

did want a break from the turn based of divinity but pleasantly surprised theres another great turn based old school type rpg out !

Arg, it's like XCOM with the constant misses at 80%...picking mostly non-combat skills was probably a bad idea

you can get a save game editor, just google it if your not happy with your skills and cant be arsed to restart. I loaded a game and all my characters portraits changed to the picture of pills  so i got the editor to fix them lol

Just had a single enemy completely decimate my party because they couldn't hit him at all, I ran out of ammo, and he just handgunned everyone to death. Even my melee char kept missing. I just quit the game, **** like that drives me nuts.

If you haven't given up yet you could try...
Early on in the game, let Angela tank (she's the character outside the citadel to the right of the map that will join your party, she's high level, skilled with blunt weapons and assault rifles) while your team levels up and you get the hang of the game. Angela can pummel mooks with her wrench when you want to save ammo. If you haven't gone with a mainly melee team, you'll spend much of your scrap on ammo. It's been stated here already but it's also a very good idea to have a medic on your team.

Haven't given up but just that situation was nonsense so I stopped playing. Will try use
    Angela
    in that way, thanks.

She's also skilled in Brute Force, Outdoorsman and Hard Ass. So you can use points on other skills in your team to compliment her skill set for the early game.

    Into
    Ag Centre
now, have to confess I'm save scumming a bit but I don't really know how to play so it's saving me from giving up.

Is Sniper Ammo insanely scarce or was I supposed to buy it somewhere or what? Down to single figure bullets between two chars now.

it's not as common as .38 or 5.56, expensive at vendors too

    Use sparingly :)

The vendor in the citadel has loads............actually do vendors restock item/ammo etc after a certain time?

Pro tip, well... several rerolls later anyway. You should give your characters one primary weapon and the secondary a melee on two or of them, this way when you run out of ammo your not dead in the water

I picked this up from Kinguin (< €15 price tag FTW) and just picked 4 characters from the pre-made list to investigate the mechanics.

I find the interface to be, in a word, awful. Very unintuitive and the lack of a "this is the HUD and this is where you find things and give orders, etc" sort of video tutorial to be a pretty glaring omission.

There are pop up hints explaining features of the game as you play. There are no shortage of tutorial vids on youtube and you can always check the inXile forums. The HUD is typical for a game of this type, I don't know what you were expecting.

You only paid €15, why not show a little initiative.

    Too many points in coordination!

Also, you can fiddle around with the hud - top right corner you can customise it a little with the tiny padlock icon - drag and drop whatever you see fit and lock it again to hold it there. tbh though i like the layout i reminds me fallout and fallout 2

  • Gonna try and get a good few hours in tomorrow night.
    Just entered the
    Prison
Section think there's a crew from
    Highpool that I can save

Just can't get into it for some reason, nothing bad to say about it but 20hrs in just dont feel like playing anymore. Fwiw put 100hrs into divinity.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,737 ✭✭✭✭degrassinoel

come back to it the next time you feel the RPG itch i reckon - might be that you sunk in a hundred hours into D:OS too, am about 80 hours in, and third restart, just barely back to where i was in the first one and there's so much more that i'd missed the first two times..

    Easter egg spoiler..
E.T the extra terrestrial games - found thousands of them buried in the desert lol

you really need to have a character with each dialog skill leveling up, such a pain in the ass to get to a point in a quest where you just fail it because your skill isnt high enough or dont have it all.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,737 ✭✭✭✭degrassinoel

did that myself on this playthrough, they each have 1 weapon specialisation, talky skill and tool skill, the odd one out is my medic and surgeon

Start by creating 4 very distinct characters with different specialties.
For instance there isn't a benefit to have 2 characters both leveling up the Hard Ass perk, because you're only going to need one person at a time to use it.

Theres a couple of tips a few pages back. I would suggest playing on the easiest difficulty also. It's really not easy at all!

    Happy Gaming :)
