Seriously would you bother shaving a big area if no-one was going to see it. Why would you? I only shave my legs if I know I'm going to be wearing a skirt on a night out, maybe once every three weeks.

Others seeing it? Well like most have said, they like the look and feel of it for themselves and/or their partner.

You doubt that? Ha little do you know! hehehe hairy women covertly everywhere.

I don't know any lad that likes the feel of a hairy leg on a woman to be honest, So its not just a visual thing.

Nope, you're wrong there. I only shave when the hair is going to be on show or if it's substantially long. And I mean everything from armpits to pubic hair. I prefer to wax the ol' nether regions anyway so I let it grow out beforehand. And it's the same for a lot of girls I know. Shaving more than half your body is an arduous task, especially at 7am when you're running late for college.

I can't believe guys would buy that every woman is pristine and fully groomed 24/7! That's actually hilarious, no wonder we feel so much pressure to not give the game away!

Most of my friends who have kids will happily admit that they look like a gorilla most of the time. And these women have partners who live with it, because maintaining a 24/7 grooming routine nigh on is impossible when you're trying to work and raise kids. And your priorities change enough that you realise that having silky smooth underarms all the time is simply not that important.

And I know dozens of women who won't shave their legs at all over the winter. Because it's too cold, and NO ONE IS GOING TO SEE THEM, so why bother?!

Note to male hair haters while we're at it:

Women do not wake up with full make up already on either.

Oh yeah, and generally they prefer NOT to wear "sexy" underwear on an everyday basis.

It's called a 'Winter coat'. They can shed terribly if not sheared when the weather picks up again.

Nope, you're wrong there. I only shave when the hair is going to be on show or if it's substantially long.

So this translates to 'most women who wear trousers have hairy legs'?

Most women only shave from the knee down as their thighs don't get hairy. This takes a whole 3/4 minutes in the shower. And underarms, a whole 20 seconds each side if even. Pubes are obviously more difficult but even on a weekend when you have time it wont take long. All this doesn't need to be done every day and making out that it's a massive chore is a bit much. But for those who do think it's a chore, there's laser which is very cheap these days.

Laser doesn't work after one procedure. It needs to be done again and again and again and again and again. Not so cheap when done repeatedly and even more time consuming.

Shaving isn't for everyone either - I haven't shaved my legs since I was a teenager, I wax them instead. It means it has to be done less often but it also means there will be times they're not silky smooth. Although, I've been told even when they're due to be waxed they still feel soft and smooth - which surprised me.

It really is more of a chore than you're reducing it to. Please believe me.

However, contrary to the ladies who don't shave/wax unless someone is going to see their legs, I still do mine even when I'm the only one who'll get to see them and I wear trousers most of the time.

    Thanks for the advice.
Seen as I'm too lazy to shave, I'll just fork out a few thousand to get it all lasered off. I just looked it up, and it seems that laser hair removal costs about €1-1500 just for legs....that's not cheap in my books.

Have "most women" told you that they shave their legs all the time? "Most women" I know wear their hairy legs under their pants and only shave when needed.

Maybe I just hang out with a bunch of hairy girls.

Next thing, we'll be being told our vaginas look disgusting cause they're just too damn brown! Eugh! http://jezebel.com/5900928/your-vagina-isnt-just-too-big-too-floppy-and-too-hairyits-also-too-brown But that's for another day

When you rule the world you can decide what women spend their time, money and priorities on.

In the meantime you will just have to live with the fact that most women walking around you are probably hairy, or stubbly, or covered in ingrown hairs, or waiting patiently for their curly toe hair to finally get long enough again for them to wax it again.

That's why you can get deals for anywhere from 6-12 sessions. I already said there's 3/4 deals a week on the likes of groupon etc. If you have dark hair, it does work.

That makes sense though, waxing pulls the hair from the root so the hair grows back softer than if you shave it.

Laser doesn't work for everyone and isn't cheap at all. What a waste of money if it doesn't work.

If you want to believe that most women go around groomed 24/7, go ahead!

I never said what they should spend their time and money on. I just gave an example to say it doesn't take long.

No, I'm not going to accept that because I just don't think it's true. I can't remember the last time I saw a women with hairy legs or underarms to be honest.

I'm still not prepared to pay that much for laser hair removal...and have light hair, which apparently it doesn't work on so well. PS. I was but a little girl in the 90's...I would hardy be looking it up then. I checked out the Harley Medical Centre, and these were their promotions.

How many women's legs do you see?? Can you see through pants

Well keep an eye on the deal websites to see the prices.

I think the thread needs a poll to see how many women do shave or how many find hairy armpits etc disgusting. That would put an end to it.

Wearing a skirt = has recently shaved legs. Wearing a long sleeved top = may have hairier armpits than a monkey, or be covering in shaving bumps. See where I am going with this? Women don't show you what they don't want you to see. That doesn't mean it isn't there though.

And laser is useless. Your wife's leg hair will come back, wait and see.

But these women with skirts probably have their legs shaved for the reason that they are wearing skirts, no? Obviously not all women have hairy trouser legs, but pretty much all my friends do (yes, it's come up in conversation).

In fact, right now, my legs resemble Pan's. Minus the hooves.

I think I'll stick with the most-of-the-time hairy legs. It doesn't bother me or my boyfriend, and I don't care what anyone else thinks, so it's all good.

I saw this woman on the Craig Doyle show. She unashamedly was sprouting furry bits from her under arm. I think this is absolutely grotesque. What sort of feminist goes to such lengths to make these points.

Anyway, would any men be will to go out with a woman with a vast amount of under arm hair? Maybe I am sexist, and even though it is natural it makes me want to puke.

Fair play to her as she is just being human. The natural woman has hair under her armpits and other places did you know. This is your lesson for the day I hope you understood it correctly as if you didn't then i'm sure the video natural woman will clarify this for you.

You are not a sexist, you just have an uneducated thinking on how a woman is naturally formed and they are all beautiful, including the hairy armpits.

You're only saying this based on what you do though. A lot of women shave every few days because they don't like hair. It doesn't matter what they're going to wear.

No it's not. It's not permanent but it requires a shave only once a month if even. She got her legs and bikini areas done.

Smash, what areas of yourself do you shave as a matter of interest? Do you get the back, crack and sack done? If not does it bother your wife? If it did would you get it done?

I'm not the one worried about this! Being a woman, I'm pretty sure I know a whole load more about women and their body hair then you do. I went to boarding school, I've seen more female body hair than an gynaecologist.

And I know about the laser because I had my armpits done about 5 years ago and they (after 10 sessions or whatever it was) are now right back where they started from. And my sister has spent over 1700 on laser at this stage and still admits she looks like an Ewok. And neither of us are particularly hirsute to begin with.

To be honest, I'm just killing time on this thread before the hometime bell goes and I can GTFO of here :D.
