    Ok disgusting is probably too strong a word. My Op is worded poorly, but I just think I was fairly gross. Especially for her to be parading it on national tv. But whatever, she is obviously free to do her own thing but I would find it gross if my girlfriend had hairy underarms.
    She seemed to be doing it just to be different because it's a social norm.

    Depends on how long the thread remains open. I normally shave but I think in protest (boredom) I'm not going to shave while this thread remains open.

    People can go on about being mind controlled and everything else by advertising/porn (Don't really think porn has anything to do with it being honest). But why not stop washing or brushing her teeth to really give societies norms a big **** you.
    Being honest I'm obviously not concerned what this woman chooses to do, I just think most men would find it a turn off and I don't know any women that would grow it out like that! And I suppose I'll get it out of the way now, yes, I asked my ma :pac::P
    Anyway, I'm off to shave my pubes again.

    Thing is though, if a trend for men shaving their armpit hair off started now, at some point in the future this thread could easily be about a man who decided to go against society's 'norms'. It really isn't normal to shave the hair from under your arms off - it's just what lots of people have been conditioned to prefer. I don't claim porn is responsible, I think the trend was around long before porn became as commonplace as it is today, I know when I was a young girl (I'm 43 now) it was something women did.

    I find men's hairy underarms just as unattractive as women's - though men don't wear sleeveless tops as often as women do. I think it has more to do with fashion than anything else.

    Removing hair isn't in the same category as washing and teeth cleaning. Hair removal is a purely aesthetic thing - washing stops you from smelling foul and, possibly, from becoming infected (if you've a cut on your skin) and teeth cleaning stops teeth from rotting and falling out meaning you can still eat.

    As an experiment, shave off your own underarm hair and see if you like it. You might find it's something you prefer on men too. ;)

    It's just hair.... HAIR! I mean... it's actually a good tactic when you think about it. Not bothering to shave keeps away people who are way too superficial.
    In all seriousness, hair is hair. It's a choice. Shaving/waxing is a super pain in the ass and I understand why some people don't want to take that on.
