I didn't see the Oakland game so won't comment.
Really disappointing, wright hopefully comes back asap, can see why people think highly of him. Hopefully he progresses during the year.

I think we all thought we didn't need Keenan, me included. But when I watched his highlights and video was excited. Great pick up by TT, and like I said before along with others I think he can be really special.

I think we beat the colts to be honest, I've been disappointed with them this year.

Btw great body slam by fluker

Also well done guys getting up to watch the game.
High chance imo that we play Oakland in Wembley next year. If so a game I hope to see you all at

Seriously doubt they'll play a divisional game at Wembley. Season ticket holders wouldn't be pleased.

Wouldn't surprise me with Oakland I mean that their fans are clearly extremely loyal, also Im sure SD wouldn't mind the trip and not having to play in Oakland.
Would also raise the profile of the Wembley series with a divisional game

Can't see it happening tbh. The home team gets paid as if it's a sell out when moving a game to London. It makes sense that the game would be the least appealing home game to fans and one that likely would not sell out. These decisions all come down to money at the end of the day so it'll almost certainly not be a divisional game and most likely an inter-conference game.

I don't think any team is even close to sacrificing a divisiional game to london any time soon.

Fair play to you rochey for your optimism but I'm not at all confident of us beating the colts, first top notch passing qb to have a go at our secondary. Poor pass rush and poor secondary for us means pagano will have to create schemes to confuse luck I think

Yeah I fear for us v the Colts but heck stranger things have happened. The way this team is we could beat the Colts and lose to Jax FFS.

What about Mike Harris gone to IR now too, jeeeez. We've sweet FA behind King now, so here's hoping he can stay upright. I thought it odd that we take O linemen from another teams PS when we have a T on our own PS who surely must be ahead of anybody from outside esp when that anybody is the likes of Remmers (another PS guy).

I also note that the RB we've brought in, while talented, is another small guy. With Mathews made of glass shouldn't we be making a run at someone bigger eg. Michael Turner even?, or Beanie Wells?

Just because I'm mister optimistic Luck is only averaging 230 yards a game. Colts lost to Miami Oakland nearly beat them.

Philip can match him. Another big game for our two young receivers

I can confirm that 'game jerseys' are printed. So, yeah, that Rivers jersey will be printed for sure.

Welcome to 'Moist Bread' (what a handle that is!!), is this your first post here?.....

Monday has arrived lads. Must say I fear for our D tonight. We make poor QBs look great, imagine how Luck will enjoy playing our stiffs in secondary. We'll score points I'm sure but I reckon it could end up being a bit of a shoot out that Philip will lose, there will be sacks, there will be INTs... Rochey, our resident glass half full man, we need you!!.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,286 ✭✭✭OAOB

I think rochey is moist bread.

This should be a shoot out tonight. I think our offense have a huge responsibility to manage the clock tonight, we need our defence on the side lines for as long as possible. I don't know if we have the running game to do this effectively but if we can dominate the clock we have a reasonable chance.

I think our best chance is a come from behind win. If the colts are driving down the field at the end of the game luck will tear us apart but I feel like we could do the same to them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,277 ✭✭✭Justin10

No I'm not moist bread, don't think I could come up with that sort of name.

As always I'm more confident, Luck has done nothing amazing this year.

I think we are as good as the colts and could easily beat them, like I said we had 5 games that could go both ways. We really need this to go our way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 391 ✭✭setanta74

Depends which chargers team shows up tonight. We all know you cant predict anything with this team. Who would have thought we would have laid an egg like we did in Oakland after the performance against the Cowboys.

Any team worth its salt will come out fighting on home turf tonight to erase the Raider game. I think they will put up a decent showing and the optimist in me says home win. Novak winning FG from 48 yards with 5 seconds on the clock.

Like I said he aint doing much. Averaging around 200 yards.

Delighted with this win, fingers crossed we can put a few back to back wins together.

In fairness to luck he was the least of the problems for his team last night, some shocking drops by his receivers.

Was hugely impressed by our Dline, needed to create pressure to give the secondary a chance and they did consistently. Also best game called by pagano, mixed it well.

It was a shame we couldn't get a few more TDs last night, some of those long drives were brilliant and deserved more. We have really good variety with our receivers and rivers is using them all.

Seeing a running game pick up 10 yards at a time is beautiful, I had forgotten how good it was

Not having a go at Luck. Just I didn't see where all this hype was coming from for the first 5 games. Really hope he gets going, he is a joy to watch when he is fully firing.

Keenan Allen at 50-1 for offensive rookie of the year is looking better and better each week

I'm hoping the colts have a chip on their shoulder after last night, hopefully tear into denver next week.

Allen is doing brilliant, absolute bargain and really trusted by Philip.

Luck is a fantastic QB no doubt about it, very much let down last night by all those drops. If even 2 of them had been hauled in the game could have been a whole lot different.

Agree with OAOB too many missed opps in redzone. Looking forward to Luck ruining the long necked one's return to Indy.

Praying Keenan Allen's knee holds up. Right now he is v much looking like a potential O rookie of the yr. Amazing to think/see that D do what it did last night.

Gachkar, Te'o, Tourek and Larry were the starting LBs, F me who'd have thunk it!!!. Kudos to Pags for a change.

4 and 3 here we come, we can't lose to Jax surely to F.

5-3 is a must and then throw the kitchen sink at Denver. 6-3 and we are in with a massive shout of the playoffs

I know that's getting way ahead of myself. But next two games are huge.

    How good would that be?

If Indy can do the Donkeys and we goto that game (at home) 5 and 3 wow. If we can beat em they'll be 7 and 2 and us 6 and 3 with the re-match coming in Denver.

Now that's getting ahead of oneself!!!!.

Someone please call a doctor for Leslie, optimism has got the better of him.

Jags will surely win a game this year, please god not against us.

We just need to be in a position to make the playoffs. 4 of our last 5 are at home. Last 3 all division games.

We could easily end up with 9 wins, even losing twice to Denver. Beating Miami, New York and Oakland at home then the chiefs once. Will give us 9. But it all depends on these next two games, that's how big these are. We can then take the shackles off against Denver. Denver won't make or break our season.

I saw on Twitter today someone mentioned that Jim Trotter (who used be UT bet writer) said before the season started not to be surprised if the Chargers won more than 8 games?

Anyone know where he wrote/said that?, I can't find it and am shocked to hear he made that claim. Jim knows his stuff but he ain't no Charger lover esp in the days of AJ.

I was really impressed with the way the offense could put together long scoring drives last night. Could have finished them better in the redzone but being able to sustain time consuming scoring drives will be massive when we go up against the likes of Denver. Still so sickened by losing to Oakland though, we really can't afford to lose to anyone other than Denver and KC at this point.

I'll be delighted if we finish 8-8. After the Jaguars, we'll have to fight hard for any wins. Out of the last 10 games, I reckon we've a good chance against the Dolphins, the Redskins, the Giants and then the Raiders. Once we keep Pryor in the pocket and pressure him we should be able to change those silly mistakes we made in the first game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,286 ✭✭✭OAOB

I think it really comes down to how we play ourselves. If we can perform to our best I still think we lose to broncos twice, chiefs once and the dolphins. That'd be 9-7 for the season and probably missing out on the playoffs.

Of course we're always likely to play a stinker of a game and lose to a team we should beat.

How did we go from the world caving in after Oakland to now having shots at the playoffs and winning seasons?

I guess thats the rollercoaster ride of being a Charger fan.

Superb win to be fair. McCoy talked after the Oakland game about "Execution" of the gameplan I presume. Well all 3 teams executed perfectly last night I thought. The players stepped up...Im looking at you Ryan Mathews and most of the Defence and we pulled this great running game and blitzing defence out of the fire. Brilliant coaching for the game at hand and kudos to the players for believing in it!

That was an incredible graphic that came up on the ESPN screen about the number of OL changes we have had in 6 games with Nick Hardwick being the only constant and what happens?....Hardwick is instrumental in us running up the gut for 8-10 yard plays all night long.

McCoy was right to call out Mathews for going out of bounds on that run at the end of the game when we needed to burn the clock down. It was a bit of a bonehead thing to do but overall Im delighted for him to have contributed so much along with Woodhead on the ground.

Im hugely positive this week but I really really cant see us going more than 8-8 and I think the Donkeys will go 13-3 or 14-2 or something like that while the Chiefs will probably end up 11-5 or 10-6

I felt pretty sorry for Mathews near the end, he doesnt get many games like that and obviously was trying to gain as many yards as he could. Stupid mistake by him i know but grear effort. My worry is he's a confidence player and only having mccoy chew him out after that game could affect him. It was great seeing hardwick go over to him during the timeout and give him a quick pep talk, good leadership by him
