Or that scrap yard in kilcock, or similar outfit closer to you.

So it could be a loose connection is that it? How would I go about checking that? Thanks for taking the time to reply too :)

Thanks for that and taking the time to reply, would it make a difference if it was a potentiometer for a 1.8 or 1.6 or are they all the same? Spoke to a guy in Killkenny earlier through partfinder.ie and he has the part for about €100 with a 7 day warranty. Sound like a good deal?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,866 ✭✭✭✭MuppetCheck

If the part works it's a lot better deal than €750 from Alfa!

If a quick fix can be done like in the other thread it may be worth calling an Alfa specialist to see if they are familiar with it.

according to this they're the same from O3 on for the 1.6 and the 1.8, http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=110889474478&index=1&nav=SEARCH&nid=04424976912, yours is older though so dunno. 100 from lad in killkenny seems ok. 7 day warranty is fair enough if you get it fitted within that time.

    What time does it start?

About 12pm but then most of the cars head off for a cruise for a couple of hours. 3 / 4pm would be the best time to get there. Make sure come say hi! ;)

No water came in at all but I will check the air filter after work. I was lucky as a cut cat..

I just opened the air filter housing and the filter was dry but there was water in the bottom of the box.... I dried it all out but the car took ages to start which was unusual. I was sweating until I got going..
