Sources/links/twitter disclaimers should be obligatory when posting a rumour in this thread. Too many rumours in here read as though they are statements of fact.

Just on Modric iirc he never said that he'd prefer London, he did say he wants stay in a hub city so he can easily get a plane back to Croatia whenever needs be, which is why he was never going to Manchester. He's not going to Chelsea either, Levy wouldn't sell him to an English club. Hopefully Sahin comes the other way but I can't see it happening, he already said himself that he wants to stay at Madrid and fight for his place there.

I don't see why Sahin would go the other way. I'd say plently of CL clubs would be in for him should he become available.

It will be interesting to see what Spurs do with that money they'll need to sign a striker a CM

Exactly what my thoughts were originally. Van Gaal's ego thrown in with the numerous player egos already there. Cluster**** situation.

The egos with an Ajax past will not cause a problem.
But i fear this appointment will cut RvP's international career short.

I ll never forgive Van Gaal the way he treated Ed de Goey when he was Hollands no 1 and Van der Sar no 2. And how he ****ed up qualification for WC2002.

The man has been a poser all his career as a player and manager. Succes he had but only there where Cruijff had been in charge of the youth set up (Ajax and Barca) and he could take advantage of that work.

I really hope he ****s up qualification for the WC again.

Yes but he's only one year into his contract and had something like 4 starts last year, Mou could just say go there or stay on the bench, he seems as likely to play as many games next year with Modric arriving. Redundant anyways debating it, he's not going to come to us because he doesn't want to.

Apparently Oscar (Brazilian with Internacional - same club Sandro came from) will be joining us in the not to distant future (we have some sort of agreement with them from what I know), and the same with Loic Rémy. Oscar being an AM and Rémy a striker it still doesn't address the void left by Modric though. Moutinho said he'd play with AVB tomorrow, or something along those lines, but with United heavily rumoured to be interested in him I don't think we have much of a chance of landing him, who knows though, he might just prefer to work for AVB again, I'm not too optimistic anyways. I'm also fairly sure that Adebayor said he wants to make permanent his move, but that would involve him taking a massive pay cut (~100,000 a week cut) so I don't see that happening either.

Who knows though, there are strong rumours that the same poeple that own PSG will be buying 25% of the club (THFC), which would apparently give AVB a warchest of £200 million to spend on transfers and wages.

Of course these are all rumours yet, could very easily turn out to be a load of pony.

Last year he stated he only wanted Chelsea and London. I believe its only cos Levy just wont sell to us, that he will take anything else

So any news on Van Persie's future these days? :pac:

I can't see him moving to City. They'd have to offload a few of their players before that happens. They still have Tevez, Aguero, Balotelli, Santa Cruz, Adebayor and Dzeko at the club.

How Santa Cruz is still there I don't know. He hasn't played for them in two years. I think he's into the last year of his contract so they'll ave to sell him now or take a £15 million hit on him.

I hope he doesn't move to United. He's not needed there. Juventus seems the only other option from what limited articles and such that I've read.

Roque Santa Cruz is supposedly close to leaving.
Adebayor will probably leave too and may end up on a permanent deal at Spurs.
Dzeko may move back to Germany on loan.

I think we may see RVP end up playing in Manchester

Ah balls. It'll be frightening if City have Tevez, Balotelli, Aguero and RVP to choose from. I hope he just goes off to Juventus.

I remember when RvP was signed, it was about the time Robben was signed to Chelsea. Wasn't big news when they signed him, had never heard of him myself but remember thinking he had a cool name :P

He's suited to Arsenal imo, the main man. I don't think he'd suit being amongst many star players.

That would mean that Spurs and PSG couldn't both be in Europe, AFAIK ou cannot own more than a 10% share in two clubs in the same european competition.

I remember there was rumors of Rupert Murdock buying 25% of a Rangers and it was rubbished because he already owned 10% of Man Utd at the time and both couldn't play in Europe if it happened.

This was stated in an article over in the SSC, if you already own one European club you can only own 25% of another.
UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations restrict the group from purchasing any more than 25 per cent of another European club due to their ownership of PSG. But the move will still be a significant boost for the north Londoners and should mean new boss Andre Villas-Boas has up to £200 million to splash on wages and transfer fees this summer.[\quote]

I didn't see it on here but it looks like Kalou is signing for Lille. RMC are reporting he's there for a medical today.

How would the Pozzo family have 3 clubs in Europe if that were the case?

I assume it means if you own one club playing in European competition you may own have a 25% stake in another? But then surely it would have said that

Still has got come under a conflict of interests rule somewhere surely!

He has rubbished those reports himself, I rememver reading it last night, Ill try dig up a link for you, (may have actually been on SSN teletext) the jist was that he is not going anywhere, he is happy and that Spurs had made an enquiry to his agent but nothing official to the club and that there is nothing unusual about that as it happens all the time when a young player does well.

Preston's manager Graham Westley continuing his love in with his players by texting, rather than calling or speaking to personally, the players he no longer wants at the club.

    article-2169972-13F582DE000005DC-362_468x174.jpg

Link to Daily Mail article about it. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2169972/Graham-Westley-texts-players-turn-Preston-training.html?ito=feeds-newsxml

This is the same manager who said his players at leaked his tactics and lineup to the opposition, and has massive grudges against most of the PNE squad so I think it is highly likely that he did send these texts.

Cryuff was at AZ and Bayern Munich was he? News to me.

Jog on buddy, LVG is a giant of football management.

Nope, Cruijff wasnt at those clubs.

Granted he won the title at both Bayern and AZ.

What he also managed to do at AZ was losing the 2007 title on the last day of the season away to mighty Excelsior in order to get on and lose the cup final and losing the CL qualification play off.
Next season finished 12th in the league and indeed in 2009 he won the league.
AZ in those days managed to outbid the traditional top 3 as it came to transfers.

Winning the league in his 1st season at Bayern and then got fired in april in his 2nd season. His assistant managed to finish 3rd so at least they had CL qualifiers.

There is nothing official yet but there were reports in Italy earlier in the week.

They are probably only reporting it because they were also reporting that Real were trying to get him.

SPanish press reporting Modric will be a Madrid player within 10 days

RvP would reportedly prefer a move to Barca.

Also the telegraph say Fabio Borini will become Rodgers first signing for Liverpool.

From my time travelling abroad, there are two very different views on Van Gaal. I find it interesting many of the Dutch people I have talked to be it when over in Holland in the past or on another forum likewise Bayern and Bundesliga fans are quite critical of him.

He's a good coach, but overhyped by some sections of fans and media alike. I don't think he'll do with this bunch of Holland players currently. If it was a younger squad, one that is willing to learn and entirely buy into his footballing philosophy, I could see him doing well.
