Didn't follow him too closely after he left Sporting,(United didnt move for him so figured that was the end of our interest in him) but never heard anything positive about him from Genoa (I think) and I do remember him being linked with Bolton a while ago

Sad to see Lavezzi leave Napoli. Had he stayed and they got a few defenders, he could have been part of something special, something to break the Northern stranglehold on Il Scudetto. Instead he chose the money and now i'll treat him as any other money merchant. Still, at least he left Italy and can't come back to bite Napoli in the ass. Had he joined Inter it would have upset me greatly.

It started going around Twitter, then Goal.com ran with it I believe.

Last official word was

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is unsure about the present position on Zeki Fryers’ contract negotiations.

Fryers has has been offered a new contract but has yet to inform United of his decision.

"We haven't heard anything from Zeki Fryers," said Ferguson.

"I don't know what's happening there but he's not been in touch with the club. His agent hasn't been in touch with the club and I can only assume he'll be back for training."

The article also states that Spurs have offered him 20k a week, how likely does this sound to you? Considering you already have a left back and the wage cap at the club? Plausible?

I just dont think the money involved in terms of wages and a rumoured 2 million fee (which makes no sense either!) seems like something Spurs will do?

I have no idea to be honest 20K a week sounds like a lot Walker was on that until May I think, BAE still has a few years left in him but we have no real cover bar Rose who really needs to play or risk spending his career on the bench.

The 2 million seems a bit mad for a player out of contract though?

His fee will be settled by a tribunal if he does go, I don't actually know where the 2 million figure has come out of!

tbh, he might be a decent option for ye, I don't think he was our future left back or anything, the only thing that would bother me about him leaving would be the way in which United seem to be losing promising youth players. He could become a decent player, he is not good enough right now to have a career at United so maybe for him leaving and getting to play some first team football would be the best thing to happen.

We are going to be so light at left back now though it will be criminal

West Brom had a loan offer for Obafemi Martins turned down. Would be a good option for West Brom.
