5.1 released today? Is that what they said?

Still trying to big up Siri, which has got to be the biggest turd apple have ever shipped in the modern era.

Disagree entirely! I use it for short simple texts , setting timers etc.

It's early days, and it will only get better!

    New Apple TV supports 1080p.

If only I could watch that on an iPad.....oh hang on!

New Apple TV confirmed. Looks like just internal upgrades to support 1080p.

Is iOS 5.1 downloadable today? With no GM release for developers?

    Yes.

And iTunes in the Cloud now supports movies.

It's a gimmick. It's a lot easier just to set the alarm/send a short text yourself. I tried Siri the other day for a while. I found it a total chore to use.

Is there anywhere to watch this live?

I'm reluctant to judge Siri properly until there's an Irish localisation of it. Which from the sounds of it, is still a bit off. I'd imagine the Paddy version is low on the list of Apple's priorities.

I think you'll soon see Siri functionality integrated into Apps and we'll start to see its potential. Things like voice commands in games and navigation will be pretty cool. Lots of text input in business/ e-commerce apps could be replaced with voice.

    No. Liveblogs only.

Again I disagree, it's a work in progress!

Do you realise you are talking to an electronic device that understands you!

I can set timers no problem and do basic searches.

It's not perfect, but it's early days and will only get better.

I'm surprised that it just seems to be called "iPad".

    Not 3 or HD!

I was expecting a slightly better iPad 2 which is what we got.

A5X Processer & Quad-Core Graphics. Only other rumor so far the haven't mentioned is whether it'll include Siri?

EDIT: I'm guessing by voice dictation that's Siri!
