Getting my replacement one tomorrow, happy days:)

Has anyone gotten the HTC One Double Dip Hard Shell case, and how do you find it?

Are there any bricks & mortar shops in Dublin that sell them?

    TIA.

Hi glynf, I got one of the HTC double dip covers on Amazon. Used it for a while but I've changed already.

Didn't particularly like the look of it, it split on the top right hand corner (wasn't dropped) and because it was a bugger to take off I couldn't use the phone in the HTC car holder I also bought online.

Now using a cheap cover I got on e-bay.

Installing Nova or any other launcher will remove blinkfeed.

Battery life has been rated as better than - equals the S3 .

having owned a Galaxy S3 and now a HTC One i can confirm the battery life on the One is much better.

Btw HTC one is now available on Emobile. I think I'll be picking mine up by the end of the week.

Has anyone got it in black, I like it but I am worried it will scratch much more noticeably.

Are you very careful? Or will you happily throw your phone in your pocket with keys / occasionally let it slip from your pocket when sitting down?

the desire s got a lot of abuse while I had it but most of the time I had a gel case on it. often had it with keys in my pocket never had a problem with or without a cover.

Apparently it doesn't hide fingerprints and scratches as well as the silver One.

Agreed - there seems to be far less crap going on in the background.

So I nearly have the TV app setup, however when do I put in for the sky box manufacturer?

Also I entered a wrong box, how do I change this?

Finally bought one online with Meteor.

The battery life better be as good as the reviews suggest because it's pretty much the only reason I'm moving from the One X.

What do people honestly think of the camera on the One then ?
I had an S2 before hand and think the camera was better but maybe its just i havent taken any photos that impress me with it.

Also, the size of the files tend to be circa 1.5mb, my old S2 would of been nearer or 3mb, that to me says lower quality ?

What do people think and is there any special configuration I am missing ?

Also the Zoe thing just takes a burst of photos and then a couple of second video at same time ?

A little help here am on my third One from three at the moment the first two One's had build issues and the proximity sensor issue which occurs outdoors more often than not. So was hoping with the third one that it would actually work as a phone.

To be honest at this stage I'm wondering is it me am I holding the phone wrong? I've only ever had this issue with an iPhone before and Apple admitted that it was a software issue at the time.

To be honest at this stage I don't know what to do. Changed from the Double Dip case (which I thought was very poor) to an Otter box commuter in the hope a case may help with the issue.

    Any help appreciated.

I have exactly the same opinion as you but unfortunately your going to get a litany of over complicated replies trying to blind you with science from the B brothers.
    Brace yourself!

Indoors the HTC wins, outdoors the Galaxy wins. Like the software features of the HTC.

Battery life is my biggest gripe.

The One is 4 mp and the S2 is 8 I think, so it should be twice the size, you are correct. That says to you lower quality, it says to me lower mega pixels. IMO the One has the best Camera I have used on any phone. Of course if you are going to print it out and blow it up larger than normal photo size, more mega pixels is very important. In low light the One wins out easily.
Zoe isn't as intuitive as you might hope. I mean sure you can take a Zoe shot and grand, but its what to do with them. I did a simple Google, found a good procedure and now think its great. I have bunches of highlight reels from my kids party and other stuff that for me who is easily pleased I guess, I think its fantastic. Although I do wish I could get them longer than the odd 35 seconds etc.
    Have a look at the following. You can see the S4 is that bit Sharper in some photos, but the One has better detail and more natural colour in others and the low light its a clear winner;

Battery Life??? This phone is by far the best battery life I have had in a long time. It beats the Sensation and One X hands down, and probably surpasses the Desire, as I am using it a lot more than I did my Desire and still getting more than a day if I need it.

Sigh, without getting technical, and there are more than enough reviews online if you want a proper full answer, of course a 4mp image stores in less space than an 8mp one. It contains half the pixels.
Where the one camera stands apart is that each of the pixels is larger so each can determine the correct colour for that area with less light. I've taken a holiday of photos on mine never using the flash once, including indoor pub/church /museum with varying light amounts.

Yes, but use an s3,s4,note 2, all have better battery life imo plus they can be replaced with a fully charged battery.

A bit simplistic and I wouldn't agree entirely about the Camera. The Battery is better than my experience with both a G Nexus and S3, but I guess it depends on usage.

Is it just me or did you actually forget to mention what the problem was cause I can't find it. Something to do with proximity sensor in your other two ones?

Proximity sensor on all three of them seems to be buggy, so it ends up muting calls or putting them on them on loud speaker.
