someone here might know, but is it true that a high percentage of employees at Google's HQ in Dublin, head back to their home countries at weekends. May of been mentioned on Mary Wilson's show.

judging by the amount of taxis hanging around and illegally parked on barrow street on a friday I wouldnt be surprised if a good few go but i wouldnt say a high percentage. theyve over 2000 employees

I'd say he will be after the Greek doctor who was on Morning Ireland. Bit of info here:

Or this "no Irish" ad in Aussie Gumtree being discussed in AH here:

Plenty of sensation potential in both of those stories.

FFS more adoptions and abandoned kids in phone boxes.
Along with this the garlic tax dodgers family are on, and some people have issues with Pennys humorous St Paddys day T-Shirts.

    I won't be listening, this is sh1te.

Very little point predicting what he is going to talk about any more.

The Liveline Agenda no longer bears any resemblence to what is in the news, or what most people are talking about.

.... or even to what Joe says it'll be about in the promo, an hour before the programme starts.....

What sickened me about this story was her excuse of drink/drugs, I'm sick of that being a defense.

It isnt taken as a defense in court. The jury would have been instructed not to take it as a defense.

She might have been sentenced to 6 years but she certainly wont serve that long.

I am happy to see a Judge handing down a tough sentence for blatant fraud.

    More of the same, please.

It's hard to believe how Claire Nolan escaped with a manslaughter charge.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,324 ✭✭✭Suzie4

I wonder if it was a banker who had stroked 1.5 million would all these good people be on here saying how terrible it was that he got 6 years.

    He should have got more.

Why do people make excuses and bogus comparisons? This fella Paul Begley was defrauding the state at a time of massive revenue shortfall. He has a nice house.

    The garlic and the apples??

The garlic man got that sentence to send out a message, I've no doubt that he will appeal and it will be reduced.

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,816 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

If he's paying it all back, so willingly - maybe he should've considered paying it all in the first place.

There has to be a deterrent to chancing your arm until you're caught.

'you would get less for Murder'

Eh, no actually. Murder is a Mandatory Life Sentence, which is a lot more than six years.
