I am just curious why these people feel the need to broadcast they are emigrating on the radio.

That's harsh! I agree with him. All our government are doing are sitting around thinking up new taxes they can bring in.

Bet he'll be back on Liveline within a year or so and, like some of the other callers in the last week, he'll be saying "oh, its so fantastic over here, what a lifestyle I lead...jealous?? Enjoy the misery and rain back in Ireland losers!"

According to the IDA there were 13,000 multinational jobs created in Ireland last year, that's excluding jobs created by indigenous companies. And hasn't someone said in the last few days that at the moment the number of jobs being created is now bigger than the number being lost ?

I know of a few people who moved to Canada for work. Things were not as rosey as was they were made to believe over there and had very hard times there. They are back in Ireland now I think.

People dont always accept that Emigration rarely solves your problems. You just move them to a different country too

The problems you run from never go away

someone here might know, but is it true that a high percentage of employees at Google's HQ in Dublin, head back to their home countries at weekends. May of been mentioned on Mary Wilson's show.

Ireland is by no means unique in the sense that other people have to pay for the mistakes of their elites also.
