I found the whole Russian back story boring, to be honest and so didn't like the fact that we got a huge chunk of it this week. It could easily have been slimmed down - sure, we could see Oliver going to the dark side but it's been so protracted.

I really liked the Chase modern-day stuff though. Breaking down Oliver like that is a neat idea. It's something they can use, if done well, beyond this season which isn't what you normally get from a season villain.

I thought both sides were pretty good - the Russian stuff and the mind game stuff (a bit of a Chain of Command vibe, for TNG fans).

Something very bad has to happen to someone close to Oliver to snap him out of it, I think.
I wonder if Dolph will show up in the present?

Drago can still put up a fight.

When Ollie was in the market, all I thought was "Tetris!"

More like Drago's stunt double, I think. :)

Meant to say, Terrific's spheres just always make me think of Phantasm when they go off flying. I always expect blades or something to come out of them.

I reckon it has a lot to do with this pictures that were leaked of her last week.

Worst hostage takers ever. Stand arm's length from hostages and watch partners get taken down.

And why do a couple people who are part of a vigilante team not war masks when breaking into a building? Curtis even had the rest of his costume on.

Yeah didn't get that either, was it not that hard to find a mask. Sure the security guard saw their faces and Felicity would have been in the public eye so he could had recognised her. Also not back until 25th.

    Returning character in the finale:
    Deathstroke (Manu Bennett)
. Very cool, I really can't wait for that! :)

I won't post the link because it contains the spoiler, but Stephen Amell tweeted about it tonight.

This is probably related to what one of the writers mentioned in an interview about
Oliver getting an unexpected ally to take down Prometheus

Ony dipping into this thread to ask a quick question as I don't want any spoilers.

Is the current season (5) worth watching? I'm currently on episode 5 & finding it incredible hard work to enjoy. I don't like the new team at all & the new bad guy is a miserable mess. I've just completed Legends & found it great, was thinking of dipping out & getting stuck into Flash (I've passed all the cross over episodes)

Yeah it is, stick with it.

I binged the Flash before Christmas. It's worth it although this season has been poor.

Thought it was a really poor episode

First one of the season I didn't like

Didn't like Wild Dog talking about how he hurt his daughter due to being drunk then thought it would be funny to say he expected something stronger than soda water to an alcoholic who went to the bother of helping him reunite with that daughter.
And has it ever been confirmed what he and Diggle are shooting people with? Bullets looked pretty real from Ollie shooting one guy's leg

I think they are non lethal tranquilizers as when they were disbanded by Oliver Diggle said they could not get to them. I think Wild dogs was meant to be funny I can see why it was not but that is how I took it as neither drink

They seemed confused about the bunker, or maybe I was just confused. All power cut off yet they were able to see ok before using the chem lights. Then there was the bit with the methane. So worried about it exploding with the arrow, yet when Curtis and Wild Dog cut through it ignited but not down with them? Not forgetting Curtis blowing up the wall with the T-Sphere which also didn't affect the methane which they were still worried about igniting when the power came back on.

And remember when we had a character known as Vigilante?

Terrible writing with the bunker scene, as if Cisco wouldn't have left an escape route...

But, enjoying the heart to heart between Ollie and Felicity. Hopefully things can go back to the way they were pre-Helix, where she was just a Super Elite Hackz0rz with the funny lines and skimpy but decent outfits...

Stephen and Emily still have great chemistry

No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change this World

Cody Rhodes just causes more confusion as to what's in the guns. If tranqs, they should still work on him. And seems they confuse his power of not feeling with invincibility

Thought last weeks episode was poor again. Since the Chase reveal it hasn't been going well in terms of story line.

It was a bit of a face palm to see them celebrating capturing Chase with such basic psychology. With all they have been through over the years how did not nobody say "Er that was a bit easy wasn't it? He must have something planned!!" but no, look at us we're great, lets go get drinks, my round!

Thought the exact same thing, it felt way too easy the way he just broke down and surrendered like that. He was planning his revenge for years and so easily gave up. Plus it didn't help that I've seen the sizzle reel released a while ago along with news on the last few episodes.

I was really enjoying this season up to about 3 episodes ago. Now it's like death by a thousand cuts.

Why were they so upset about their dad covering up what was clearly an accidental fall from a struggle when both Oliver and Thea have done much worse over the last 4 or 5 years!

Haven't seen any news for the last few episodes but can guess they save the son in time. Chase ends up escaping, dying or being locked up on the island.

It's become just like the Flash now.

Will watch both series to close out the season but it's all become a bit meh.

It's like they're gearing up for a series finale the way thy're bringing everyone back and ending the flashbacks. I know they planned on ending the flashbacks anyway this season.

    And Merlyn's hair looks strange.
