It's better that it's going this way rather than being swept under the carpet, as it appeared to be heading.

He'll either be completely exonerated now or there's sufficient evidence there for an appeal to fail. No way the LFC lawyers will let this go unless there's clear evidence.

The FA should get two nice shiny new book.....

    really big heavy ones.....

then they should tape them together and throw them at Suarez! Then when they're done, they should give 'King Kenny' a loan of them so he can throw them too....

    (if found guilty of course)

Very interesting. If he has been found guilty then a fair few people in this topic will have disgraced themselves.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,100 ✭✭✭tommyhaas

How can they charge him when it seems that they haven't even made their own minds up about the "alleged incident"?

I don't know, because I don't know the full facts. Have they officially stated what the charge is?

A charge doesn't mean guilt or punishment though. Wait and see I guess.

He's been charged. Big difference between charged and found guilty.
It's actually not that difficult to understand.
    How ironic

Lads the jt incident occured about 2 weeks after the suarez one, also the fa has said they are not investigating the jt one until the police probe is finished, that could be weeks or months away.

JT wont walk away, he'll get the same treatment.

before everyone gets going, just to say, if it's proven that he definitely racially abused Patrice, then i genuinely hope he's fined, and that the club take action as well.

    even a banning.

Sorry Slick, it was Evra who was racially abused not Nani (above):pac:

Not exactly correct. FA won't comment further is what they said IIRC.
They will be still working behind the scenes

I have to say this 'racism' nonsense really pisses me off. I detest the fact that racist abuse is talked about in the same way as racial discrimination which belittles the seriousness of actual racial discrimination. Racist abuse is no worse than all other kinds of abuse, it's still abuse. It seems players/fans can get away with spouting whatever vile they want, but make reference to their race and the whole world erupts with moral outrage.

You said it in the past as if it's already happened.
So i stand by my statement.

Also its pretty damn obvious if he gets found guilty people will have egg on their face

Yep, a lot agree and a lot disagree. What remains to be seen now is if he'll be proven guilty, where is this evidence and what will the penalty be if any.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,100 ✭✭✭tommyhaas

It is alleged. Nothing proven yet and if they cannot prove it, he cannot be banned.

It shouldn't have been said until there's concrete proof.

What are you talking about? I never said he was guilty, infact I specifically stated if

Also what shouldn't have been said until there was concrete proof? The charge?
JT wont walk away, he'll get the same treatment.

He's England Captain, history would suggest otherwise

There's a difference between calling someone a standard insulting name and using racial abuse to insult somebody. I doubt anyone here would be too happy about being refered to in the terms Irish people were refered to in the past (Apes, inbred, terrorists etc...), so why should we not be upset about racist abuse? The fact that many Irish people are incredibly racist doesn't escape me either, which is an unfortunate part of our culture.

i agree with this, the racism card is played far too much in life these days. when i worked in tech support on the phones, we got the old chest nut "your doing this cos im from XXXX and i is XXXX".

no sir, your service is not working as you didnt pay your bill and you could be born and rared in blackrock or ballymun for all i know, i cant actually see you right now.

Racial discrimination is saying that a person should not have equal rights to you - shouldn't be allowed mix with your race, sit at the front of the bus, vote, work etc....

Racial abuse is referencing a persons race when wanting to abuse them, usually in the heat of the moment. Someone might call someone a black bastard or whatever, someone else might call soomeone a red-headed pox, or a big-nose prick. It doesn't mean they actually think black, redheads or people with big noses are actually less human and not deserving of equal rights.

As I say talking about both equally belittles what actually happens during an apartheid.

    LOL at the faffing here.

As Slick said if he's found guilty of racially abusing him, he should face serious sanction.
However, what worries me about the FA's statement is that they're charging him with being abusive toward Evra.....I didn't realise the FA could take action over two players trashtalking eachother on the pitch? They certainly never have before to the best of my knowledge.

The wording of the statement is awful.

If he's found guilty, is it of abusing Evra-or or racial abuse? The FA can't leave any room for ambiguity here. They really can't. One is a massive offence, the other shouldn't even nearly be an issue.
