Well done everyone on your losses ,stick ing with it is the thing ,try to make it as natural as brushin ur teeth in the mornin ,the way we eat from now on is forever so need to remember that and even forget we are in SW... my next thing to do is to cut out the treat night and treat weigh in night as another normal night and keep treats for when ya want them rather than something i do because i've just weighed in and all hell can break loose ....If ya get my drift ! This is a life long thing for me i know to keep my weight off i will attend class forever ...once a month even to keep on track ,i never want this weight to go back on ever again ....
Those of you who are adjusting to the fruit and having bloating issues ,it should subside soon ...I had the same issues ,i suffered IBS all my life, and couldnt eat lots of foods and fruits in particular as they made me cramp and need the loo.... Since Sw i can now eat all those foods im eating 8 to 10 portions of ffruit and veg a day and have no IBS issues i.e running to the loo,and all that went with it ...sorry if its TMI just tryin to reassure you that it will get better .....Stick with it guys, getting slimmmer and fitting into smaller sized clothes is a great feeling and so worth everything you put into it ....Not to mention the health benefits ....Im so loving life at the mo ...Ive still 6 stone to lose but i know i will do it ,with the support of my leader and group ,my life is changing for the better ,such exciting slimmer times ahead ..!!!

I have my first week over a newbie so getting weighed tomorrow for first time fingers crossed. Found first 2 days hard as body was trying to adjust to me eating all the fruit/veg so was very bloated with stomach cramps now I'm fine. Had the flu and on antibiotics so didnt go out at w/end, the same as a previous poster though dreading the w/end's, holidays going to restaurants etc love my food. Feel I have a bit more control during the week.
I guess its just a matter of checking menus beforehand, not shopping when hungry, eating filling foods beforehand if you know you are going to lapse etc.

    How's everyone doing?

My second week has been quite good, after my horrible little binge on Wednesday...but moving on :)

I think my body is getting used to the extra fruit. I always ate loads of veggies anyway, so the fruit is taking a little getting used to.

I think I'm also starting to get to grips on the superfree vs free food and almost all of my meals are now optimised :)
I even managed to eat out twice this weekend and make great choices with plenty of fish and salad

A little bit of body magic and I should be all ready for tomorrow night's weigh in :-D

hope everyone else is getting on well :)

Yay down 3.5lbs for 1st week. I was sick though on Fri so wasnt out or drinking alcohol at w/end so might have helped not giving into the temptation of naughty food after the pub. Hopefully I will be ok next week can't say the same for next Tuesday as will be on hols will try and be good, but enjoy my hols at the same time :)

are you going anywhere nice for hols? let yourself have the treats, but don't forget to eat your healthy meals too, it's all about a good balance without feeling the need for a blow out

Hi all well was half a pound up this week after a great weekend as its my bday today so was out celebrating, i thought id be up more so im not too disapointed. if i can loose 2 pound every week from now to xmas ill have two stone gone and as i dont have much on from this to xmas i know i can do it , i am not going to be miserable this xmas and wishing i had of stuck to this and lost weigh, i will be one to two stone lighter for xmas and when i go shopping for my xmas clothes it will be all worth it to be a size smaller and lighter, time for talking is over and the time for doing is here.

noone can say they cant loose weight, we all can and we will all hit road blocks along the way but the best thing is to pick yoursellf up and set a goal for next week to be down, thats what i am doing, heres to everyone being more slimmer at xmas and after, good luck everyone and well done to you all who are doing so well :)

After my last WI 2 weeks ago and the gain of 3.5lb, I missed last week due to a family funeral and was sure that tonight I would have a gain as most of what I ate last week was sandwichs but to my total amaement I had a fantastic loss....7.5lb. Totally shocked. My husband has said yesterday that I looked like I had lost some weight but I was sure he was just beig kind!!!

So that gives me the total loss of 3st 13lb so really would love to get to the 4st mark next week.

Have a lovely chicken and root veg casserole planned for tomorrows dinner. Really tasty comfort food for the cooler weather.

Going to try and be good this week so I can have a few treats in Italy next week ice cream drool :) Hopefully if I stick to tons of pasta, meats, and nice healthy fruit n veg mightn't go up too much. Will take a comfy pair of shoes and do lots of walking too not going to fret too much over the holiday eating everything in moderation as they say

    Hey everyone!

Have been doing sw for a couple of weeks now. Just wondering does anyone know the syns in Chinese chicken curry? It's my birthday on Monday and I want to have a treat as I've been sticking to sw to the t since I started!

If its a treat for your birthday, have it, enjoy it :)

Then start afresh with regular syns

    Happy birthday :)

For anyone who, like me, loves lemon yogurts, Tesco have the new Muller Greek Style lemon yogurts advertised in the SW magazine, only half a syn per pot. Nom x

Thanks Emma! :-D I think you're right I'll just have what I want and start a fresh next morning. I'm lucky in a way my meetings are on a Monday eve and my bday is on Monday so I've all week to be good afterwards!

happy birthday! Hope you enjoyed it well :)

don't be too hard on yourself, part of sticking to slimming world to the t is allowing flexible syns, especially for your birthday.

Lifestyle changes allow for indulgences every now and then, the key is to not make them too regular :)

    how's everyone's weekend been?

My week has been so so, while eating healthy meals, I've been nibbling a little too much at my bf's fried rice or pop corn. really hoping to Maintain this week, but already back on track today!

from my beginners experience, does anyone else feel like they need to remind themselves constantly, or remind about the "fresh start" after every slip up? :(
feeling a bit useless from this last week

Yeah - I think a bit of complacency and diet fatigue is creeping in. Hearing about people who have had cake, pizza, beer and still lost makes me think what harm can a ham toastie do or a biscuit - I'm exercising every day & then I beat myself up cos I get a sts or even a gain.
Time to draw a line under it and start again - thinking of going wheat free, just cupboards are stuffed full of wheat based pastas or corn based pasta, & "free foods" right now but I think I need a switch to wholefood/unprocessed and give the metabolism a jolt. And stop clearing the kids plates for them once and for all - I need to realise I can put food in the bin!!!

I stick to it great for the week but tend to go off track weekends, not hugely, I just have the odd bit of extra bread and have a bit of chocolate. I had to stop weighing myself, I was at it every second day and with the normal fluctuations, I hadn't a clue what bloody weight I was so sticking to every Monday morning now.

I have a history of slipping up and then just falling off the wagon altogether but I find with the SW, I allow myself to slip a little bit the weekend and enjoy it but I don't have enough to ruin the programme and that does me then until next weekend. It is hard though, I'm finding lunchtimes in work difficult to vary, it's so handy to bring in a sandwich but I'm trying to stay off bread and just have my Bran Flakes in the morning as my Healthy B. I'm getting a microwave in work thank God so I plan on making some of the soups from the SW website for the winter months when I won't want cold salads!!

Thought id post here and join in since im on my 4th week of sw this week. first week i lost 6.5pounds, 4.5 the second week and 2.5 last monday. was delighted on my second week to have my half stone award and also won slimmer of the week!! :D i was over the moon, such a great little boost straight away!

i posted here the other day about the syns in chinese food as it was my bday and i wanted a treat. i ended up having loads of food but i dont feel guilty about it. i may just do a wee bit of exercise this week. hoping that will help.
I had to stop weighing myself, I was at it every second day and with the normal fluctuations, I hadn't a clue what bloody weight I was so sticking to every Monday morning now.

I have to admit i was doing the same myself, nearly everyday, maybe twice if the first go wasnt to my liking! haha!! :o ive stopped though, because like you said Comfy your body is going up and down over the day you just cant keep track of it. the wii fit is another little pain, the scales on it isnt one bit accurate. :(

I'd love to be able to go to meetings, It sucks they don't have a slimming world in Cork, have no idea why its clearly very popular.
