    wonderful!!

and it looks from reading through both MT and ME that we're gonna have to wait for a northwesterly on monday before this murky crap gets blown away.

Joke isn't it? Like you say we are now hoping for a front to improve the weather! Pathetic.

Today is even worse than the last 2 days and with this shortwave set to stall over us for the weekend i'd say it's the worst spell of weather we've had all year :pac:

Looks like Dublin is in a little hole in the cloud, does appear to be burning off on the latest sat24 images

Yes indeed, the air gets dried out as it passes over the Wicklow/Dublin Mountains. 100% clear blue skies here. 18.7c atm.

25.6c confirmed by Met E for the Phoenix Park yesterday, making it the warmest day of the year.

From -15.7c on Xmas Day to 25.6c yesterday in the Phoeno - thats a temperature range of 41.3 degrees.
Thats the sort of temperature range you would associate with a continental climate and not our temperate oceanic climate. :)

Had the same thought yesterday about Altnaharra in Scotland. 26c there yesterday. Last winter it was regularly -20c there.

Today's 23.4c at Malin Head was the highest temperature recorded at the station since the 28th April, when it then reached 23.1c, which in turn was the highest temperature recorded since the 30th June 2009!

DE, the max temp at Malin Head in April was 20.8C on 22nd

The max on 28th April was 15.7C!

The ogimet figure is erroneous :)

A week that promised so much has been very disappointing for people in the south of the country.
Only got glimpses of sunshine which didn't last long before cloud and mist resumed it's ever present state.
Today was warmer than yesterday with an 18.2C, yesterday just 17C.

Cloudy all day, ridiculously mild last night. Hate this kind of weather.
