Or the Perfect Crime Movie would finally see the day. I'd love to know how much of the movie was assembled and edited. Would've been an interesting angle on a Rock N' Roll behemoth in all its pomp.

I see they played a 7 song set. I wonder how many oxygen breaks Axl needed during that!

Did you watch the above clip? By far the worst ever onstage performance by Axl Rose. Which is saying something considering the disaster at the MTV VMA's in 2002 and Rock In Rio last year.

It looked like he was having a heart attack when he starting singing You're Crazy by mistake in the middle of the first verse.

The guy is a total washed up has been.

Sad. Very sad. I see he is off to Vegas soon for a 12 show residency.

Full on Fat Elvis at this stage.

No, Fat Elvis had some level of self respect. Axcel is just a fookin muppet

Actually I'll take that back. It wasn't fat Elvis, it was Mickey Mouse.

Try NOT to think of Mickey Mouse watching this.

Might be naive here but Is this video dubbed? The sounds don't match when the mic is away from his mouth?

Yep. It was my first concert. Faith No More & My Little Funhouse (a band from Kilkenny).

I distinctly remember a huge gap between FNM and GNR but still it was one of the best days of my youth

Yes there was quite a gap there alright, some hot day as well.

The interview with Jimmy Kimmel was just the first part. Here's the whole thing.

He came across quite well (as best you can when someone keeps cutting across you) but it would have been nice to hear him asked stuff about Slash and the others. I'm sure it was probably part of the deal that he wouldn't get asked anything like that though. Or how about Kimmel bringing Slash out as a surprise guest halfway through the interview....imagine the face on Axl :pac:

He didn't look as fat as his appearances on stage although the hair must be going or gone on top as he doesn't seem to appear without the hat these days. The more I think about it the less I want to see any kind of classic reunion because I don't want an Axl as Fat Elvis to be the last abiding memory of that era. Just leave it as it is and if he wants to keep it going as something else then fine but it's not GNR to me anyway.

He seems to be at ease with the world and good luck to him but there will always be that feeling that it could have all turned out so much better had he not been such a contrary oul fecker.

His singing style from the early days always seemed like it might take its toll on the vocal chords eventually.

Very typical of a US chatshow...I'd like to see Axl get interviewd by Piers Morgan or Jonathan Ross..one of those guys would do a better job than Kimmell.

Is he wearing make up or is it a bad plastic surgery job or both?

the hair must be going or gone on top as he doesn't seem to appear without the hat these days.

He used to always wear a bandana. He was in his 20's then. I reckon the hats are just his bandana's today.

Even if he is losing the hair, he is pushing 50. Most people tend to start losing hair around that age.

That was rather painful! I'm a life long GN'R fan I must say - they were top class back in the (early days). It all began to get a little circus-like towards the end and this was one of the reasons for their break up.
I was rather upset I must admit when courts ruled in favour of Axl having the rights to the Guns N' Roses name - as I knew it would result in this fiasco!!! How many guitars are onstage?!!! Bumble-bee-toe, some other randomers, etc etc - butchering a quality song.
I can understand Axl milking it - it's his tune but getting these donkies on board is just a sham. Dizzy Reed still hangin' around like a bad biff - yes, he did add some quality piano playing during the "Illusion" days but at that stage, it was getting a bit silly (horn section, backing singers etc!). Anyway, it's a shame for Axl that it has turned out so. I can imagine Slash, Duff and co watching this - leave it alone men, you're sh*te! You can read the song book, well done but seriously!
Anyway, that's my rant over! Hee hee. GN'R of old are simply quality - this current regime is non-sense.
    Crash Diet!

Its not that much of a shame. He showed little respect to either other band members, or audiences from the time they made it big.

G`n R were gone in the early 90`s. It was axl and co after that.

Exclusive: Axl Rose on GNR, truce and writer's block
    Edna Gundersen, USA TODAY
The Guns N' Roses singer says new music will come sooner than the band's long-awaited 'Chinese Democracy' did.

9:18PM EDT October 30. 2012 - Few front men in rock 'n' roll have been as controversial, sensationalized or polarizing as Axl Rose, who suffered sexual and physical abuse in childhood, led Guns N' Roses to global fame starting with 1987's Appetite for Destruction and engineered its collapse a few years later. He spent years in seclusion hiring and firing new players while tinkering endlessly on 2008's Chinese Democracy. His current GNR lineup takes the stage Wednesday night in the first of a dozen shows at The Joint in Las Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. In a rare interview, the press-leery Rose shares his thoughts on Guns now and then, old wounds and the music industry.

New music: "All the guys are writing, and we recorded a lot of songs over the years. We'll figure out what we feel best about. Chinese was done in piecemeal with one person here and one there at different times. Appetite for Destruction was the only thing written with lyrics and melody fitting the guitar parts at the same time. After that, I got a barrage of guitar songs that I was supposed to put words to, and I don't know if that was the best thing for Guns. I do want to lean more toward lyrics and melody."

The long wait for Chinese Democracy: "I had to deal with so many other things that don't have to do with music but have to do with the industry. There's such a loss of time. It was more about survival. There wasn't anyone to work with or trust. Someone would come in to help produce and the reality was they just wanted to mix it and get it out the door. They had a different agenda. (The next album) will come out sooner."

INTERVIEW: Axl Rose on time, on task for Vegas residency

Songwriting slump: Supermodel girlfriend Stephanie Seymour and original Guns guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan "did more damage to my ability as a writer. To those three, it was all crap. It beat me down so much. At the time of the (Use Your Illusion) tours, Slash and Duff said, 'You're an idiot, you're a loser.' I didn't write for years. I felt I was hindered for a very long time. I was also trying to figure out what I wanted to say, when it's right to be venting and when you're digging a bigger hole. Lyrics on Chinese took a long time."

Good times with GNR: "Here's what I miss about old Guns the most. And this is really before we got Appetite out. In the very beginning, you had three people (Rose, Slash and guitarist Izzy Stradlin) on the same page for a short period looking out for the best interest of that band and its goals. We were trying to get signed from the beginning. We were figuring out the right attorney, the right label. I had two other guys I could rely on. I don't necessarily have that now because it is more my thing, but I do ask everyone's opinion about everything."

How the original band might have lasted: "Maybe if we could have worked together in the way Appetite was put together. I was really naïve. I thought the success of that record would bring everyone together more. It did the exact opposite. They got success and wanted to run in their own directions. I thought they'd go, 'Whoa, it did work.' But they wanted to do their own huge bigger success off of Guns."

The odds of a Guns truce: "I feel that ball's not in my court. I'm surviving this war, not the one who created this war."

The music industry now: "It's horrible. It has nothing to do with music. I'm not trying to be bitter or cynical, but it's an ugly business. People want you to care about them or their lives, their kids, but in the end, you're just a commodity. I don't feel that way about this Guns lineup. I'm not trying to use them. I have to treat it like a business, but I don't want to make decisions that are detrimental to anyone's welfare."

Skipping the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction: "It wasn't painful to not be there. It was a beating to deal with all the pressure of feeling I was supposed to be there and deciding what to do. I try to be respectful about getting an honor or recognition, but I don't really know what the Rock Hall actually is. In my experience with the people who run it, I don't see it having to do with anything other than them making money."

Seclusion and ducking the media: "I just didn't go places where media was. I wasn't interested at the time. If the place to go was some restaurant in Hollywood, I went to the Valley. There was so much negativity, I didn't see any way to go public. I felt I was going to be slammed. The rock entertainment world just wanted to sell magazines."

Psychological issues: "I worked out a lot of them. It was strange to get successful and lose almost your entire family. Then you end up with daytime TV talk shows. All of a sudden, things considered horrific when I was growing up were so what? You were abused? Who cares? There should be more of a public acknowledgement of reality. When I talked to Rolling Stone about it, I thought people would take a harder look at my stepdad. Instead, they came down harder on me. That's still confusing to me. But surviving at any level is good. I'm a lot better than a lot of people predicted. They were rooting for the opposite. There were things on the Internet about how I'd be found dead. I had a very dark attitude."

Free time: "I go to movies, go out with friends, go to car shows. I have a zoo. My animals (wolves, parrots, dogs, cats) are my buddies. They need lots of love and attention."

Fans who discount GNR as less legitimate than the original: "They can think whatever they want. I'm not interested in their opinions."

    Interesting interview.

He came across quite well (as best you can when someone keeps cutting across you) but it would have been nice to hear him asked stuff about Slash and the others.

It would be nice if he'd asked him anything beyond some trivial questions about him working at Tower Records (which they kept referring too as Tower Video?). I think it was just a very puff piece which didn't really rock any kind of boat. Even when Jimmy asked him "why are you here?" he just sort of laughed it off.

I think he is in a good place but, one thing I'm very worried about, is the fact that Axl never seems to know anything about his touring schedule or regime or even (in some cases) the band he tours with. It seems as if he is kept in a really tight bubble and rarely let out.

I'd love to have been a fly on the wall backstage at the Kimmel show and seen the circumstances of his arrival and backstage banter etc

Think he does that himself......? He doesn't want to mix with anyone - including his band. It goes back to the old days(UYI).

Interview with Beta Lebeis, March 2001

Who is this woman? Before January 14, 2001, she was just a 45 years old Brazilian woman from Sao Paulo, living in California, divorced and mother of 3 children. After that day, she also was known as "Axl's mom". When she was called on stage to be Axl's interpreter in Rock In Rio III and received ovation from the crowd, she became a great celebrity. Her picture appeared on every cover of Brazilian newspapers and magazines. At the bar of Hotel Intercontinental, she gave me this interview where she talks about her personal life, her children and also reveals that Axl is a very romantic person. He was so passionate when he was dating Stephanis Seymour that "he showed up at her house, riding a horse and carrying flowers". This is Axl, according to Beta.

    Mom?
I always cook and bring meals to the studio. I make cakes, pies and I bind for them before show to wish them good luck. I always light candles for them. It's like, I am "a mother for GN'R".

Is it now when he's discovering what is maternal love, right?
He doesnt have anything against his mother, the only thing he can't understands it is why he didn't receive maternal protection. He sees this protection in my relationship with my children. Now, he understands a mother has to be protective, and he never felt protected.

I think you are a leader for him, you organize everything?
(laughs) That's the exact word to define me, because everybody ask me, "What do you do?!?". I am his personal assistant, I organize his house, I coordinate his personal life.

Do you give advice to Axl?
I give him advice when he asks me for it. I know he values my opinion a lot. He never got me wrong. I have to see people from every angle. You have to look a person from 360º and you will always find something good in that person. If he makes any contracts or commitments with the band, that's his own personal decision. He only asks me what I think about what he does. He always wants to know if he must or must not do something. He wants to know if he's being fair. He's very worried about being fair, he doesn't like doing something that is not true or correct. He's always trying to do things right, because he's worried about what people could say about him. That's why I think I influence him a lot, and it worries me at the same time, because I am scared of all that much responsability.

Do you believe in past lives?
Yes, Axl and I believe. As a Brazilian, I believe in this. I think it is impossible for two people who never met before, to get along this well. When I opened the door and he was there, I felt as if I knew him from ages ago.

Is Axl out of the world of drugs?
Totally. I've known him for 10 years and I've been working with him for 7 years and a half, and he was never drugged. He even quit smoking.

    And drinking?
He drinks once in a while...

You already met people addicted to heroin, is it hard to stop?
I never saw that. Axl doesnt allow that kind of stuff in his house or group of friends. Not even smoking is allowed in the studio, and never close to him. If you want to smoke, then you go outside. Therefore, I never was with drug addicts.

Were drugs one of the reasons for his fight with Slash?
There was no fighting. The problem is that Slash said he already knew all of the GNR recordings. Slash's last recordings were horrible, and Axl wanted something better for the new songs. You cant make the same music you used to make when you were 15 years old.

Is there a lot of electronic equipment in Axl's new music?
Nowadays, music is more electronic, but not completely. Slash wanted to stay in the past and then he had some trouble with drugs. Axl could never count on Slash because he would never show up for rehearsals, or he never was really "ok".

Does Axl have a daily routine?
We have a doctor who tells us what we must eat. Axl works out all day long. He runs almost 8 KM every two days. His workout plan is of 4 hours a day. He doesnt go out that much, we go a lot to the movies though, because he loves attending to films. He doesn't like bars or clubs.

    Does Axl like eating?
He eats a lot of healthy food. Lots of fruits and salads and drinks a lot of water. He loves brazilian food.

    Are you a protective mother?
Too much! I'd have to be of "this" size!

What do you always carry in our purse?
Cellphone and pager. I dont go out if he (Axl) can't contact me 24/7.

Do you spend time with friends?
Axl's friends are my family. The guys in the band call me "big mom".

For those of you wondering why Axl is a nut, this woman and her two children are now the managers of GNR. Beta is ten years older than Axl and yet he calls her Mom. The family refer to themselves as Team Brazil and her son Fernando calls GNR "My band".

You couldn't make this **** up.
