Didn't he have Irish charicatured as a worker race as he also viewed the Poles.
Apparently he saw the British (and the Japanese for that matter) as a ruling type of race.

    He was a bit of a stereotyper:rolleyes:

I remember reading an autobiography years ago written by a guy who went to work in England during the war. The English tried to draft him into the army and he refused. He was brought in front of some army bigwig and was asked the question "what would the Irish if Germany invaded and won the war?" his answer is one of the best one liners i ever read
"we'd build houses for the Germans then"

Didn't Hitler have a plan to turn Ireland into a holiday resort for Germans? The Irish would probably have become some sort of servant people that Nazis kept around for a laugh.

Apparently Hitler had no time for the Irish. I don't think he hated the Irish the way he hated Poles or Russians, he just didn't view us as being all cool and Aryan. He had a preference for blonde haired, blue eyed teens so we wouldn't have really gotten his juices flowing.

I think he would have made slaves out of the population of Ireland and everyone would have died from overwork and malnourishment.

There would also be less Poles here. Or in Poland for that matter.

Berlin would now be called Germania and it would have massive structures the very same as famous landmarks from other countries, but on a much larger scale. One of Hitlers faults was that he was a big copycat with a silly moustache.

Irish people would have been dealt with to provide an Aryan island holiday getaway.

People talk about a United Ireland. Sure it would be a United Ireland - under the Third Reich. About as much of a United Ireland to Republicans as a United Ireland within the UK. UK & Ireland as one province would have been handier to the Nazis.

Reality is of course that the Nazi Third Reich would have gone the same way as the Soviet Union eventually after much blood spilt.

Your missing my point. Hitlers Goal was to take over Eastern Europe for Lebensraum, He had no interest in anything else. It was only when the West declared war that he came this way.

My mistake, sorry. Point still stands though, he didn't give a crap about Britain & Western Europe until they declared war.

Ireland would also have no trouble with Israelis forging passports, mainly down to there being no Israel.

The issue of Jews and all their power and control in international finance may have been partially solved

This may be of interest to a few people too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Green_(Ireland)

It details the possibility of German invasion. Though Hitler was pretty ademant that they should only come here if invited to help ward of a British invasion.
a landing in Ireland can be attempted only if Ireland requests help. For the present our envoy [assumed to be Dr. Eduard Hempel of the German Legation] must ascertain whether De Valera desires support and whether he wishes to have his military equipment supplemented by captured British war material (guns and ammunition), which could be sent to him in independent ships. Ireland is important to the Commander in Chief, Air, [Göring] as his base for attacks on the north-west ports of Britain, although weather conditions must be investigated. The occupation of Ireland might lead to the end of the war.

Another interesting thread might be, "What if Britain Invaded Ireland in WWII?"

    Not necessarily.

Had the state of Israel been established prior to WW2 and the bulk of Europe's jewish population opted to move there en-masse Im pretty sure the Nazi's would have regarded it as fine and dandy. They even had their own vision of a Jewish homeland for a while albeit in Madagascar rather than Palestine. It was only when it became evident that this wasnt going to happen that they had the Wannsee Conference and the final solution kicked into full gear.

Besides nobody would be forging Irish passports since such documents (if they still existed at all) would be worth $hit all. Reich passports FTW

Probably been asked before, seems to be a bit of a taboo question as well, but still intriguing. I think the Reich would have gone the way of the Soviet Union, keeping such a massive empire would have been almost impossible over decades or maybe Hitler's successors may have been less extreme, there were a lot of Generals etc who were far more pragmatic than the leadership that led the Germans into the folly of the Holocaust and invading Russia.

What would Ireland and the UK be like in your opinion? There would have been collaboration for instance, people like Lord Rothermere ( The Daily Mail ) were actively feathering their nests for the eventual take over as well as other members of the British aristocracy.

Jews and travellers would have had a hard time under the regime for sure, would there be a sort of Vichy style United Ireland as well?, as in one nation albeit ruled against the wishes of both communities on the Island.

Some Republicans had Nazi sympathies purely based on anti-Britishness however I think a German takeover would have split the movement even if they created a UI.

Bord Gais prices would be even higher!

Not widely known, but Hitler was the first world politician to support the idea of a Jewish state, crazy as that seems.
