Enda Kenny would be exactly the same if he had the guts to appear on the VB Show.

Because the X Case has never been dealt with?

Martin makes a valid point about the suicide issue. Anyways, I'm sitting on the fence on this one until the report is published so I ain't gonna have a heated debate over it.

Absolutely.. but he hasn't. So we can only deal with what's in front of us

The only reason Fianna Fáil are doing so well in the opinion polls is because of the fact that people have become so disillusioned with the performance of Labour and Fine Gael, and the lies they spun to get elected. Kenny and Gilmore only have themselves to blame for the rise in popularity of Fianna Fáil.

This interview is a good reminder of why I'll never vote for FF even though the current government is spineless and craven towards Europe and has ministers like O'Reilly feathering their own nests at the expense of other constituencies.

It does seem unbelievable that they have invited Galway Consultants to take part in the review, surely there are plenty of other consultants in the country.

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

Gilmore giving his wife a makey-up job just goes to show that there's absolutely no difference between Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Labour. In fact, Fine Gael and Labour would probably be just as corrupt as Fianna Fáil if they'd been in power for as long as Fianna Fáil were.

    I couldn't agree more MrsD.......

Major conflict of interest - has to be - they are colleagues and all know each other.............common sense has to prevail...........

But we've seen it all before. And in the past, FF was never out of power for more than 4 years, regardless of the scandals. Ok, its going to take a bit longer this time, but voters have short memories

So you don't have an opinion?

Wait until the Report is published seems to be the best idea.

    Anything else is conjecture imo.

Not having a go at the pro-choicers. Only having a go at Vinnie for taking issue with something that Michael Martin said that may or may not be true.

I'm sorry, but this is completely ridiculous. We don't need a report to have an opinion on abortion.

Are you seriously suggesting that you're going to read the whole report and only then form a view on this topic which has been around for centuries? Laughable.

Almost empty Dail in that clip, disgraceful lack of interest from parties in debating the issue.

I thought the same myself. A lot of cowardly politicians would prefer to say ' sure I was not there that day ' anything other than offend either side
    Sad

Sinn Fein all over the place on this.

I'm surprised with their conservative stance on this issue. They're looking like Fine Gael.

Very few in most parties willing to risk votes by declaring either way (except some Labour and Socialist Party who are pro choice).

    It is so emotive
Logically there are cases where terminations are a logical and sensible choice
But some people cannot countenance termination in any form because it is hard to see this issue in any shade of grey. It is a black and white matter but sensibly we ha be to be able to view each case in its own merit's
In order to protect women and doctors I hope this issue is resolved practically and properly with minimum of political posturing

But surely the woman is the best person to make this decision..not anyone else.

But the law has to be there to allow for / back up that choice

The days of religious people projecting their morals on other people in this country are over, if you don't want abortion even if it leads to your death that's your choice but no.more imposing those views on everyone else

Of course. I think we're a long way off a pro-choice Ireland. Women will still have to go to London no matter what happens in the next few weeks if they choose to have an abortion.

Mary Lou seems to forget that Hamas are the equivalent of the IRA bastards that caused havoc on this island for 30 years. Birds of a feather and all that.
