There's these two little sh*ts that go to school with my baby brother, and they started calling him names like "spastic" and "handicapped" etc this morning, making him really upset. FFS I hate this!!:mad: A lot of you know from my posts here that he has autism. I hate bullies.:(

A girl I know who was suppose to be in the same moderatorship class as me just got offered another place. I'm very happy for her, but I don't know anyone else in the class now. It's going to be like first year all over again, except worse because these people already know each other and probably aren't looking to make new friends. If my breaks don't coincide with my friends from other classes I'm going to be on my own a lot

I know this thread is about moaning,but I have to get this off my chest.
Nobody is ever not looking to make friends,if in the slight chance the aren't interested in you,ignore them.
If your breaks don't coincide with your friends you have an opportunity to make new ones,talk to people and get to know them it's not really that hard,if I can to that (albeit under different circumstances) surely you can to.
Jump off the deep end,Take the plunge and aim high,but just don't wait for others to do so.

Eh I disagree, I find that most people, once they have their own group of friends just aren't bothered making the effort to get to know new people. It's not that I think they'll be rude and ignore me, just that they're not in the mind frame to make new friends and honestly neither am I; I'm not very social and getting to know new people is exhausting and not what I want to be focusing on.

Alcohol better not make it harder for me to establish good friendships in college. Actually, scratch that, I already know that it will. Why does everyone in this country have to get hammered so often??

Disclaimer: I'm not hating on alcohol, it's grand, but when it's the one source of entertainment every single night of the week, it tends to annoy me just a little bit.

There's always a few people friendly enough to start off conversation with you though and things can go from there.

I'm very unsure about freshers just because of this. I like drinking, and being drunk is fun, but I think there are generally way more interesting ways to spend your time and I genuinely don't understand the appeal of getting up to the same falling-down-drunk antics every single time. It's fun every so often, I get that, I do enjoy it, but I just don't want a social life that revolves around it. I want to do fun and interesting things with fun and interesting people and not have everything be about drink.

I don't get it either! I actually think drinking is alright like seeing as it seems to encourage some people to socialise more, but aiming to get hammered every night is just, I don't know, weird! And I just think it's a waste of time, there are other ways of socialising, as you said!

It baffles me how much emphasis people put on nights out drinking when it comes to college. Sure there's more to life than naggins! :P

I just realised it's probably going to be midterm before I have another day off. I've all 9am starts in college and am going to be working on all my days off. I'd forgotten how horrible it's going to be. I wish I could afford to not work so much during college, so jealous of all my friends who don't have to work and save so hard just to scrape by.

I'm a bit scared of this as well. I do drink, but I'm not overly bothered by it, like two or three drinks is enough for me in one night and even then I don't always feel like that many. Like you, I don't really have anything against alcohol, I just wish all nights out didn't revolve around it.

Work never fails to piss me off. One of them has decided to use my last day at work in a few weeks time to put on a sale and advertise it as my last day to all the customers (who I get on really well with) who they reckon will then come in and buy stuff off me. Stop seeing everything as an opportunity to make some fricking profit*!!! :mad:

*Rar, I know businesses have to make a profit but they really are just exploiting my relationship with the customers who will feel obliged to buy something. Grrr.
