[quote=homewardbound11 The suggestion to play Barry at midfield and put parsons in front of back 4 is not a bad idea. I'd like gibbons available too on the panel.[/quote]

It is a good idea his tackling was very good against Donegal, he'd do well to hang around there watching Kilkenny and Connelly. Very similar to the roll Flynn plays for us.

I thought Gibbons was a find last year too, however he did fade when the opposition got a bit tougher. Wasn't he largely ineffective against Kerry in the first game last year, subbed then I don't think he was played since.

It would be a big call bringing him in now if he has seen so little aciton up to this. I would have had him on the panel and built up again before now of he interested me. I still think there is a reason he's not featuring outside of football. But tbh Parsons has been a huge reinforcement and you guys have a lot of options there now, even with the suspension. You've two championship ready players around the middle of the field that you didn't have last year.

I watched the game back the last night coc had a poor poor game he was not at the races at all. His free taking has gone to the dogs compare to last yr, I no he scored a sh1te load against Sligo but this was a sh1te Sligo team.
At the match I thought he did well put when you watch it back on TV he gets shown up a lot.
Hope it just a blip and that he's back to his best for the dubs.
On a different note his brother is tuning out to be a great footballer the future is bright with this lad, also SOS kick passing to aos is top class.

A top class player really. Essential to mayo. Never sets the world on fire against minnows but can put in a serious shift against any midfield . Its often been AOS that falls away while SOS stays with it

One of the Mayo lads I was at the game with thought that was a positive. To beat Donegal and for COC to get his poor game out of the way.

When you look at the chances that Mayo had for goals in the first half against Donegal not taking them masked the good work of AOS and made it seem like he was contained more than he was. In the form COC was in 2013 he would have scored a goal in the first half imho.

Gibbons was definitely injured a couple of months ago. I'm not too sure what the story is with him now. He was impressive last year in the league.

That's being seriously optimistic! It is never a positive to have a poor match.

It's a bit of a positive when you're most naturally talented forward has a poor game and you still win comfortably though. For the most part, I agree, you want to see everyone firing on all cylinders.

Yes we've had this discussion about Jason Gibbons,he certainly would be a great addition to the panel.Injury or not I am bit perplexed as to why he has'nt featured to any significant degree since the semi final replay.

On a lighter note Jason Doherty and Seamus O Shea were looking very dapper on Ireland AM according to the boys on Newstalk modelling suits last Friday!

I agree with him alright. He had a poor game but his capabilities are established. The top guys always say you need about 10 or 12 lads playing to their potential in every game to win an all Ireland, the 3,4 or 5 not having a great game can alternate

It demonstrates capacity in your performance IMO.

Personally I could not give a tuppenny damn about what happens in hurling and even less on Galway hurling.

As long as Mayo ein the football I don't care if the hurling cup is going to Mars.

LOL I know BUT if Galway can finally get over the cats in a final I do think it would give mayo folk and players a tiny but extra belief..........of course this could all be irrelevant after the Dublin game but in a BELIEVER

You are getting way ahead of yourself there Kenneth.

But this down time between games can get one thinking that way.

Excellent seats for Cairde Mhaigh Eo members, section 307 in the Cusack.

Section 406 cusack lower. Curious to know where they are allocated as can't find them in the seating plan. I think they could be near the bar though

That's the special assistance section isn't it? Seems to be a few complaints going around of season ticket holders getting put in those seats. 406 is very central though so they're actually pretty decent seats if you ask me.

Yes it's essentially the very last few rows of 306.

    They are great seats.
    Great view of the field.
Only complaint may be that the roof above obscures the view of the top of the posts a bit, so its hard to see if a really high kick is a score, but that's a small complaint.

There are TV screens hanging form the roof too which are great for replays.

Also there is a whole concourse behind you that people don't really know about, so no mad queues for food or facilities.

Feel sorry for the ST ticket holders with Row As and 303 etc etc. Same goes for the Dubs who are mentioning it in their forum. Got tickets for 729 which are very good but ridiculous when I could get them easily on the open market when clubs and some ST holders in both counties get shafted into the corners. No reason ST tickets could not be sent to 705-707 when Upper Tiers are open or indeed Upper Hogan if demand us high.
On the Donegal ST I have been generally very lucky in Croke Park apart from Galway where I got 306 Row D which so happened to be the front row that day as A-C closed. Have normally been further back than AA if memory serves me correctly. It's like the guranteed loyalty of ST holders are just taken for granted nowadays.

Yeah it's poor form but with Dublin and Mayo there are just too many season ticket holders. But forcing the rubbish seats on us is unfair.
