With Croatia joining in 2013, soon to be followed by Serbia, Bosnia and Macedonia things are only going to get worse.

If Turkey is allowed join it'll be the Cherry on the F*cked up sundae that is the EU.

So much bitching and moaning and all it shows is a complete lack of understanding of how the EU free movement rules work. I posted this back on the second page and it seems only 3 people have read it and understood it.

It's called having an opinion and freedom of expression. Whether you like it or not tough.

You forgot to mention that it only applies on an individual case by case basis though, which makes it about as workable as our messed up asylum system, queue thousands of orders to quit the state followed by thousands of appeals that take years to process and hundreds of lawyers enriched by the whole thing....

The opinions, for the most part, are based on crap information. Read my link.

Why don't they favour us?? These rules allow you to take your pick from 27 countries and decide which one you like the best and move there, no questions asked. If you can't find a job, move on to another one. Without it, you'd be stuck in Ireland jobless anyway because we'd sure as hell be in a much worse situation economically.

''whinging''? who do u think u are? peoples circumstances are directly affected by polish migrants in ireland today. they should go the fcuk home if they cant get a job within 3 months. and you should go with them since your so fond of their presence

Perhaps you should have asked her to explain it to you further then.

As I pointed out, this rule only applies on an individual case by case basis, so you can't for example send a letter to any non national on the dole for three months ordering them to quit the country, their availability for work and their ability to find suitable work must be individually assessed and no doubt any decision subject to appeal. In other words it's about as workable as our asylum system.

I really feel sorry for you. What coused your frustration, your own failures? It's scary like some people have to find somebody to hate just to feel better...

Which is exactly what EU free movement law states... You're having trouble with this I see...

Fair enough, but can you point out to me where it states this, as I didn't see it when reviewing the outline of the law here.

i see, your one of those hero liberals, ''lets let our country be overun with immigrants and we'll pay them all benefits because they have the right to be here''.

i bet you hold the opinion that immigrants do the jobs that irish people dont want?
by any chance are you in employment?

What are you talking about paky? The poster clearly said they are in employment. They also pointed out the reasons why they choose/need to come here, and they are well within their rights to do so.

There are plenty of layabouts that sponge off our system, and they consist of many nationalities.

let's hope they don't deport the nationals that don't speak irish. There won't be anyone left.
excellent reply, what if they sent all the irish home from the u.k. our population would double, and where do we get the jobs for them.

Ffs this thread is about people emigrating and claiming social welfare and not learning the local language  Polish people are still welcome to work in Holland also Irish people speak English and would not move to the UK for there social welfare. So how does us heading to the UK to work, where we speak the language have anything to do with some Polish people going to Holland not knowing the language or working.

FYI - Of those that are in receipt of social welfare in the UK there is a significantly disproportionate amount of 'Irish' claiming benefits, and this is not today nor yesterday - this has been going on for the last 50 years - many of those in receipt will never work, are incapable of working and will therefore never contribute.
