Good diagnosis - temp guage on them should stay bang on dead in the middle.

Cheers, I'll keep my eye on it though as its sitting closer to the 1 o'clock position when at full temp.

Could be time for a cooling system rebuild with that mileage and the dial at 1 o'clock.

I managed to give my clutch a nice big grind this morning. :(

Had just filled the car up and the soles of my shoes were wet. Was filtering onto the N32, going from 2nd to 3rd when my foot slipped off the clutch...

In better news (once she forgives me) I may fit some new heating control knobs later, see if they make an improvement or not on the standard ones.

Decided to change my plugs :)

Plenum has to come off to access the rear bank

    They were due a change

Gave the tb a quick clean

The plenum got a similar wipe over

    Running much better :D

I brought it for a nice long spin yesterday which included motorway and city traffic. Temp guage stayed at 12 o clock the whole time. If you look at the guage from the left it looks like it's at 1 o clock but front on it's straight up. Misleading really.

Does anyone actually replace the entire cooling system as preventitive maintenance? Seems like overkill to me.

Some do. I had water pump replaced and hoses/rad inspected when the swirl flaps were done. Too critical to avoid and relatively cheap given the possible damage.

On my '97 laguna I've only ever replaced the thermostat when the car was 7 years old and had to replace the radiator at 8 years old as got hit by a stone. I replace the coolent evey two years though which is bound to help.

Well mine weren't in a carpark - headed to a nice big open spot in the forest with about 3" of snow :D

Looked like this when I arrived ...

Crazy, what county is that? No sign of snow in Louth anyways.

Not generally a major achievment but fitted new sidelights for the dark oul days, Tis more of an achievement when trying to fit shovel hands into a match box to find the fecker.

Oil change on the Esty and put the under trays back on.

Got some sound deadening kit that I'll be throwing in tomorrow.

Cleaned my IACV, twas manky and idle was very vibration-y. Nice and smooth now and the idle actually responds to electrical loads, windows were very slow and juddery before.

Emptied and refilled the rear diff with new fluid (twice). Why did I pick one of the coldest mornings of the year to crawl under my car and do this? Well, Honda workshop procedure recommends putting the car up on a lift and running it in gear for a while. I didn't have a lift but I did have a nice icy industrial estate to engage 4WD for an extended time - "Just burnishing my 4WD clutch Mr Security Man! Yes, it works best if you drive it sideways!"

Diff had been noisy doing tight turns, nice and quiet now!
Quite impressed with the AWD of the CRV, plenty good enough for what I'd be using it for.
