It's abrasive enough, you can get a very "impressive" amount of scratches with it.

.... ps is your bike white ?

Was outside the Harp bar yesterday evening and a chap cycled past on a white racer, for whatever reason I was wondering was it yourself, you must have posted pics of yourself on boards sometime.

Limerick Man, what way are you painting it? Coming out fairly well!

Are you just taking 1 panel off at a time and just going at it?

They aren't my wheels! My wheels are at home in the shed far away from paint :P

The white is only a primer!

Pretty much yeah! It's not going to be a perfect job seeing as we're spraying it in a tent and the back windows aren't coming out but I'm very happy with the results so far. Total cost of respray in the primer is about 75-80 euro so far.

Lots of cleaning going on in this thread so I'll ask here:)

Bought a car yesterday and there is a little bit of mold on the roof inside, whats the best way to clean it and not spread it?

The Opel Copper colour is lovely. Makes me want one every time I see it.

Some sort of blue with a pearl in it would set that off nicely Limerick Man!

Nearly done with the racking for the back of the Smart. Got the removable structure done anyway, just have to put in drawers and section bits off for chemicals, etc. Did my first call out in it last night, 2011 Renault Flatulence, she got a surprise when she saw all the gear in the little tardis!

If those fluences had a forward gear she might not have needed the PaintDoctor. Bound to pick up a few dings reversing everywhere...

I presume all the internals are going to remain blue when the car is finished?

Somehow I am not convinced by a DIY spraying job like this.

Timing belt snapped on my MX5 at the weekend.

New belt, tensioner, pulleys and water pump installed tonight. All working and happy !

Not today, but on Monday I said id give the car a good going over. Wash, de-bug/tar, wax, clean the wheels of breakdust etc and polish up those tires.

Wasnt hugely dirty to begin with but heres the before and afters:
The attached files are the originals (very big), but heres some nice resized ones for ye.

    Before:

After: Most notable difference is the door and wheels.

Auto Glym clean wheels and a wheel brush did the right job, then some Turtle wax tire polisher to give em a nice black shine. Thought I had some good wax to do the whole car, but ended up throwing out 2 crappy ones, and using some Turtle wax one you squirt on. Did an ok job, but hardly a haze off the wax when it dried.

Any recommendations for wax next time I give it go?
