This reminds me of Twin Peaks. So maybe....
Declining viewer ratings led to ABC's insistence that the identity of Laura's murderer be revealed midway through the second season.

ill be awaiting your weekly reviews with bated breath richard;):D

shed wanna be taking the piss dragging out a story over 2 full seasons, fair enough having a cliffhanger but not resolving it within at least the first 3 eps is a bad bad move,

Can not see how they could stretch it out to a full season. They will have to change their suspect an episode style if they do. Still looking forward to this but feel now that it will be a letdown if it the murder is not resolved in the first few episodes.

Gosh, some people have no patience whatsoever!

I'm really looking forward to season 2 - I actually enjoy watching all the different stories and aspects of character's personalities coming out during the episodes.

It's not just all about who killed Rosie, it's the journey we are taken on to find out why she may have been killed and the motivations behind who may have killed her.

Someone else mentioned Twin Peaks and I would agree - the final reveal was great, but the journey getting there was what it was all about for me.

I know this is all about the 'rippling effect' of a single murder, but she's taking the piss. Seems like she's just giving the finger to the internet cause the finale was widely thought to be shíte. Although I've yet to finish Twin Peaks, past the premise I don't see many comparisons(Aside from the obvious ones of quality). The Killing spent too long teasing out red herrings, whereas Twin Peaks delved into the town and much more to lay a foundation for the second season. She shouldn't have told people it'll take the whole season, I'm curious to see what they do for the next 10 episodes but I can see myself getting bored quite quickly.

Heh, that's not too surprising, although I do kinda like how they're not willing to bow to internet reaction/outrage and want to push on with whatever they're trying to do. Creatively, it mightn't be great and it's pretty unlikely I'll be on board for season 2 of this, but maybe the mechanics of US TV some shows means it's easier for them to hang on to more or less the same cast, which I assume they're doing as they'll want to stretch out the Larsen family side of things. The first season contained some of the worst police work around, on that basis it might be a mistake to stretch it for another 13 episodes...I'm thinking US viewers won't be too forgiving.

    Bump for season finale :)

Any guesses on who the killer is?

It's not gonna be any of Richmonds aids, my money is on someone much closer to Rosie, maybe family.

Wow. I'm glad I watched this back to back and only recently.

Seems (and i can see why) how so many people would have got frustrated watching two seasons to find out who killed Rosie

Apparently, season 4 will involve a
military school - Joan Allen has been cast.

'Allen, last seen in HBO’s Luck, will play Margaret O’Neal, the head of an all-boys military academy based outside of Seattle, who figures into Holder and Linden’s new investigation.' http://tvline.com/2014/01/16/the-killing-season-4-cast-joan-allen-netflix/

netflix will be making the the 4th season, they went in with AMC on season 3, it was the main reason it was revived in the first place, they obviously had an option in there for a 4th season,

and netflix will be looking at rapidly expanding their content on the back of their 2013 success, so you never know if its a hit we may get a 5th season

pretty good season overall, there was pretty much no need for that ending, i never got that kind of vibe off them, but i suppose it kinda makes some kind of sense, there both pretty damaged people that take little **** and bounce of each other well,

the case itself was pretty good, though i was thinking after episode 2 that kyle was probably the colonels son, with the will and the way she acted towards him, and it was great seeing the skinner stuff also hanging over there heads, and you can understand why they didnt want to charge linden, after executing mills and all already, and skinners rank in the police,

Just finished Season 1 and 2.

I watched the Danish original and loved it.

And although I do think it sad that a remake was requried for people who can't bring themselves to read subtitles - I have tro admit that this series stood on its own merits.

From the second half onwards, it stopped being a direct copy and went on its own direction.

    Starting season 3 now.

Just watched the final episode of Season 4 (netflix). So what did you all think of the ending ? Happy about it ?

Personally I liked it. My wife hated it and she is/was a huge fan of the show.
