I absolutely love Bulmers Light! You should try it! Very light tasting even & light on the hangover! Well everything in moderation lol! :D

I love Bulmers light too. Can't believe its the same pp as normal bulmers though:eek::eek: Even though the normal stuff is the same pp I still ALWAYS go for the light stuff. Way nicer, not as sweet and doesn't have all that sugar! I don't understand how it could possibly be the same pp. I know the new points are based on alcohol content etc but still:confused:

I try to fool myself into thinking that ww is wrong and that it's still only 1 point per bottle like the old points system:rolleyes: Let's see how far that thought gets me on my weight loss journey. lol :P

Hi I started WW 3 weeks ago and have now lost 13 of the 56 lbs to get to goal. I used WW on the old plan and lost on it but am finding this plan so much more manageable, so far. Loving reading the earlier posts for tips advice and points of view. Glenx

Jesus that is an amazing loss so far Glen! GO YOU!!!!

I did the old plan too and i feel exactly the same as you, the pro points is soooo much easier than the old plan. I have been on WW this time for 13/14 weeks and have been losing slowly but surely and I feel soooo much better on it. (20.5lbs down, 21lbs to go :D ) This time around it just seems to fit into life a lot easier and if people do tend to go up its only by quite small amounts (unless there has been a blow out weekend or something else major).

Good luck Glen, and keep us all posted on your progress!!!! 13lbs in 3 weeks... just WOW!!!! :D:D:D

Anyone got any tips for someone who is struggling to lose the last 6 or 7 pounds to goal? My weight is fluxuating quite a bit, its looking like 1lb will probably be the most im gonna lose anymore. And I'm doing everything I'm meant to - exercise, water etc.

Hi Taz i'm in exactly the same boat as yourself though i've had a bit of a major fall off the proverbial wagon this past few weeks and even missed my last few meetings so now the 7lb i had to lose is more likely to be 10 when i have my weigh in on thur. On the point of 1lb a week i know it seems slow but that means your goal is only 6 or 7 weeks away but i was listening to a girl who got to goal in the meeting the last night and she had lost 3.5lb that week to get there and basicly what she did was just stick religously to her 26 points and drink the water and i think she said she cut the junk for that week just spending her points on good food but it hit home to me because i think i was letting things slip a bit here and there as in the odd biscuit or guessing so what i'm saying is we need to be 100% honest with ourselves for the last stretch
Anyway good luck with it and wish me the same am back firmly on that wagon now since yesterday

Its Davina's ultimate target... it's not bad. didn't do too much today, as was for a walk this am, and only got half way through the ab bit when the baby kicked up, but i'll def be putting it on daily from now on!!

I have that but haven't used it yet. I plan on starting it this week when everyone is out! I have heard it's tougher than her previous ones. Hopefully it is as I'm getting used to the other ones.

Ali well done on the jeans. Non scale victories really make this journey worthwhile when you see how your losses effect you in the real world :)

I took my inches again today as I haven't done any exercise at all yet this week but I was shocked as the inches have gone down again :) I'm more focusing on inches atm as my weight loss has really slowed down recently.

Has anyone done Jillian Micheals 30 Day Shred? I ordered it on Amazon to help me get ready for my holiday in May. I want to use it along with my Davina DVDs. I wonder is it as good as it's made out!

Oh my god so weird bought a load of fitness DVDs from Amazon recently too! Got Davinas Ultimate Target and her boxset - "power of three" is the only one I've tried so far and boy is it a work out! Got Jillian Michaels too and Nell McAndrews :-)

Hey Judy. Lucky you... that restaurant looks yum!
I stand to be corrected on this, but I would have the Bruschetta to start, or maybe the soup... depending on what it is, and if theres cream in it (realistically, there will be cream in it!!!)
For my main, I would have: the baked cod, the steak (chargrilled), the grilled salmon, or the baked sole... be careful of the veg, they will in all likelihood be laced with butter.
as regards desert, that's a tricky one.. the sorbet is probably the least pp, but it might not float your boat! i would always look for something meringue based (unless its scoozi choc cake, but that's another story!!!), but theres nothing like that on your menu. you've plenty weeklies... have whatever you fancy, if you feel you haven't gone overboard with the main... or maybe convince the OH to share with you... though I don't think I'd be able to convince my OH to do that!!!
    Have a great night!!!

Hey Ck - thanks a million for the advice sunday. I went with the bruschetta to start and then they had baked halibut on the special so that sorted the main course (the carrots were very buttered so avoided them but broccoli was steamed so happy out!) and then toffee & blueberry creme brulee for dessert. Sooooooooo yummy!! Had a gorgeous glass of chardonnay to wash it all down - it was the most delicious dinner (will definitely be going back there!) and all fairly ww friendly and within my points! So thanks a mil for helping to keep me on track!

Good news is -3 this eve at WI despite having lunch in limerick yesterday (baked salmon at the cornstore - yum!)

Bad news - my purse was stolen in mothercare of all places so all money, cards, and of course WW card+weight loss tracker+Bonus 7 week voucher all gone! (my ww leader gave me a replacement voucher this evening - have to say she's wonderful and not only cos of that! but still majorly p*ssed off)

Yeah I kind of had that in my head that I'll probably need to be religious about it to get through these (hopefully final) few weeks/months, but I am such a sucker for my sweet treats, which I ALWAYS account for, usually within my dailies. I know I shouldn't be having a treatsize crunchie every evening with my cup of tea (I do most days) but its what gets me through the day, i really look forward to it! (Sad I know!)
Anyway, best of luck with your WI and the next couple of weeks, don't give up, youve done great by getting this far!

Does anyone have any fitness tips for toning up the upper arms, at home as opposed to in the gym? I know kettle bells are good for it as they were what I used when I was member of my local gym. Would they be a worthwhile investment for home use?

Davinas ultimate target DVD has two mini work outs for shoulders, and for bingo wings! (not saying you have bingo wings, but anyhow!), that might be an option. I haven't actually done those sections, but the ab bit, and the cardio are good, so I'd assume the arm bits are too!

I bought 5 of Davina's DVDs and Jillian's 30 Day Shred since January. I think I've become a bit addicted :o I love the Power of 3 one. It's definitely the one I find works the best. Since end of January I've lost about 14 inches all over. I'm currently doing the 30 Day Shred and on days I have more time I do a Davina DVD as well.

How are you finding the 30 day shred one? I'm trying to find the time to try them all out! I've done the Davina one 3 times now I think (Power of Three I mean) so might try the 30 day shred next.

How often do you do them Eabhabear? I'm joined the gym too so need to make use of that as well, and spinning classes too:o Maybe I've taken on too much:D

Hey there, get some low weights (1 - 3Kg) and google some arm exercises - it's handy to do at home and for toning you want lots of reps of low weight.
    : )

Well we're off to Kinsale on hols on Friday and I can't wait.
Definitely gonna check out that Fishy Fish restaurant and also I'll be back to my lovely red wine on Sunday as I gave it up for Lent.

Not sure it was worth it though as I was drinking beer instead and that just makes me full and bloated.
Although I agree with you guys here who tried the Corona Light - it's really nice and at 3 PP totally worth it.

    :)

    Hi All,

I've been following this thread for a few weeks but have never commented on it. Need a little bit of support so thought I'd join in with the discussion!

I started WW four weeks ago. Lost 7lbs in three weeks but put on .5lb on Mondays WI. I'm fine during the week and finding it great, but I just go off the rails on the weekends. It's not that I eat lots of fatty stuff, but more that I have no structure, eat out and socialise far too much and I know this is why the gain this week. I'm sure my leader is getting bored with hearing me moan about how bad I've been every weekend, but this week was the first time that it actually showed on the scales. It's hard to think that 5 days of being careful and watching what I eat go out the window once Friday evening comes around.

I really need to look into changing the way I go about my weekends, so this weekend will be the first test! Am going to try to have porridge every morning (which I love) and watch my alcohol intake. I'll also try to get a bit more excercise in. I cycle 10km 2-3 times to work per week so am going to try to have 1 or 2 long cycles over the weekend - maybe that will help keep me on the straight and narrow!

Will let you know how it all goes!

So.... Just home from WI. Down 3lb. Bit of a shocker. Best week in a while. I'm delighted though. That's my 5th silver seven in 13 weeks. I'm over a stone lighter than I was this time last year, which was pre-baby. An thrilled. Three lb to my half way point.
There's no motivator like a bit of success!
Well done to everyone else on this weeks results, and good luck to those who have still to step on the scales!

That is amazing, you are seriously flying! 2 and a half stone in 13 weeks! So so brilliant, keep up the good work.

Had a cheeky mcdonalds last night after WI. McChicken Sandwich meal (didnt drink the drink) - Id gone to the cinema straight from WI and I was starving when I came out, there was no food in my house and I just needed something quick. And you know what, it was horrible. I really didnt enjoy it and feel so guilty after it. I said it to my OH and he said that at least I know now I dont enjoy that food anymore so there will be less of the temptation there, which I guess is true. Back on track and super strict this week!

Good luck with the WI's everyone!

There's actually a tiny chance I could be down this evening. After all the wine and meat I tucked into a the weekend I was astounded to see my scales this morning. Especially considering it was 2lb heavier on Monday morning. I've been religious with the plan since Sunday evening though.

    Hmm.

Sometimes us girls can see bad results in one in every 4 WI's down to TOTM. If its the week of, week before, or week after then it could be water retention.

Weekends are the hardest to cope with. I find the best way to do it is to plan ahead. If you know you are going to be out plan your days meals to leave you some dailies so you dont have use as many weeklies. Big salads or 0pp soups are great for weekend lunches. Egg white ommeletes with lots of veg too I find great for breakfast/lunch/brunch (even throw in one yolk to 2 or3 whites). I try and create structure where I can but it is so hard, especially as stuff tends to sneak up on you at the weekends. Best of luck and try not to focus on the 0.5 gain. Instead look at it as 6.5 loss in 4 weeks!

I use the Wii fit religiously for my arms. The boxing on it has really helped me. I also got that My Fitness Coach dance work out and that has boxercise and loadsa dance routines with your arms. My arms do kill me afterwards but im definitely seeing the results out of it. I swear by the Wii for the evenings when the weather is too bad to get out in.

WI tonight... im not actually dreading it as much as I usually do. My scales has me down by around 0.5/ 1lb so if that follows through to WI I would be delighted. The lowest I have been in 7 years was 10st 13.5lb two years ago, I am 0.5lb away from that and also the same away from my 3rd silver 7. I know I have worked hard this week, but with TOTM I will take whatever I get :)

    Hi everybody
does anyone know the points in Butlers chocolate bars i have it half in my mind to have one of the chunky ones for easter instead so i won't feel too deprived when everyone else is having an egg. So unless it's a huge amount that's what i'll save my weeklies for? By the way i asked my leader just after xmas and she didn't know

According to MFP the Butler's Mixed Berry White Chocolate Candy Bar has 6pp - they were the only bar they had nutrition on there for but that could be used as a guide to pp the others.

I do the 30 Day Shred everyday as I'm working towards a holiday in May and then on days I've more time I do a Davina as well mainly a cardio one because it's advised you add additional cardio when doing Jillian. I'd recommend doing at least every second day to get maximum impact.

Hi and welcome to the thread :) Firstly 0.5lb is not that bad and chances are you will lose it next week and some. I second tiny penguin on the planning. Plan your main meals and then fit in your drinks around that and only allow yourself to have what you have points for. Exercise is also key for limiting any damage. Good luck for this weekend I'm sure you'll find some way to manage.

I must confess, I still LOVE a mcdonalds every now and again... I've had two since I joined up, and It's like my ultimate treat. I feel so bold in there though!!! I also love that the nutritional info is sooo available, and because its so universal, it's in the eating out guide, so it's really easy to point.... the ordinary chipper seems so much more dangerous, it's hard to know how much to take out of the dailies/weeklies!

I really need to start, reviewing my exercise... I got Davina's DVD, as I've mentioned, and I've done it a bit, but I much prefer to get out and about, so I walk an awful lot. I haven't even been as good the last few weeks about going to aqua aerobics. I'm really noticing my weight loss in my clothes, but I see a lot more of a difference in my legs than anywhere else. I notice that my clothes are getting loose around my legs again, but I still need a bit of space around the tummy and boobs. I started pilates, but then stopped again. I really have to do a program that focuses on tummy/arms etc, or else I'll end up looking like a round thing walking around on two matchsticks....:D

My weight is coming off pretty unevenly too. My upper back, face and neck have seen the most loss and the rest is slowly following. My clothes are fitting me in the strangest ways these days! Luckily, I'm still finding it amusing at this stage though!
