I think Healy has been a huge disappointment

Seamus Healy looks a bit tired, members of his party should not have Properly Tax deductions made at source. Rather they should be able to provide a Tax Clearance Cert with their nominations. Same should apply to Mick Wallace, Joe Higgins and company their first should duty should be to obey existing law.

would you like to tell us who healy is taking business from?

Nobody, just ensuring that people who pay penalties will have to pay more than they have too. Maybe he should tell his followers, now that the Revenue Commissioners are on the case the charge will have to be paid even after they are dead!

Do you know my business friends? all my business friends are law abiding citizens. Anyone who enters business should be told before they leave school "Render under Caesar the things that are Caesar's"

I think they have to have a tax clearance cert in order to take up their seat. Mick Wallace got round this by agreeing to pay some of the money back out of his dail salary.

Don't know if this is the right place to post but as the topic is Clonmel I'm looking for suggestions for areas to rent in, an apartment is ok but preferably the most decent place/s to be. It would help if it's central, close to town and to LIT campus. Thanks

[edit, saw one bed place listed on Nelson Street that looked ok but I'm curious to know if the area is a bit dodgy as it's so central. Also interested in the riverside apartments, what's the story?]

Contact Tina in Reception in LIT and she will be able to help you.

do they all pay for their street furniture? You had an issue with healy signs

I noticed there didn't seem to be any buses running around there which is a pity, it seems big enough to have some kind of service. I'll probably just be concentrating on getting the work done but it would be handy to have a few local amenities near by too. (It's what I'm used to) I can get by with that though.
Thanks for your help folks, looking forward to the change of scenery already (coz it's very pretty) :)

[QUOTE circus put posters on lamposts too. are they fined?[/QUOTE]

The circus is classed as the arts and under the arts law they are allowed to put up posters with out planning, but the crazy thing is they only remove money from the town and put nothing in,offer no employment, no accomadation bookings no cafe/food, no rates absolute nothing to town only a few quid to the racecourse for site, yet they get more privilages than business paying massive rates. I agree the cirus is entertainment to many people but it is now very expensive and drains money from people so has a knock on effect on other businesses. businesses need some kind of breaks every so often to survive shame Clonmel borough council only see fit to screw them as much as possible,

not allowed under litter law though as far as i know? Business were given ten years when the law was not enforced about street furniture. and when they did enforce it they gave notice and enterd discussion first. would yu get to discuss it if you parked 'illegally' in your car? when in clonmel we stay from town centre, woodies/tesco/marks and spencer = free parking

First time I've ever seen anyone recommend Sinclair Properties!

Have heard nothing but horror stories and the one time I rang to enquire about a property they had on daft the man on the phone was so ignorant that I didn't even view the house in the end.

    Hi all,

Just looking for some help with renting in Clonmel. Myself and my partner are moving there in the coming months and we are looking for help and suggestions on where are good areas to rents (preferably houses) in the area that are close to all amenities for both shopping and socialising.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Congratulations to Tom Hayes, 12 years in the Dail and finally a junior minister of Ag.

Oops, posted in the wrong thread :o

To answer your question, and looking at rentals on Daft:

Cois Aoibheann, Moangarriff,Ormonde Court,Dromard,Crann Ard, Gort Na Managh are all fine.

Most of the newer estates are 20 to 30 minutes walk from the town centre.

That's only a look at the first few pages of rentals.

Ard Na Sidhe and Longfields are also nice estates to look for on Daft.ie

Add Auburn Green, Auburn Park or any estate starting with the name Auburn to the above lists.

Longfield is a very nice estate to live in for a couple, houses wouldn't be the best built (boom time builds) but nice atmosphere.

There are a number of Estate Agents in Clonmel that could help you. Tom Pollard, PF Quirke, Stokes and Quirke. Google them and have a look at what is on offer.

Hi anyone know if abbott in Clonmel are hiring ppl for the summer this year??
Its meant to be a v.good place to work

  • Registered Users Posts: 151 ✭✭boiledeggs

I would advise any of the people who are looking to rent either on their own or share house with people , to go to all Estate agents and look on daft or in local papers for private listings. Personal experience I would avoid apartment blocks on the river and Sinclair Properties, some of the rudest people I had to deal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 232 ✭✭tinyk68

That's a bit of a sweeping statement. Some of the blocks on the river are to be avoided but others are ok. Personally I would be happy enough to rent in either Tower House, River House or Harbour House. There are others I would avoid alright but I don't think it's fair to tar them all with the one brush.

I doubt it very much as they made a few people redundant a few weeks ago. Very good place to work, send your cv in to them and maybe even ask for an application form, it can do no harm sure!

Any of the estates in Springfields either - Beechwood Close, Beechwood Drive etc though there are very few rentals in these predominately family estates. Nice walk into town and lots of greenary.

You won't need a bus. Even the estates at the very top of the cashel and fethard roads are only 25 mins max from the town centre. Sure it's a bit of a hike after the pub but you can get a taxi for €6.

There is some local bus service as I've seen it parked outside Eason's but I don't know any of the details. Maybe someone else here will be able to help.

They were taking on students for the summer, but I'd say you're too late. I heard about summer jobs back in April from someone who works there.
