    Just out of curiosity,

Besides un-friending multiple friends who spout ****e status updates and posts on facebook, has anyone actually thought "ah fcuk it - enough of this ****e" and closed their facebook account?

I presume this is a great status? Cos I think Facebook is great for sharing things like this. It's the angel quotes / some ecards / photos of food / check ins and txtspk that are more annoying.

Its the fact that it was posted 18 minutes after the child was born. She also posted regular updates through out the night, letting us know the epidural "went great and she couldn't feel a thing", "the contractions are now only 5mins apart OMG" and "I can't wait for a double cheeseburger tomorrow lol".

While giving birth to another human I'd imagine facebook would be the very last thing on anyone's mind.

No issue with her sharing the news of his birth, just a bit hasty in my opinion! Give the child a chance to catch his breath :pac:

I suppose it's a time and place kind of issue. I had a friend share a picture of him and his wife with their newborn child which was lovely. They were still in the birthing pool and the water was a kind of tea shade which was a bit icky looking. They could have kept that one to themselves and posted up a picture a tiny bit later on. Each to their own I suppose.

I've seen a good few photos like that, the really private ones you take just after the baby is born where the baby is still covered in gunk and the mother looks like ****e.

I have lots of those photos but they're not for Facebook - they're private family photos. I love to see ones of the baba after a friend has had the baby but that's enough for public consumption imo.

I understand that some people want to share these things with close friends and family scattered around the globe and I have no problem with that. I suppose like the dead baby pictures, they really need to sort out some privacy settings for those photos. I don't know the couple that intimately so when I was looking at the pictures, I wasn't really concentrating on the miracle of a new life, I was thinking 'Euugh, look at the water, that's gross!'

And yes, I am obviously a child if I'm making statements like that. Didn't put me off my cup of tea or anything, mind.

"Be sitting here for the last hour in silence with the solid fuel blazing, starting to think i should like make a cup of tea and just look at funny stuff on the internets, hmmm what to look at — feeling crazy."

"Forgot it was bin day today, rushed up out of bed & caught him in time, also there are still ambers in the solid fuel sure mite as well get the fire going for later, short on sticks & briquettes sure its pay day tomorrow so i can get more then"

"Why am i waking up so early in the morning's, this is the second morning in a row I've woken up this early — feeling restless."

"Woke up early again, still in bed, phone rings, i look bewildered, i answer it, talked with person for a few minutes, say goodbye, hang up, still in bed"

Not exactly dumb posts for good god why does Facebook need these updates of his life? He's not doing it for likes cos he never gets any.

Those "early morning" statuses were around 10:30am

I hope I don't get slammed for this, but even as a mother, I don't think any babies look very cute right after they are born. Obviously all parents think their little darlings are adorable, and rightly so, they are blind with love.

But generally speaking, brand new babies are normally swollen, bleary eyed, cone headed little things (the joys of being pushed through the birth canal), with or without random traces of afterbirth.

It takes a few days for all the bits and pieces to settle down and then they start being the irresistible little things we're accustomed to.

Hours old babies look like little angry old men (regardless of gender), and not those serene angelic little cherubs we often see in professional photos.

I think tiny babies look like hairless rat babies. I most certainly don't need to see them on my news feed when they are still covered in gunk, that's happened about 3 times. Once was a baby of somebody I didn't even know, but a mutual friend liked the photo, so there he appeared starfishing naked on a hospital bed, badly in need of a wet wipe at least. *shudder*

My baby is of course, absolutely gorgeous - but not right after he was born. He was all puffy and squished. All newborn babies look like either Ghandi or Winston Churchill. He looked like bot but with loads of hair too! Looking back on the early photos he looks like a different baby.

I still like to see the pics of friends babies though, puffy and all :)

Back to annoying Facebook issues - does anyone know how you can limit what someone who is your friend sees? A family member is my friend but doesn't post, just used it to stalk other people. She regularly sees things I'm up to and then reports back to my parents about it, some of the things involve stuff I'd do with my parents like holidays etc. My parents hate Facebook so don't like people knowing what they're up to. Can I block certain things that involve them from just her? E.g holiday photos?

I don't want to unfriendly her as it will just cause more offence.

There's a setting where you can put people in particular groups. You can then use the drop down menu on the status bar to choose who sees what.

Yeah, in your privacy settings you can restrict who sees what.

New thing now where its like one of them snapchat pictures but the picture is like its out of a comic book or cartoon. So you'll have a comicbook style picture of someone with an annoying snapchat line of text at the bottom. Only seen a handful but they are starting to piss me off.

I don't c the point in paying for crazy priced stuff that the value declines in weeks! Like there's that grand theft auto 5 out about a month and second hand it's 40€ was 59€

& SMYTHS = Santy makes your toys here Suckers!

& ****ing hanging together here! Hungover to bits! Hurry up 5 clock! Curry I clock! A nice Indian or a Singapore fried rice, shredded chicken chilly chips and smothered in curry sauce!

"Wednesday:Today the Angels are saying that the world is getting harsher and harsher and people are turning against each other instead of to each other for support...this is becoming more apparent and there are a lot of you feel like you are loosing your voices and not being heard..it is like a silent scream or a silent cry for help...Michael is stepping in here strongly again because he is saying he hears you and heaven hears you but you don't hear each other..each person is going through their own thing and those who are trying to help are being critised...don't ever let someone tell you that you are not strong enough....strength shows from within the weak are those who try to take anothers power, another's identity...help each other, the least little thing makes a difference and if you can't help then please don't try and harm...begin again from within...it's never too late xx"

    What the actual.
