We're not out of the woods yet. It might become "The Brenda Donohue Show" after he leaves

Hopefully. She'd be really good and deserves a shot at her own prime time radio show

Given that Shay Byrne has filled in most frequently for him, does that mean that he will get the nod?

The Friday programme aside, the very odd time that I listen to the Mooney show I get the impression that Derek doesn't really enjoy it that much ...

A recent example was when Michael Corcoran was on the other day and the "banter" turned a bit sour and Michael ended up saying "You're in one of those kind of moods".

Problem is, IMO Derek seems to be "those kind of moods" quite a lot (lately) ...

His whackiest subjects notwithstanding, Sean Moncrieff shows what can be done in this slot and his increasing audience figures bear this out.

    "Musing with Dr. Richard Collins"

"...no Joe, you rang me !..." A.Caller.

IMO Derek isn't happy with pay cuts so is looking to TV to increase his wage. Interesting to see if he goes freelance, he maybe disappointed.

Typical of all these RTE "stars", they seem to take days off willy nilly whenever they like. They have cushy numbers in there in their own bubble. They would get a fright working in the real world.

Does Derek not spare a thought for all us fans :P, he just fecks off and leaves us.

They might drop the Friday wildlife show now.Put drivetime on from 3 or 4, or extend LL.So that might be better quallity now.......:D

So how many more people will lose there jobs to keep Tubridy in employment?

If he gets Mooney's slot, there's something seriously wrong in Montrose!

I reckon John Murray will get Mooneys slot and Tubridy will get the 9am hour back.

Shay Byrne will get the gig.
He's camp, loves musicals and has being filling in anytime Mooney isn't there. I'd say smart money would be on Mooney to get the Late Late Show.
He said before that they wouldn't give it to him cause he's "too gay".
But that doesn't hold up. Look at Graham Norton, Julian Clary, Alan Carr etc.

the thing with your examples is their in the UK not ireland , no way in hell would mooney get or deserve the late late show

Presumably this opens up moving Tubbers to Radio One, could do either 9 - 10 or 3 - 4.30.

Richard Corrigan will get it. Google has loads of content for him to simply steal.

Just tuned in for about 20 seconds there and Mooney and Donohoe were singing "Hello".

Today's show beats them all in the embarrassment stakes.

    ...it seems it got worse.

Was turning the dial and callers were murdering Lionel Richie songs.

Oh, and flicking around yesterday - Derek's advice for saving water, was to hang kitchen towels on the line in the rain - and wring them into the kettle.....and no, he wasn't joking.

He was advising somebody to use a strainer to get salt whilst swimming today. I reckon he still has his Communion money.
